I Am Your Natural Enemy

Changing places every three months is much better than trying my luck on the streets.

Originally, I thought this younger brother had an extraordinary bone structure today, with outstanding hardness and flexibility, naturally suited for martial training.

Unfortunately, I didn’t expect this younger brother to be a distinguished student from Fuyu Mountain, I’ve been impetuous.”

Upon hearing this, Wen Yan realized why Feng Yao sent him here, it was purely to let him relax.

There’s definitely a record of this person in the Scorching Sun Department.

A simple phone call might make this person cooperate with the Scorching Sun Department for an investigation.

”Wen Yan from Fuyu Mountain, how should I address you, Brother?”

”Chen Tao from the Hemp Robe Sect.”

After he introduced himself, Wen Yan had a slight impression, his Fourth Great-uncle Master had previously told him that many of these face-reading skills are passed down from the Hemp Robe Sect.

It’s not a sect, but a faction, which is different from the usual mountain sects.

They don’t have a mountain sect; disciples travel the world with no fixed residence.

One reason for this is that disciples of the Hemp Robe Sect have a major task, which is to choose a successor for their legacy.

Considering their own various characteristics, they have to choose a successor who is well-suited in all aspects, hence they must travel widely and accumulate virtues.

Of course, that’s the official line; in reality, finding a successor is too difficult, so they have to do good deeds everywhere. With a good reputation, when you meet a kid and cheerfully say, come here let Uncle feel your bones, the parents would think you mean well and not beat you up as a pervert.

Now Chen Tao has found another way, by working as a bathhouse attendant, whether adult or child, he can take the chance to feel their bones and assess their potential without any issue.

If he uses a bit more strength, the customer might even think this master has good skills and doesn’t slack on the job.

”Brother from the Hemp Robe Sect, do you still need to feel bones to choose a successor?”

”It’s traditional, walking in the Jianghu, you must know some self-defense, can’t rely solely on your wits to venture into the world; what if you meet someone unreasonable?

My martial talent was too poor, so I wanted to find a disciple with better martial talent.

Previously, I found someone barely suitable, but unfortunately, they had no interest.”

Wen Yan thought of the person caught by the Scorching Sun Department.

”Is it the one who helped you find a successor online?”

”Oh, you know about this?” Chen Tao’s expression changed slightly: ”You’re from the Scorching Sun Department?”

”No.” Wen Yan roughly had a grasp of things, he now knew who was spreading lies, it must be the boss of that camera app, that damn thing definitely made things up.

What use would Chen Tao have for those face data, he just wanted to find a successor.

Wen Yan explained the previous events briefly, and as soon as he mentioned that the boss said the face data were sold to him, Chen Tao was so angry that he slapped his thigh.

”Nonsense, what use would I have for those face data.

I’m just at an age where I need another ten or fifteen years to teach a disciple.

Really can’t wait any longer, so thinking about separating the martial arts from the face-reading art for the legacy.

The one I found before just wasn’t interested in these, and helped me find a disciple.

What he said wasn’t without reason, finding a disciple like this would certainly be someone interested and compatible with face-reading.

I just want to find this one person, and even then, it still depends on their own willingness when the time comes.

In my faction, nothing can be forced upon anyone.”

Chen Tao was so angry his beard bristled and eyes glared.

”I knew it, that damn boss was not honest, deserves to be hung from a streetlamp.” Wen Yan sighed deeply and instantly sent Feng Yao a message to clarify things and investigate further.

Then, Feng Yao instantly replied to him.

He said they found virtual coins in the boss’s wife’s possession, and with a slight bluff, she confessed.

This damn boss was double-dealing, creating an event that didn’t need to bypass regulations, just using the app’s large user base to try and pick suitable successor disciples.

The people who liked this event were exactly the target group, while there was some risk, it wasn’t massive data misuse or direct selling of user data, so the risk wasn’t huge, it was a favor done with good intentions.

But this damn boss also went ahead and sold the user data, since the app had burned almost all the investors’ money, even fabricating good-looking data couldn’t help, he was planning a getaway with a buyer ready.

The large sum from selling the data was settled with virtual coins, which happened to be rising recently, and he couldn’t resist.

Looking at the information on his phone, Wen Yan asked.

”You found this out early?”

”No, we found out about this less than half an hour ago.”

”So did you know early on that this bulk buying of user data had nothing to do with Chen Tao over here?”

”Not sure, but it’s likely unrelated to him, because he wouldn’t have that much money, and people wouldn’t pay him so much for face-reading.

”It’s best not to blurt out the truth in front of others.”

”Your department’s Big Sister Ye, regarding the photo ghost issue, ask him, he should know how to solve it.”

”Okay.”

Wen Yan put away his phone, first confirmed the results found by the Scorching Sun Department with Chen Tao, then continued to discuss the consequences that ensued from this series of events.

After Wen Yan finished speaking, Chen Tao was left dumbfounded, he hadn’t thought that so many things would be triggered afterward.

”So, now I’m asking you, Brother, can this be resolved?

Besides directly obliterating that ghost.

I know, the rules in the Northeast, encountering demons that rashly demand offerings from ordinary people, they are dealt with directly.”
