Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 1144: Chapter 1143: How Did We End Up Talking About Medical Ethics?

Gu Tong leaned against the lecture desk, smiled slightly, and said, ”This class is not about heart knowledge, nor is it about new medical discovery cases. That’s not the focus. What we want to talk about is medical ethics!”

Internal medicine students: ”???” What, what is she talking about?

Elective course students: ”???” Don’t look at us, we don’t know either...

Assistant Teacher Jiang Lihao twitched the corners of his mouth: ”???” How did it shift to medical ethics? There’s no connection at all, come on...

Gu Tong ignored their reactions and continued, ”We are doctors in Longxing Country. Every patient in our hands is a life! Whether it’s a minor inflammation or a cancer patient, from the day we receive our doctor license, we are responsible for their lives.”

The topic was suddenly elevated, and all the students fell silent at that moment.

Since the day they started studying medicine, they knew they would eventually become doctors, with the future mission of treating people, and they took pride in this profession of being an angel in white.

The words Teacher Gu Tong just said, they had heard many times before, but for some reason, just now, they found her words very shocking, real...

In that inadvertent moment, they resonated!

Gu Tong continued, ”So, we’re back to the previous topic: heart hormones are secreted under a positive mindset or mood! A doctor’s words can invisibly boost hormone production, just by saying ’you will get better,’ ’believe in yourself, keep going,’ encouraging patients can increase their chances of recovery.”

Encouraging patients...

The doctor-patient relationship issue, huh.

This issue, today’s students have not yet encountered, so it is not profound.

Gu Tong pursed her lips, involuntarily recalling the past, and said, ”You have not yet entered a hospital, have not come into contact with various patients, so you cannot understand these things, what you hear is the stories passed down by older doctors, which is also the story I want to tell, but it is a final summary!”

Summary, huh...

The students were intently watching Gu Tong, all eyes drawn to her, their eyes filled with light.

”Being a doctor is an annoying profession, as long as we are on the job, we face disease, life, old age, illness, and death. The patients we encounter are suffering, and there is no smile on their faces! Because they are about to face the verdict of fate!

Of course, we are doctors, not saviors from suffering, we cannot completely eliminate their suffering, so during diagnosis and treatment, the only thing we can provide is a smile! This seemingly simple thing is, however, what is ultimately lost.”

Such a sunny theory...

The students rarely hear this theory.

On ordinary days...

When other teachers lecture, there is a lot of content in one class, and it’s good enough if they finish without running over time, there’s no time to discuss such theories...

Of course, it’s not that other teachers don’t know, but it’s gradually faded by the wear and tear of the industry, after spending a long time in the medical field, the mindset changes, the feelings originally like treating patients as family also gradually disappear.

So...

The elective course teacher tells them not to forget their original intention!!!

Putting aside the upcoming competitions and exams, putting aside the future employment difficulties, to ask directly about your soul, ’Why did you want to become a doctor in the first place?’

It’s definitely not for exams, definitely not for employment! But to save lives.

They all have a heart for medicine, the desire to alleviate the pain of patients.

Gu Tong’s inadvertent words, are equivalent to profound guidance, telling the students, first become a person with flesh and blood, with enthusiasm, and then become a good doctor loved by others.
