Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 814: Chapter 813: Are the Wei Family and the Feng Family Enemies?

No wonder the Feng Family places such importance on the matter of the ancestral hall; after all, it is the resting place of the ancestors. If any trouble arises, it would be considered unfilial by the descendants.

”I just heard it was a family matter. How did it get linked to the ancestral hall?” Gu Tong questioned once more.

Indeed, if it’s a matter between the Wei Family and the Feng Family, it is a family affair. Suddenly involving the ancestors seems inexplicable to anyone.

”Sister, you might not know... Our Feng Family’s ancestral hall was originally built in ancient times. Later, in the early days of Longxing Country, the elders of the Feng Family made significant contributions. Moreover, the Feng Family volunteered to purchase the land, thus protecting the old ancestral hall.”

”However, the Feng Family’s land has a time limit. When calculated fully, there’s only ten years left until the term expires. But... at this time, the Wei Family caught people off guard by purchasing all the land surrounding the old ancestral hall extensively, preparing to expand the tourism industry.”

”Our old ancestral hall stands there; it’s not feasible to renovate, nor is it feasible not to renovate. Moreover, we’ve recently received exact information that the Wei Family wants to acquire the land usage rights of the old ancestral hall. With their ownership of the surrounding land, they have the right of first refusal. This situation is very disadvantageous for the Feng Family. If the Feng Family’s ancestral hall is destroyed, how could we face the ancestors of the family?”

As members of the Feng Family, protecting the family’s old ancestral hall is their duty. But now, with this matter arising, the descendants of the Feng Family are extremely distressed, fearing that the Wei Family will suddenly act to buy the future land usage rights of the ancestral hall.

Originally the outstanding talents of the Feng siblings, they were caught off guard by this situation, which has been keeping them restless day and night.

If anything happens to the old ancestral hall, they would probably be seen as the eternal sinners of the Feng Family.

”Does the Wei Family have a grudge against the Feng Family?”

Gu Tong suddenly asked this question, confused as well.

After all, if there were no enmity, they wouldn’t suddenly offend the massive Feng Family. For them, it would be nothing but harm and no benefit.

”This... the elders say no...” Chai Ziyang shook his head, denying such a possibility. When the matter first occurred, he also wondered if there was some enmity with the Wei Family.

However, all the elders of the family denied this possibility. They could only heed the words of the elders and accept this situation.

But on careful consideration, over the years, the Wei Family indeed indulged in unscrupulous things, using various underhanded means to offend many people in the family.

”So, do they mean for us to purchase the nearby land?”

The Wei Family must have a purpose for doing this. If not to humiliate the Feng Family, then with sinister tricks, they likely intend to extract a significant sum of money from the Feng Family.

”Not at all...” Chai Ziyang shook his head again, saying, ”They are neither selling the land nor yielding to pressure. It’s very difficult to deal with. Even now, in our negotiations, we still don’t know their true purpose?”

Saying such things to his sister whom he met for the first time, Chai Ziyang felt he was utterly incapable.

Unable to handle such a trivial matter, thinking of this, he couldn’t help but sigh.

”Brother, don’t worry. We still have ten years of usage rights, so just be the nail household of the Southern Suburb. If they want to alter the ancestral hall, it’s not a simple matter. There must be something fishy, handle recruiters like an army and ward off water with soil. Brother, don’t worry. Slowly figure out the situation, then find a way to respond,” Gu Tong comforted, subtly telling them they still had ten years, and there was no need to rush.

Moreover, she always felt that the priorities in this matter were reversed. From the current situation, it should be the Wei Family who is most anxious. Why would her two brothers be in such a rush? It didn’t seem normal.

”Hmm, that’s good.” Chai Ziyang, of course, knew Gu Tong was comforting him, but he admired his little sister’s calm analysis in the face of the situation. He responded, his mood significantly improved.
