MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 956: Evening the Playing Field

”[Limit Break: Second Verse].”

”[First Encore].”

With [Four Paths Azure Liberation] on cooldown, Valyr was free to use his Prime Azure Energy however he wanted.

With that, he went ahead and used some of it on his buffs, keeping an eye on his soon-to-be opponent as he felt the efficacy of his skills improve by a further 20%.

Whoosh!

With Valyrʼs aura beginning to reach greater heights once more, Sellifer proceeded to uphold her part of the idea, expanding the light being radiated by the fixture to encompass an area a couple hundred meters in radius.

Swoosh!

At the same time, she began to make a few gestures in the air, imbuing them with her Azure Energy as a peculiar sensation began to suffuse throughout the surroundings.

Fwoosh!

Within seconds, a domain encompassed both Valyr and Sellifer once more, dispelling the curse that took hold of the former as it then began to expand to where the Myth-level Void Rabbit was.

”[Four Paths Azure Elemental Arts: Raging Azure Phoenix].”

”[Refined Offense Aura].”

”[Refined Defense Aura].”

”[Rage of the True Wyvern].”

Continuing to empower himself with stat-boosting skills activated with Prime Azure Energy, Valyr eventually felt himself reach a similar state to the one he reached back when he fought against his first Myth-level Void Rabbit.

However, unlike that time, the young man had chosen to forgo using the arquebus, instead wanting to use this opportunity to see how far he could go against a Myth-level Void Rabbit without access to some of his most powerful trump cards.

ʼWell, Iʼll only be able to truly find out how I fare against a Myth-level being once I start attacking,ʼ thought the young man to himself, grabbing the blood-red spear affixed to his back.

Feeling the voice within the spear resonate with his intent to fight, the young man tightly gripped onto it with both hands as he awakened his Intents.

”[Truth Weaver Scripture: Tetrad].”

”[Intent of Shadow Energy].”

Whoosh!

Making use of the synergy between the various combat-related Intents, Valyr felt the lethality of his attacks rise by a considerable degree, deeming himself ready to tackle what was considered a nigh-impossible fight for someone his level.

”[Flash of the Azure Dragon]!”

Swoosh!

Increasing his movement speed to its limits, Valyr swiftly closed the distance between him and the Myth-level Void Rabbit, the latter belatedly taking note of the young manʼs presence. ”Squeak!!!” Yet, with its stats being higher than Valyr, it did not take long for the rabbit to get ready, radiating immense battle intent as its front paws seemed eager to strike.

”Take this!” Eventually, the young man arrived before the rabbit, slashing down diagonally with his spear as a probing attack of sorts.

In response, the rabbit used one of its paws to swat it off and push Valyr off balance, making use of its free paw to land an insidious attack on the young man.

”[Blink of the Azure Dragon]!”

Fwoosh!

Unfortunately, before its paw could even land on Valyr, the young man had already turned into a dark blue cloud, disappearing before the rabbitʼs very eyes.

Pushing its perception to the fullest, it did not take long for the rabbit to find the one that decided to annoy it, seeing it stand to the right side of its torso.

”Take this!” With a faint smile of victory adorning his face, Valyr attempted his attack once more, slashing down with his spear on the rabbitʼs torso.

Puchi!

Feeling the spear tip dig through the rabbitʼs skin, a feeling of elation washed over the young man as he felt that he had a fighting chance in defeating the rabbit before him.

Yet, when he took a look at the damage he dealt to it, he was forced to think otherwise.

ʼ-1ʼ

”...Just one point?” murmured Valyr to himself, feeling immense disbelief that his current state could not break through the minimum threshold of the already weakened Damage Restriction System.

Unsurprisingly, Sellifer was left at a loss for words as well, not expecting the young man to deal damage that was usually expected for someone of his rank.

”Watch out!” However, before she could dwell on why Valyr couldnʼt deal that much damage to the rabbit, Sellifer noticed that his opponent was finally making its move, warning the young man beforehand.

”Huh?” Hearing Sellifer shout all of a sudden, Valyr snapped from his daze as he noticed a dark mass swiftly heading in his direction.

With that, he inwardly thanked Sellifer as he defended against the attack.

”[Refined Mana Shield]!”

Whoosh!

Conjuring a shield in front of him, Valyr placed his spear before him in the hopes of deflecting the weakened power of the rabbitʼs paws.

Unfortunately, what happened instead was...

Bang!

ʼ-33,169ʼ

”Kuaaack!!!”

Though heʼd already bolstered his defenses to what were his usual limits, Valyrʼs mana shield immediately crumpled under the force of the rabbitʼs paw, only being able to reduce some of the momentum that was imbued within the attack.

With most of the momentum still remaining within the paw, it was no surprise that all of that was transmitted through Valyrʼs body, causing his arms to fold in on itself from the force as he was sent flying towards a nearby tree.

Crash!

With his back colliding straight on with the trunk of one of the nearby trees, an immense amount of pain immediately covered Valyrʼs back as he soon fell to the ground with a thud. ”Agh...” Slightly regretting the fact that the internal shape of his armor was slightly pointy, Valyr gritted his teeth as he forced himself to endure the pain, only to be forced to roll to the side as the rabbit attempted yet another attack.

Bang!

Though Valyr was barely able to dodge what he could only consider as a death blow, the same could not be said for the tree he collided against, turning into a maelstrom of wooden pulp from the wrath of the Void Rabbit alone.

Briefly catching his breath from having dodged a deadly attack, Valyr immediately decided to widen the gap between the two of them, activating a couple of his recovery skills with mana in

the process.

”[Advanced Heal]!”

”[Advanced Regeneration]!”

Fwoosh!

At the moment those skills took effect on his body, Valyr instantly felt a great portion of the pain radiating from his back subside, allowing him to let out a sigh of relief as he felt his body gradually mending the damage heʼd accrued from the rabbitʼs attack.

At the same time, he pushed his perception to its limits, even going so far as to activate [Hunterʼs Tracking Eyes] as he began to realize that the rabbit hadnʼt truly become serious

yet.

ʼThat was just one of its normal attacks, yet it already reduced my health by half,ʼ thought Valyr to himself, feeling immense dread just from imagining the Void Rabbit unleashing its

skills.

”I need to avoid taking as much damage from the Void Rabbit as possible,” murmured the young man to himself not long after, briefly glancing behind him to see if the Void Rabbit was

following him.

Of course, as the one who incensed the rabbit, it went without saying that the Void Rabbit was following behind Valyrʼs footsteps.

However, rather than make use of all of its agility to kill the being that annoyed it, the Void Rabbit instead moved at a leisurely pace, seemingly mocking Valyrʼs lacking capabilities in

both combat and speed.

”Thatʼs it.”

Realizing what the Void Rabbit was doing, a flame of annoyance began to smolder deep

within Valyrʼs body, gradually growing stronger as he eventually stopped in his tracks.

Taking in a deep breath to calm himself down, he then faced the Void Rabbit once more before

activating one of the strongest skills in his arsenal.

”[Descent of the True Wyvern].”

Whoosh!

With more power than before, Valyr closed the gap between him and the Void Rabbit once

more, catching the latter unaware due to the sudden increase in combat strength.

Now that he had an idea of how strong the Void Rabbit was compared to him... It was due time for him to even the playing field once more.
