Everyone in the Group is a Main Character, Except Me Who's the Villain

122: Who would want to be the mistress if they could be the rightful wife? The porsche 4S dealership was more luxurious than those of ordinary car brands. Service was paramount here; even the sales staff were more attractive than those at other car dealerships.

Qiao Xingyue was 24 years old, 176 cm tall, weighed 118 pounds, and worked as a car model.

She had no work today but was still meticulously dressed.

Her beige silk spaghetti-strap dress clung to her figure, the neckline revealing just the right amount of delicate collarbone and a hint of cleavage.

The hem reached mid-thigh, naturally riding up a few inches when she sat down. Her long, straight legs were crossed, and she wore a pair of nude thin-strap sandals. Her ankles were slender, and her toenails were painted a pale pink.

At that moment, she was sitting in the porsche center’s lounge area, one hand propping up her chin, the other idly scrolling through her social media feed.

The latest post was from Wu Yuting last night: a photo of a movie theater lounge with the caption ”Thanks to someone for stepping in.” There were a few comments from mutual friends below.

Qiao Xingyue’s finger lightly swiped across the screen, but her gaze seemed distant.

She had been a car model for over a year. The industry looked glamorous, but she knew the harsh realities all too well.

Standing on a stage all day, posing under spotlights in high heels, swollen legs and sore feet were the norm. The income was unstable—good gigs could pay several thousand or even over ten thousand, but during slow seasons, she might go half a month without work.

Most importantly, this was a youth-oriented industry, and Qiao Xingyue was acutely aware of that.

Her hometown was a small county in the southwest. Her parents were ordinary workers, and she had a younger brother still in high school. Her family couldn’t offer her any support; instead, they’d call from time to time, hinting about how much money she’d made and whether she could help out at home.

She didn’t want to be on stage her whole life, and she knew her own limitations.

So, since university, she had set a goal for herself: while she was young, she would use her face and figure to latch onto a wealthy man. Even being a mistress was better than returning to her hometown and marrying an ordinary man.

This thought was pragmatic, even a bit vulgar, but Qiao Xingyue didn’t see anything wrong with it. One had to plan for oneself in life.

However, although she wanted to climb the social ladder, she was still young and unwilling to settle for just anyone.

After all, who wants to be a mistress when you can be the official wife? So, the target not only had to be young and wealthy but also couldn’t have too messy a personal life.

That was also why she was here today.

porsche’s models leaned towards youth and sportiness. The people who came here to look at cars were mostly second-generation rich kids, easily meeting these requirements.

”I hope I can run into someone pleasing to the eye today...” Qiao Xingyue murmured to herself.

Running into Fang Ming at the movie theater last night had honestly surprised her.

Wu Yuting had told her about Fang Ming—the poor kid who confessed to her three times in university and was rejected every time. After graduation, he became Qin Xiao’s assistant. By all accounts, he shouldn’t be a target for someone like Qiao Xingyue.

But... Qiao Xingyue’s delicate brows furrowed slightly as she recalled the details from last night.

That drunkard Shao Qiang was a big guy and clearly not someone to mess with. Yet, when Fang Ming took action, it was swift and decisive. That calmness mixed with a fierce edge didn’t seem like an ordinary lackey at all.

And then there was Wang Meng’s attitude towards him later—respectful, with a hint of ingratiation.

Most importantly, Fang Ming was a homeowner at Jinjiang Courtyard. That was Jinjiang Courtyard!

Qiao Xingyue did a quick mental calculation. Even at the entry-level villa price of twelve million, a 30% down payment would be 3.6 million. Where would an ordinary assistant get 3.6 million?

”Huh? Is that... Fang Ming??”

Speak of the devil.

Looking towards the dealership entrance, at the young figure being led by the salesperson Li Ping to the VIP reception area, Qiao Xingyue was somewhat astonished.

”What a coincidence? We just met last night, and now we run into each other again today? And what is he doing here?”

The thin strap of her dress slipped an inch off her shoulder with her movement. Qiao Xingyue casually pulled it back, her eyes fixed on Fang Ming in the VIP area!

At that moment, Fang Ming was talking to Li Ping about something. Li Ping held a folder, and her respectful attitude towards Fang Ming didn’t seem like how one would treat an ordinary client.

Was it just because he was Qin Xiao’s assistant? That didn’t seem right.

Putting together all the previous clues, Qiao Xingyue came to a conclusion: this man definitely had secrets that Wu Yuting didn’t know about.

”Xingyue? What are you thinking about? You’re so lost in thought?”

A slightly teasing female voice came from beside her.

Qiao Xingyue snapped back to reality, looking up to see a woman in a professional suit walking over with two cups of coffee and sitting down opposite her.

Wang Li, in her early thirties, was a veteran salesperson at the porsche center, consistently ranking in the top three in performance. Qiao Xingyue had worked with her a few times as a car model, and their relationship was fairly good.

”Sister Wang.” Qiao Xingyue took the coffee, took a sip, and glanced again towards the VIP area. ”That person over there... is he a new client?”

Wang Li followed her gaze and smiled. ”You mean Mr. Fang? Yes, he’s here to pick up his car today. A Cayenne Turbo S, top-of-the-line, Arctic Grey. All-in price of 2.75 million, paid in full.”

”Paid... in full?” Qiao Xingyue almost dropped her coffee cup.

2.75 million, paid in full?

A young man not long out of university, living in a villa worth tens of millions, buying a luxury car worth over two million in full?

”Did he pay using a company account or a personal account?”

”Of course, a personal account!” Wang Li glanced at the time. ”All the formalities are done. He can drive it away soon. Why? Do you know him?”

Qiao Xingyue smiled, not answering directly. Instead, she asked, ”When he bought the car, did he... bring any female companions to look at it?”

”I didn’t really notice that.” Wang Li thought for a moment. ”But from placing the order to picking it up, he handled everything himself. Probably didn’t bring anyone else.”

Hearing this, Qiao Xingyue’s heart gave a sudden jolt.

Wu Yuting... was truly blind. Such a promising stock, and she rejected him three times in university?

But then again, thinking about it, she felt relieved. She knew Wu Yuting all too well—superficially aloof, but at her core, even more pragmatic than herself. The Fang Ming from university days seemed so ordinary; of course, she wouldn’t have been interested.

But now... Qiao Xingyue gently bit her lower lip.

That social media post Wu Yuting made last night clearly showed she had changed her opinion of Fang Ming and had even started to have ideas about him.

But did Wu Yuting have the guts? Would she dare ignore the fact that Fang Ming ’had a girlfriend’?

Wu Yuting wouldn’t dare. She cared too much about face. Facing a guy she had rejected three times, even if she was tempted, she would have to be cautious and take it step by step.

Otherwise, she’d seem opportunistic and cheap.

But she, Qiao Xingyue, was different.

She and Fang Ming had never known each other before. She didn’t have to worry about face at all.

Qiao Xingyue knew exactly what she wanted: money, power, status, and a better life.

As for morality? Face? Those were things only people with full bellies had the luxury to consider. She wasn’t full yet, so she wasn’t qualified to think about those things.

”Um... Sister Wang.” Qiao Xingyue suddenly spoke up. ”When he picks up the car later, can I go over and say hello?”

Wang Li was taken aback for a moment, then flashed an ’I understand’ smile. ”Of course, but... he might have a girlfriend. Are you sure you want to?”

”Just a girlfriend, not married.”

Qiao Xingyue smiled as she stood up, smoothing her skirt. ”Besides, it’s just old friends running into each other by chance. What’s wrong with saying hello?”
