Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 531: 531: How come the Earl is getting better and better at flirting?

Dusk had arrived.

Gu Tong laid down the medical books she had studied all day and picked up a pen, jotting notes in her white notebook.

These were her notes on medications to combat SARS!

There was also a preventive recipe for the kitchen staff.

She had also modified it with some cases, incorporating ingredients most frequently used, namely rice vinegar and chili peppers!

Rice vinegar has a disinfecting effect, and to some extent, it can kill bacteria, while chili peppers were an experience gained from some cases.

Gu Tong remembered that during the peak of the SARS outbreak, Chuan City had the fewest cases. It was full of people who liked spicy food, and even if there were infections, they were milder, so it also had a preventive effect.

Gu Tong combined these factors and meticulously made preventive modifications!

After several iterations, it was preliminarily perfected, just waiting to be handed to Xue Zhengping tomorrow.

Having finally completed the task, Gu Tong felt the tiredness setting in, her fingers somewhat sore and numb.

She raised her arms accordingly, rubbing her small hands together to relieve some fatigue.

Her actions didn’t last long before her pale little hands were enveloped by a big palm.

Li Yan leaned down to Gu Tong’s ear, with a minty breath, saying, ”Tired, aren’t you?”

His voice was tender and soft, and his actions were gentle beyond measure, his fingers massaging every inch of Gu Tong’s little hands, attempting to soothe her fatigue.

”When did you get back?”

Gu Tong was slightly taken aback, clearly startled by the sudden tenderness. She had been in the room all along...

How did she not know Li Yan had returned...

”You were too focused, I didn’t dare to disturb you.”

In the afternoon, after Gu Qing gave him time off, Li Yan returned.

He quietly opened the door, wanting to give Gu Tong a surprise, but upon seeing the little woman still engrossed and striving hard, he didn’t disturb her and just watched her serious demeanor.

He had to admit, the little woman seriously looking things up was indeed beautiful.

So much so that Li Yan kept watching her, unwilling to move away.

Unknowingly, it was already evening.

”You’ve been standing behind me all along...”

Gu Tong’s mouth twitched.

To know, she merely had to raise her hand to feel it enveloped by Li Yan’s large palm, proving he was standing behind her all along...

And for quite some time...

Thinking about this scene, why did it seem so eerie.

”I suppose so.”

Li Yan ambiguously answered, clearly not intending to explain.

His deep-set eyes gazed at the notebook on Gu Tong’s desk and asked, ”What have you been busy with?”

Li Yan stood behind her for quite a while, yet he didn’t understand the content described in it.

However, throughout the afternoon, Gu Tong had no idea how much material she had reviewed, with many medical books opened on her desk, all marked with red highlights, jotting down notes and records.

He was somewhat impressed.

”Doctor Xue said there’s an outbreak in the East District, with many cases appearing. I’m looking up materials to see if there are any preventive measures.”

Gu Tong closed the notebook, tapped it twice, and continued, ”The East District is quite close to our Academy, so we need to make preventive arrangements in advance. I’ve prepared a recipe for the kitchen staff that has preventive effects, but it would be a bit of a sacrifice for you all—lately, the dishes are either sour or spicy, and they must be eaten.”

”I don’t mind, the trainees won’t be picky either.”

Preventing the epidemic is the most important thing, and the taste of dishes is irrelevant to Li Yan.

His head leaned towards Gu Tong’s ear, continuing to whisper, ”I’ll eat more of the dishes Madam has crafted.”

As soon as the words fell,

Gu Tong’s face flushed red...

Her Earl was getting more and more flirty...

Who on earth did he learn it from...
