MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1461: Myriad Prodigies: Second Round - Valyr (3)

”Hooh, hooh, hooohhhh!!!”

Infuriated by the blatant provocation Valyr aimed at it, the gorilla showed no hesitation charging at the young man as it channeled its mana towards its fists.

”Hooohhh…!!!”

Bellowing out with fury, the gorilla slammed both of its fists downward, confident that its target would at least be injured by the attack.

Bang!

Yet, just as its fists landed on the fortified ground of the platform, the gorilla instead saw its target untouched by its fists.

”…Well then.” Briefly wondering whether the tournament intentionally made the gorillaʼs attacks more readable to compensate for the massive level gap, Valyr decided to set such thoughts for a later time as he continued to look at the gorilla with a smile.

”Is it my turn?”

Flaring out his aura even further, he then went ahead and made a claw with one of his hands, imbuing it with Prime Azure Energy before making a swiping motion at the gorilla.

”[Four Paths Azure Magic Arts].”

”[Azure Dragonʼs Claw].”

Swoosh!

Seeing a massive azure claw appeared before it all of a sudden, the gorilla instinctively felt a hint of fear at it as it decided to take a few steps backward.

Bang!

However, with how fast the claw was moving at it, the gorilla was forced to cross its arms in defense at the last minute, allowing the claw to rip away some of the hairs on its arms.

”Hooohhh!!!” After making sure that there wasnʼt a second claw coming for him, the gorilla launched a counteroffensive against Valyr, sending a series of jabs imbued with mana towards the latter.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Unfortunately, with the young manʼs agility and size, the gorillaʼs counteroffensive instead only hit thin air.

At the same time, it had made itself open towards the young manʼs next attack.

”[Four Paths Azure War Arts].”

Taking out the dark crimson spear behind his back, Valyr imbued a great amount of Prime Azure Energy into its tip before thrusting it forward with the greatest force he could muster.

Feeling a similar sense of danger from the spear aiming at it, the gorilla immediately thought of moving away from its trajectory, making use of its high agility to the fullest in the process.

However…

”Hoo…?”

Just as it had thought of moving away from the attack, the young man had made use of Mystic Energy to pin the gorilla down in its place, finally allowing Valyr to deal a decent amount of damage to it.

”[Wrath of the Azure Dragon].”

Bang!

…

”Who do you think will win?”

Just like the audience the moment they took note of it, the four arbiters immediately focused their attention on Valyrʼs batch the moment he appeared.

”The gorilla or their batch?” Seeing Valyr and the other members coordinate with one another while fighting against the gorilla, Julian proposed this question to the other three.

”Iʼd say their batch,” replied Liam, pondering over the thought for quite some time. ”After all, theyʼre making up for their lack in strength with quantity.”

”If you also take into consideration that they still have access to their skills and comprehended concepts, then Iʼd say they have a good shot at winning over the gorilla.”

”How about you, Eliathaea?” Nodding in response to Liamʼs reply, Julian then shifted his attention to the woman on his far right.

”Iʼd… say the gorilla would win,” said Eliathaea in return, prompting both Liam and Julian to look at her with curiosity.

Understanding their skepticism, she explained, ”Think about it. All of the beasts are at Level 100, while the participants fighting against them are all at Level 41.”

”Iʼm sure all of us here know that we deal less damage the greater the gap in levels are.”

At those words, the two nodded in agreement.

”However, have you ever thought that there was a limit to that? A point where the one with the higher levels would take no damage?”

Faced with the question, Julian and Liam looked at each other a bit, their expressions clearly telling her that it was the first time theyʼd thought about it.

Unsurprised by their reactions, Eliathaea faintly smiled as she told them, ”50 levels. Once the gap between two opposing sides reaches 50 levels, itʼs impossible for the weaker side to deal any more damage than 1 point per hit.”

”Is that so?” Naturally, both men wanted to confirm her words for themselves, immediately shifting their attention towards the various batches fighting against the beasts.

Seeing that all five batches were only dealing 1 point of damage on every hit that landed on their respective beasts, the two eventually looked back at Eliathaea with understanding, realizing then and there that her words werenʼt unfounded.

However, just as the two thought that the limitation applied to everyone fighting, Valyr went ahead and struck the gorilla once more.

Bang!

ʼ-2,587!!ʼ

Showing no hesitation now that the gorilla was exerting its full power, Valyr deftly maneuvered his way closer to the gorilla, only to then land a direct hit on one of its more vital spots with his spear.

”…” Watching the young man deal far more damage than 1 point all of a sudden, both Julian and Liam looked back at Eliathaea with curiosity, their expressions indirectly telling her to explain what just happened.

In response, Eliathaea looked back at the two with immense confusion, her expression obviously telling them she doesnʼt have any clue either.

ʼInteresting…ʼ While the three were still wondering how Valyr was able to deal that kind of damage when everyone else was only dealing 1 point, Erika watched the young manʼs actions with a slight twinkle in her eyes.

Having attempted to make the young man to submit to her twice already, the woman felt an immense desire to make Valyr hers, especially when she thought about the things sheʼd get in exchange if she were to offer him to her organization.

ʼVery interesting…ʼ

Then again, that desire greatly amplified the moment Valyr showcased his abilities to deal actual damage to his opponent, even though a massive level gap existed between the two of them.

ʼIf I were to offer him up to the god, what kind of rewards would I get in exchange?ʼ

As this question lingered within the womanʼs mind, Erika continued to watch the young man coordinate with his fellow participants in earnest, slowly coming up with a plan in her mind to eventually make Valyr hers.

And under that inquisitive gaze, Valyrʼs batch eventually got to the third stage.
