MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1766 1766: The Systemʼs Aid

[Following the agreed upon conditions in the proposition, the Apparatus shall now uphold its part of the deal.]

Whoosh!

Just as Ataraxia was finished through the last set of words that appeared on the ancient-looking screen, his attention was forcefully shifted upwards after sensing that something above the Mystic Plane was starting to manifest.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Continuing to stare at the sky, the young man eventually saw a rift that led to who knows where appear, only for it to then open as its insides revealed what looked to be a massive construct that ran off pure energy.

Sensing an incredibly familiar feeling from the massive construct within, Ataraxia swiftly put two and two together in his head as he briefly glanced at the ancient-looking screen beside him in disbelief.

ʼIs that… what I think it is?ʼ

ʼ…ʼ

ʼ…The true form of the Apparatus?ʼ

Fwoosh!

Before he could even get an answer, a ray of light soon shot out of the massive construct, darting straight out of the rift as it headed directly for Ataraxiaʼs forehead.

Bang!

Feeling like a large explosion went off in his head the moment the ray of light made contact with him, that feeling was soon replaced with an influx of information, all of which had something to do with Mystic Runes in some shape or form.

At first, the young man felt confused after going through the information he received, seeing that most of it was just a rehash of what he had explained to the system just moments earlier.

Yet, as more time passed, new bits of information appeared within his mind, all of them inferences and deductions made from the information that he received not long ago.

Once that occurred, the young man immediately understood what the system was doing, prompting him to close his eyes and sit on the ground as he worked together with the system to deduce even greater information regarding Mystic Runes.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

For the next few minutes after that, Ataraxia and the system worked together as one entity, crazily deducing and inferencing tons of information that greatly increased their understanding and knowledge of how Mystic Runes worked.

By the time the ray of light from the massive construct began to dissipate, only then did the young man open his eyes once more.

”Hmm?” Though he noticed that a new string of words appeared on the ancient-looking screen in front of him, Ataraxia took notice of the notifications he received first, commanding the system to bring them up in his mind.

Ding!

[The universe is built upon the foundations of vast knowledge and understanding.]

[Though new knowledge nowadays come from either combination or inference from other pieces of knowledge, there still exists parts of knowledge that only come about through either discovery or creation.]

[If a being were to come across such knowledge and formulate a valid framework for its existence, they gain a distinction widely recognized throughout the universe as one of the greatest distinctions one could obtain.]

[A Forerunner.]

[As the Apparatus has confirmed the existence of Mystic Runes, as well as the feasibility of the framework youʼve given regarding the operation and creation of Mystic Runes, the Apparatus now recognizes you as one of the Forerunners of the universe.]

[You have obtained the title ʼForerunner of the Mystic Rune — Stage 1ʼ.]

[The Apparatus wishes you the best of luck in exploring the path youʼve uncovered to greater depths.]

[…]

[A proposition has been completed between the user and the Apparatus.]

[Following the clauses of the proposition, the Apparatus shall now allocate 2.5% of its computational abilities towards the creation of a new skill suited to further aid the Forerunner in their pursuit.]

[You have obtained the active skill ʼSupreme Mystic Rune Deduction — Forerunnerʼ.]

[Understanding that it would be difficult for the user to keep track of the various Mystic Runes as the number of runes deduced increases, the Apparatus has decided to give you a pair of skills that aids in that aspect.]

[You have obtained the passive skill ʼSupreme Mystic Rune Comprehension — Forerunnerʼ.]

[You have obtained the passive skill ʼMystic Rune Repository — Forerunnerʼ.]

ʼ…Huh. Thatʼs weird.ʼ

After he was done going through all the notifications he had obtained from the system, a look of confusion appeared on Ataraxiaʼs face as he noticed that he didnʼt really feel any different from before.

Though, as he thought more about it, he eventually realized that the changes brought about by the title and the skills he obtained had most likely taken effect while he was still deducing Mystic Runes with the system.

”Let me take a look.” Muttering these words to himself, the young man closed his eyes and brought up knowledge regarding Mystic Runes in his mind, only to find that all of it had been neatly arranged into a mental library of sorts.

Focusing his attention on one of the parts of the mental library, Ataraxia went ahead and brought up information on the ʼFocusʼ rune, only to find that the option to deduce more information on the rune was now available.

ʼI see.ʼ Seeing that, the young man now understood what was going on, prompting him to return his attention back to the real world as he looked at the screen in front of him.

[The deal has now been completed.]

[If you have any queries regarding the rewards that have been distributed, feel free to ask them now.]

”Are the skills permanent?” Reading through the couple lines of text that were on screen, Ataraxia soon asked this question to the system. ”Also, whatʼs with the title?”

[To answer your first question, the skills ʼSupreme Mystic Rune Comprehensionʼ and ʼMystic Rune Repositoryʼ are considered permanent skills that are given due to your efforts.]

Giving the question a bit of thought, the system soon responded with a new line of text.

[As for ʼSupreme Mystic Rune Deductionʼ, there is the possibility of it being permanent.]

[However, that all depends as to whether the number of ʼbasic runesʼ that exist are finite or not.]

[As for the title, it is something that naturally comes along with the recognition of being a Forerunner.]

[With that being said, the title reflects the path that you have discovered on your own, as well as your progress in exploring that path in the form of stages.]

The system paused for a bit after that.

[The Apparatus recommends you to read through the titleʼs description to gain more information regarding progress.]

[With how long the universe has existed, as well as how many Forerunners have appeared, the Apparatus has a good idea of what level of progress corresponds to what.]

”I see.” Ataraxia nodded in understanding, only for a slight frown to appear on his face not long after.

”Now that I think about it, since our deal is now complete…”

”What now?”
