Chapter 104: Chapter 104 Proving Oneself

Xiao Yifeng smiled as he spoke, his hand gently pinching her swollen red face. A stream of energy flowed through his palm into her cheek, causing the swelling to slowly fade away.

Hong Mei’s expression carried a touch of shyness, and she dared not meet Xiao Yifeng’s gaze, revealing a demureness typical of a young woman.

At that moment, Xiao Yifeng glanced at Hong Mei unintentionally resting his gaze upon her.

”Sister Hong, you’re all right now, so I’ll head back first,” Xiao Yifeng said, intending to get up and leave.

”Don’t go, stay with me, I am a little scared,”

Hong Mei suddenly grabbed Xiao Yifeng’s hand, her eyes filled with a pleading look that made one’s heart stir with compassion.

Looking at Hong Mei and listening to her words, Xiao Yifeng took a deep breath and did not leave; instead, he sat beside her.

”Don’t be afraid, that guy won’t dare to come again. I’ll protect you,” Xiao Yifeng assured Hong Mei.

Hong Mei hung her head. Feeling the tremble in her heart upon hearing Xiao Yifeng’s words, she leaned against him.

”Hold me,” said Hong Mei, causing Xiao Yifeng to be taken aback, unsure of what to do.

Xiao Yifeng’s arms slowly wrapped around her.

”Young Xiao, do you know? When I was in danger and wanted to call for help, it wasn’t the police I thought of, but you. You made me feel safe, as if I had found someone to rely on.”

Hong Mei clung to Xiao Yifeng, murmuring to herself as his expression shifted continuously.

”I thought I found happiness with Wu Liang, but it turned out to be a nightmare. Because of that, I’ve been refusing any man for years, afraid it would happen again. But today, when I saw you charging in without regard for your safety, my heart was moved. I think you are the new hope in my life.”

Hearing Hong Mei, Xiao Yifeng’s heart swayed a bit. It was clear that the incident from the past had indeed left a deep wound on Hong Mei. Despite her outward openness, she was inwardly very resistant to men, fearing another betrayal.”

Then Hong Mei lifted her head to look at Xiao Yifeng, her eyes shining, and she kissed Xiao Yifeng...

Wu Liang could never have imagined that despite years of dating and even going to jail for her, he had not won Hong Mei’s heart, yet now, because of him, Xiao Yifeng had effortlessly gained it. He would be livid if he knew.

Of course, Wu Liang was not about to let things slide so easily. After leaving Hong Mei’s home, he took out his phone and made a call.

”Dongzi, I’m out. Let’s get the guys together for a good time,” he said.

After hanging up, a sinister glint flashed through Wu Liang’s eyes.

”You two wait for me. I definitely won’t let you off easy,” Wu Liang spoke coldly, promptly leaving the place.

...

Several hours later.

Hong Mei’s hair clung to her forehead, and she lay in Xiao Yifeng’s arms like a golden-hued cat.

Xiao Yifeng wore a look of satisfaction.

”Sister Hong, do you have any regrets?” Xiao Yifeng asked lightly.

”I’m an adult, and since I’ve done it, I won’t feel regret!” Hong Mei declared directly.

”From now on, I will take good care of you and won’t let him hurt you again!” Xiao Yifeng promised.

”Let’s not talk about him anymore, he’s nothing to me now,” Hong Mei said, her expression changing slightly.

”Still, I should thank him. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t have gotten you, Sister Hong,” Xiao Yifeng said quietly.
