Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 923: Chapter 950: Bu Chen has appeared.

”Dad, didn’t you want me to take her to check out our branch? Nothing happened. It’s about time now. If I don’t bring her over, should I just keep her here?”

His foolish son blinked, still not understanding what his father meant. Pfft~ This time, his father was about to cough up blood from anger. This son was just too dumb.

Turns out all the effort his father put in was for nothing.

PM—

On the streets of Zhonghai, the weather was already gloomy and overcast.

It seemed like the precursor to a torrential downpour.

Liu Tangtang hurriedly picked up a box containing a delicate fruit salad cake she had made herself from a cake shop.

This was the cake Liu Tangtang had learned to make this afternoon at an authentic French pastry shop in the West District of Zhonghai, just for Lin Zifeng.

Although it was her first time making a cake, for the adorable uncle in her heart, the simple Tangtang was willing to do anything for Lin Zifeng.

Originally, she planned to just find a decent cake shop to make the cake for Lin Zifeng, but the persistent little girl insisted on choosing this specific French pastry shop in the West District because it was an old brand, trustworthy, and had the best taste.

She hopped out of the cake shop onto the street but couldn’t hail a taxi.

Because of the weather, it was exactly the time when taxis were changing shifts.

After 10 PM, there were seldom any taxis around.

”Damn weather, it didn’t rain the day before yesterday, didn’t rain yesterday, but today when I’m buying a cake for Uncle, it starts to rain. Are you messing with me, Liu Tangtang?”

The little girl pouted, her adorable head angrily staring at the night sky, hands on her little waist. If Lin Zifeng saw this, he would laugh his head off.

But waiting any longer might not yield a taxi. Better to make some progress by walking before it starts pouring.

The little girl decided to start walking and hope to catch a taxi along the way.

But after walking for quite a while, the overcast weather yielded no sight of a taxi, and even if there were taxis, none were willing to pick her up, making the little girl’s mood extremely heavy.

Holding the cake with watery eyes full of grievances.

Just then, a thunderclap roared through the sky, startling the little girl pale.

Her watery eyes were on the verge of bursting into tears from the fright.

Liu Tangtang was an exceedingly timid and pure girl who always liked to cling to her relatives. Back when she was abroad for school, she was bullied by some Fusang girls due to her simplicity, and Huahua had to pick up a brick and fiercely smack two bricks on that girl’s face, after which the simple little girl stayed with Huahua ever since—

”Sizzle—”

Suddenly, a blinding flash of lightning streaked across the sky, illuminating the somber night as if it were daylight.

Tangtang watched nervously as the lightning zigzagged across the sky. She knew lightning was a prelude to thunder, which would surely follow soon, scaring the little girl into rushing into a roadside food stall with her cake.

”Boom—!”

Lightning tore through the sky, and several thunderclaps echoed continuously, making ears hurt from the noise.

Until the thunder gradually subsided.

Tangtang was about to leave when she found her wrist gripped by someone.

”Little sister, so late at night, which classmate’s birthday are you preparing for?”

Liu Tangtang turned around in terror, seeing a rugged-looking man grinning lewdly at her.

Especially with that man’s bare arms covered with tattoos of Azure Dragons and White Tigers, clearly not a good person, scaring Liu Tangtang into recoiling and pulling her little hand back nonstop.

”Little sister, don’t be so scared. Brother won’t hurt you. It’s already so late, you came out alone to celebrate someone else’s birthday, aren’t your classmate friends too inconsiderate? Come, come, drink a few glasses with brother, and later I’ll accompany you to find your classmate friends to see how they treat you, letting you come out alone to buy a cake.”

”Big brother, can you let me go?”

Tangtang pleaded pitifully, casting a timid glance at the man, too scared to lift her head.

”Little sister, brother is not a bad person. Look, this is my uniform, I’m an officer, why would an officer harm you? Don’t worry, it’s so late now. Come, come, let’s eat and drink a little with brother, then later I’ll take you to find your classmate friends.” Saying so, the man picked up a police uniform draped over a chair and waved it vigorously, pouring a glass of beer and handing it to Tangtang.

”Big brother, I-I don’t drink alcohol, you better let me go. I-I still have to go home to celebrate my uncle’s birthday.”

Tangtang tearfully refused in a small voice, knowing that the man at the table in front of her was clearly not a good person. If she really drank a few with them, she’d definitely be stuck.

”Bro, why are you wasting time with her? Just take her away, if she dares refuse, just beat her up.”

From the table edge, another beer-guzzling, bald-bellied man with a cigarette between his lips stepped forward to grab Tangtang.

”Damn! I’m just trying to be polite here, but this girl doesn’t know what’s good for her. Since she’s so ungrateful, should we have some fun, boys?”

With that, more than a dozen bald men at the table stood up, surrounding Liu Tangtang in the center.

”What, what do you want to do?”

Liu Tangtang finally realized she was in danger now.

”Little sister, don’t blame brother for not warning you. I’m giving you two options: either drink with us brothers, and we’ll let this matter pass, or if you refuse, sorry. You’re not going anywhere today.”

The speaker was a bald man with a police uniform draped over his shoulder.

With a cigarette in his mouth, looking the epitome of a thug.

”I-I will call the police!”

”Call the police? Brothers, this girl says she’ll call the police, what do you think we should do?”

The man laughed heartily.

”Call the police? We are the officers, who are you going to call? Who are you going to complain to? This is West District, the territory of the Dongchen Club, even if the boss of the Nantian Gang came, he wouldn’t dare make trouble here.”

...

”Old man, these guys have started bullying people again, should we save that poor little girl?”

Inside the food stall, an elderly couple witnessed the whole scenario unfold.

”Forget it, forget it, in today’s society, why get involved? We might end up in trouble too.”

The elderly couple finished their quick meal, paid, and left swiftly.

”Girl, don’t refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit. I’m the boss around here, if you make me unhappy, I’ll make sure you’re unhappy today too!”
