Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 205: 205: It’s better than being treated as a target

”I’m afraid of a lot of things!”

Gu Tong’s eyes were like torches, fixing on them, and she said word by word, ”I’m afraid there are too many wounded, we can’t save them all, I’m afraid the other Royal Doctors are not competent enough! They can’t even help me.”

As soon as she finished speaking, the inside of the jeep fell silent. They weren’t fools; if they couldn’t understand Gu Tong’s meaning, how could they call themselves Battlefield Royal Doctors? Wouldn’t it disgrace that honorable title!

”Brother Tong, it’s not that we’re cowards, but this is our first time on the battlefield, we have no experience at all... You know it too, in our line of work, we see a lot of blood, but we’ve never killed anyone...”

Xie Yongfei explained, hoping Gu Tong could understand his feelings. After all, with bullets flying like this, anyone would be afraid.

”If you’re really used to being coddled in the operating room, then don’t come to be a Royal Doctor. Is it rare for Royal Doctors to kill enemies on the battlefield?” Gu Tong’s smile was cold, her eyes filled with evident disappointment.

If the Royal Doctors don’t have the proper demeanor, then how can this team sustain itself? Battlefield medical care has always been an indispensable part, and it can save the lives of the trainees!

The two exchanged a glance but didn’t continue talking because they sensed Gu Tong’s disappointment. But they were just rookies, was it really necessary to be so harsh? People are always afraid...

...

”Keep firing, push them back! We’ll disembark quickly and find a place to hide.”

Li Yan ordered again. The situation had changed, and they now had enough time to get out.

”Earl, should we abandon the cars?”

Lu Lijun felt heartbroken. Without the cars, moving would be a problem, and they’d indeed have to proceed on foot then.

”Better than being sitting ducks! Follow orders!”

The jeep convoy was large and too conspicuous. If they didn’t abandon the cars, they were sure to become targets for the bandits.

Moreover, not all the Weapons Dealers had gathered. Once they did, they’d be surrounded.

Lu Lijun didn’t speak further because he knew the Earl was right. As a special trainee, he also understood how to make decisions at such crucial moments.

”Sniper team, prepare to engage the enemy with all strength! Find the chance to abandon the cars!”

Li Yan picked up the walkie-talkie once again, but this time he was speaking to all the vehicles.

War had already begun, and there wasn’t a minute to relax.

...

”What, what... abandon the car...”

Li Yunping shivered even more violently; he could hardly believe what his ears were hearing.

They were currently armored men, with at least a layer of defense. But if they really abandoned the cars, they would be barehanded, and a single artifact could take their lives...

”Is Earl Li crazy, abandoning the car at such a critical moment? We’d be shot to pieces...” Li Yunping countered.

Xie Yongfei wasn’t much better off, his legs starting to tremble. He said, ”We Royal Doctors don’t have that kind of endurance, we can’t keep up with Specialty Pavilion Academy. Can’t we apply not to abandon the cars, talk with Earl Li, consider the grassroots trainees’ feelings...”

They muttered under their breath, fear displayed on their faces, and had already thought of reasons to negotiate with Li Yan.

It was their first time on the battlefield, with no combat experience, and managing not to wet themselves was already an achievement.

Having thought of this, they looked at Gu Tong for help, almost as if negotiating, hoping she could talk to the commander about not abandoning the cars or perhaps taking special care of them...
