The Duke's Pampered Darling is So Scheming

Chapter 261: Chapter 261: Give Her a Hand

Tang Zhongli was instantly overjoyed.

”Do you truly mean that?”

After all, he had asked that Yin fellow for some several times, but the old coot had been too stingy to part with even a little. He never imagined Ye Chutang would be so generous right off the bat!

Ye Chutang smiled lightly and nodded. ”It’s just a small token of my appreciation. You’ve looked after Yan and A Feng so well, and for that, I am deeply grateful.”

Tang Zhongli laughed heartily. ”Ah, I don’t deserve such thanks! It’s those... those two boys are well-behaved and devote themselves to their studies. I really haven’t done much.”

Ye Chutang gently shook her head. ”Yan is fortunate enough to have your guidance. You must be even busier now, especially with the recent matters of the Autumn Examination.”

’As their older sister, she had to maintain some dignity. That was why she hadn’t mentioned A Feng’s name. It was a blessing that one even managed to stay out of trouble at the Imperial College. How could she possibly expect him to proactively seek guidance from Tang Zhongli?’

Hearing this, Tang Zhongli’s eyebrows twitched, and he glanced at Ye Chutang again.

”You’re too kind. To be honest, I didn’t know the Yin Family’s tea came from you. I only found out a few days ago when I happened to hear him mention it.”

News that Ye Chutang had personally taken back thirteen shops had long since spread like wildfire. It was because she had caused such a stir that Yin Shaoting found out she had also taken over a tea house.

Later, when Tang Zhongli had gone over to his place for tea, Yin Shaoting mentioned in passing that with Ye Chutang in charge, the tea business was bound to flourish.

—”Her tea-roasting is one thing, but Second Miss Ye’s skill in the art of tea is another! Only when the two are combined can one brew a truly fine pot of tea!”

Tang Zhongli was both surprised and delighted. Once he learned that Ye Jingyan and his brother had returned to their classes at the Imperial College, he sent a message to Ye Chutang.

And so, Ye Chutang invited him directly to the tea house.

”Elder Yin is too kind. In fact, I’ve learned a great deal about tea from him myself and have benefited immensely.”

’Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been able to get the tea house back so smoothly.’

Tang Zhongli studied her, filled with admiration.

He was extremely fond of Ye Jingyan, and by extension, held great admiration for Ye Chutang as well.

When the Ye Family met with disaster all those years ago, Ye Jingyan was only eleven. For him to have maintained his current humble and upright character, Ye Chutang’s dedication must have been indispensable.

’Many people are learned, but few can remain true to their original character.’

That was why he was willing to lend Ye Chutang a hand.

”To receive tea from you, Second Miss Ye, is wonderful news. As it happens, the teas my household recently purchased are all but undrinkable. You’ve solved a most pressing problem for me!”

A man of the Imperial College Sacrificial Officer’s stature would hardly be lacking for good tea at home.

After the Autumn Examination, many scholars would be paying him visits. For a man of Tang Zhongli’s status, a single mention in front of these people would be enough for the tea house’s fame to spread with incredible speed.

So many people had seen Tang Zhongli walk through these doors today. It wouldn’t be long before customers came flocking, drawn by the news.

With a customer base, Ye Chutang wouldn’t have to worry about the tea house staying afloat.

A smile touched Ye Chutang’s lips. ”I’ve only just taken over this tea house. I’ve already sent my people to procure new leaves for roasting. If you like it, I will have the finest quality tea sent to you regularly.”

Tang Zhongli was thrilled to hear this.

”That would be wonderful!”

Xiao Wu, who had been listening obediently from the side, scurried over carrying two black canisters and held them out to Tang Zhongli.

Tang Zhongli found her adorable. A rare, kindly smile graced his features. ”Are these for me?”

Xiao Wu’s eyes sparkled as she smiled and nodded at him.

’Yes, yes!’

’Big Sis said we have to be generous with our God of Wealth!’
