After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1005: Chapter 1009: About Sissi

Stepping out of the elevator, and heading towards the high-level exclusive elevator on the other side, Xiao Ding dialed Luo Xiaoqian’s number once again, ”I’ve kept President Leng on the thirtieth floor, I’m about to head to the elevator there to find him. Don’t worry, drive safely. I’ll do everything to keep him occupied until you arrive.”

Putting away his phone, Xiao Ding immediately quickened his pace and ran towards the elevator on the other side of the building.

Lin Huo cautiously emerged from the corridor behind, following him silently all the way.

With his mind occupied by anxiety, Xiao Ding didn’t realize he was being tracked.

On the other side of the building, outside the high-level exclusive elevator, Leng Zimo frowned and glanced at his watch. Hearing approaching footsteps, he immediately looked up at Xiao Ding.

”What happened?”

Today, he was scheduled to discuss a very important cooperation project with the new president of the Seo Family. As the time approached, Leng Zimo couldn’t help feeling anxious. He was never one to be late, and furthermore, this project was a major investment of more than five billion Renminbi, a very large deal even for Emperor View.

”It’s... it’s about Sissi!” Xiao Ding replied.

”Sissi?!” Leng Zimo tensed up upon hearing Luo Xiaoqian’s name, ”What happened to her?!”

They parted ways fine in the morning, could something have happened?!

”She just called and told me to keep you here, saying she has something extremely important to tell you.”

Leng Zimo frowned, glancing at his watch again—it was 8:55, 15 minutes left until the scheduled meeting time.

”Where is she now?!”

”On her way, she’ll be here soon.”

”Did she say that I should wait here?” Leng Zimo asked again.

”Yes, that’s what she said,” Xiao Ding confirmed.

”Why didn’t she call me directly?” Leng Zimo asked, puzzled.

Xiao Ding hesitated, quickly finding an excuse for Luo Xiaoqian, ”Maybe it’s because the elevator had bad signal earlier, or you were already on a call...”

He understood that Luo Xiaoqian didn’t call Leng Zimo directly because she wasn’t sure if he had already received the news. Of course, he couldn’t tell Leng Zimo that.

Leng Zimo took out his phone, ”I’ll call her.”

”No!” Xiao Ding hurriedly stopped him. ”She’s... she’s driving, it’s not safe to take calls right now. It’s the rush hour; please wait a bit longer, I think she’ll arrive soon, can you wait just a little more?”

Driving while taking calls isn’t really safe, so Leng Zimo paused his hand that was about to dial, ”Alright, I’ll wait a bit longer.”

”Then you wait here, I... I need to use the restroom!” Xiao Ding jogged away to a place where Leng Zimo couldn’t see him and immediately dialed Luo Xiaoqian’s number.

...

...

On a street two blocks away from the Emperor View Building, Luo Xiaoqian anxiously checked her watch and honked the horn again.

She’d been stuck here for almost five minutes, with no sign of movement. If this continues, she’s really going to go crazy.

Frowning at the traffic ahead, then casting a sideways glance at the newspaper on the passenger seat, Luo Xiaoqian bit her lip, almost drawing blood.

Feeling anxious, she turned off the car, pushed the door open, and got out to take a look ahead.

Up front, there was still no sign of any movement.
