Daddy Always Gets Jealous

(Ye Bai’s second day in Hong Kong)

After breakfast, Ye Bai sat there, wiped his mouth, and looked at Shen You.

Shen You, ”...”

Just the two of them alone, Ye Bai still staring at him, he felt a bit uneasy sitting there.

Ye Bai was about to speak when his phone rang.

She picked up the phone and glanced at it. It was her father, but Xiaojiu’s crying came through the earpiece.

”Mom, waaah, Mom doesn’t want Xiaojiu anymore, waaah...”

Xiaojiu was crying sorrowfully, his voice hoarse, each sound was heart-wrenching and gut-twisting.

Ye Bai, ”Mom will be back very soon.”

Shen You listened, bewildered, Mom?

Is Ye Bai a mom?

Isn’t he a man?

Ye Bai has a child too? How does he not know?

Ye Bai saw Shen You staring at him, stood up, and left the dining room, heading directly upstairs to the room she slept in last night.

Xiaojiu was still crying.

Ye Bai coaxed softly, ”Don’t cry, Xiaojiu, Mom will really be back soon.”

Xiaojiu wiped his tears, his little hands also wet, ”But Chu He said Mom doesn’t want me.”

Chu He?

Upon hearing this, Ye Bai’s face darkened, ”You are Mom’s treasure, how could Mom not want you?”

Xiaojiu, ”Mom, you’re not lying to me?”

Ye Bai, ”Of course not, Mom will be back in a few days.”

Xiaojiu’s eyes were brimming with tears, he glanced at Ye Ming, apparently Grandpa wasn’t lying to him, but it seems Grandpa won’t take him to find Mom, that’s mean! Mean mean! Mean mean big meanie!

Ye Ming saw Xiaojiu finally stopped crying, grabbed a wet wipe to help wipe Xiaojiu’s tears.

Xiaojiu pushed his hand away, ”No, I want to go find Mom.”

Ye Ming, ”Didn’t Mom say she’d be back very soon?”

Xiaojiu, ”I really miss Mom now. I want to be with Mom.”

Ye Ming, ”...”

Xiaojiu really clung to his mom. This time, letting Ye Bai go out was also to help Xiaojiu adapt, but it’s only the second day and he wouldn’t have it.

Xiaojiu looked at Ye Ming, ”Grandpa is mean mean mean.”

Ye Ming, ”...”

Xiaojiu picked up the phone to talk to Ye Bai again, ”Mom, where are you? I want to be like a tadpole and go find Mom.”

Ye Bai, ”I’m in Hong Kong, I need to take a plane to come.”

Xiaojiu, ”Don’t we have a plane at home?”

Ye Bai thought Xiaojiu really was too attached to her, needing to develop his independence, ”Our family’s plane is in Hong Kong and can’t come back yet, listen carefully to Grandpa, Mom will be back very soon, okay?”

Xiaojiu glanced at Ye Ming, ”I’ve always listened to Grandpa, but Grandpa isn’t very obedient.”

Ye Bai laughed at hearing Xiaojiu’s childish voice and words, ”Grandpa doesn’t listen, he’s not a good child, Xiaojiu is the good kid.”

Xiaojiu, ”Xiaojiu is a good baby, Grandpa is not a good baby.”

Ye Bai, ”Mom has things to do outside, Xiaojiu is a good baby, wait for Mom to finish and then Mom will come back, okay?”

Xiaojiu’s big watery eyes glanced at Ye Ming, clutching the phone, finally reluctantly spoke, ”Alright, but Mom, you have to call Xiaojiu every day.”

Ye Bai, ”Okay.”

After coaxing Xiaojiu, she hung up the phone and finally breathed a sigh of relief, then thought of Chu He, her face darkened.

He actually said such things to the kid!

And then recalled one night, she was sleeping when Chu He came in, her face got darker than before.

Her father always advises her not to be too harsh with Chu He, just because Chu He knows she’s a woman?

Thinking it’s useless to call her father, it’s better to go back and deal with Chu He.
