MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 954: Similar Thoughts

At the very moment Valyr landed his finishing blow on the final rabbit, Sellifer was left at an utter loss for words as she stared at the crimson six-digit number that appeared above its head.

If she were to put any other person that had the same rank as Valyr within the same situation, she was certain that they would only be able to deal damage to the Void Rabbit ranging from the hundreds at worst, to thousands at best.

Yet, with the help of his buffs and various skills, Valyr was able to exceed that figure by a long shot, dealing damage that would even leave many Legends at a complete loss for words.

ʼConsidering how heʼs capable of dealing a similar amount of damage even to those at the beginning of Rank 6, I guess even Myths would be deathly afraid of him,ʼ thought Sellifer to herself, taking in a few deep breaths to calm herself down.

After that, she thought about her words from before regarding how she wanted to see the young manʼs combat capabilities without relying on the arquebus.

While Sellifer was mulling over what she told the young man far before the latter killed the Void Rabbit before him, Valyr briefly took a look at the rewards heʼd gained from the fight.

Ding!

[With a 10+ level disparity between the user and the opponent, the amount of experience obtained shall be increased by 200%.]

[You have slain a Level 100 Void Rabbit (Divine Elite). You have gained 18,193,734 XP.]

[Your Shadow Energy has improved by 189 points.]

[You have made progress in realizing the next stage of Slayer of Ascendants (579/10,000).] ʼHuh.ʼ Noticing that the amount of Shadow Energy heʼd gotten from the Void Rabbit was roughly around half of what he got from the Myth-level Void Rabbit, Valyr faintly nodded in understanding.

ʼWell, Iʼm not surprised that killing a Void Rabbit at the peak of Rank 5 yields less shadow Energy,ʼ thought the young man to himself. ʼAfter all, a Myth-level Void Rabbit is far scarier to deal with compared to the former.ʼ

ʼItʼs only thanks to the arquebus that Iʼm able to deal with it with ease,ʼ Valyr continued with his train of thought, faintly smiling in pride as he recalled the massive damage he dealt the moment he fired that shot.

Though, as he thought about it for a bit more, the thought of the fight just now soon surfaced in his mind, causing the gears in Valyrʼs mind to start turning.

ʼI wonder...ʼ inwardly muttered Valyr to himself. ʼWould I be able to defeat a Myth-level Void Rabbit this easily if I were to rely on [Four Paths Azure Liberation]?ʼ

Thinking about how the whole fight unfolded just now, it did not take long for the young man to realize that the fight against the Void Rabbit was mostly one-sided.

Even though the Void Rabbit boasted stats that were far greater than what Valyr had, the latter made up for it with the various skills and techniques in his arsenal, as well as the combat experience heʼd accrued both in his past and current life.

Then again, the seemingly even field immediately shifted towards Valyrʼs favor after he made use of [Four Paths Azure Liberation], giving him access to skills that had no cooldown, yet had equal strength to his ultimate techniques.

With that in mind, he began to ponder over his chances of succeeding in a similar fight without relying on [Four Paths Azure Liberation].

ʼThere might be times where I think itʼll be difficult, but still doable,ʼ Valyr surmised, reminding himself that he had a plethora of defensive skills he could use to mitigate the damage from the Void Rabbitʼs various attacks.

At the same time, he also had a series of movement skills he could use to dodge some of the attacks, which he did use somewhat often during the fight just now.

ʼIʼll probably have to take a more defensive approach if I were to fight one that way since they have greater agility than me,ʼ Valyr inwardly said to himself, closing his screen as he turned around to look at Sellifer.

Continuing to ponder over the various thoughts going on in his head, Valyr soon froze in place as he stared into Selliferʼs eyes as a random thought popped up in his head.

Similarly, Sellifer had the same idea pop up in her head, prompting her to freeze in place as well as the two of them stared at each other.

As for the thought that popped up in their minds?

ʼWhat if I were to fight against a Myth-level Void Rabbit without relying on [Four Paths Azure Liberation]?ʼ

ʼWhat if Valyr were to fight against a Myth-level Void Rabbit without relying on that peculiar skill of his?ʼ

As these thoughts popped up in their heads, the two continued looking at each other for a bit more before eventually coming to a tacit agreement, nodding in understanding after that.

”I suppose you have the same idea as I do?” asked Sellifer with a faint smile, wanting to make sure they were on the same page.

Valyr nodded with a slight chuckle. ”If itʼs fighting against a Myth-level Void Rabbit without relying on the arquebus, then yeah. I think so.”

”Without relying on that peculiar skill of yours as well, preferably,” added Sellifer, to which the young man bitterly smiled.

”I canʼt use it even if I wanted to,” said Valyr in response. ”It takes a day for that skill to be off cooldown.”

”That long, huh?” Pondering over Valyrʼs words in silence, Sellifer eventually nodded in understanding. ”It makes sense, seeing how it quickly transforms you into a demon of the battlefield.”

”Iʼve got to say, the Serpent Maiden didnʼt skimp out on her rewards.”

Hearing those words come out of Sellifer all of a sudden, Valyr was caught unaware as he looked at her with his mouth slightly agape.

Wondering how she knew about it, the young man asked her a few questions on the topic as the two began to search for Valyrʼs next target.

Letting out a chuckle in response to his questions, Sellifer dispelled the domain she created as she told the young man that she already had an idea of what the Serpent Maiden gave him the moment she took a look-see with her energy.

”I immediately felt the presence of the Shadowsource during that time,” said Sellifer as they continued to roam the Void World. ”Considering that it was near impossible for one to get close to it through natural means, that only meant the Serpent Maiden had you made contact

with it.”

”Then, knowing the Serpent Maiden, Iʼm sure she didnʼt just stop at bringing you to the Shadowsource as her reward,” she continued with a bit of laughter. ”If youʼre thinking I also know exactly what rewards you got from her, I donʼt.”

”All I know is that itʼs improved your control and integration of Azure Energy to your skills by a lot,” said Sellifer. ”Well, it would be more appropriate to call it Prime Azure Energy now,

no?”

After clarifying a few more things regarding the Serpent Maidenʼs rewards with Sellifer, the two eventually continued on their journey through the Void World, finding one that fit the bill after a few hours.
