Reborn and Counterattack: The CEO's Powerful Sweetheart

Chapter 169: 169: Mom will definitely take care of you

If Gu Tong truly harbors some ulterior motive, why would she go sightseeing with Li Yan? It’s yet another paradox!

Kun wavered.

Because he had also accidentally discovered Gu Tong at that time, he only captured her to save someone. If it weren’t for his sudden discovery, Gu Tong would never have appeared here.

A person without a motive to commit a crime doesn’t pose a threat.

”But that doesn’t mean you’re just an ordinary person!”

This was Kun’s biggest concern. Gu Tong’s skills and her ability to heal illnesses with ease were all questionable issues.

”Mr. Kun, a device is yours; it’s your ally. If it cuts you, it’s your enemy! I saved you, helped you and Miss Misya escape, and even treated your friend! What is a knife, and what is a tool—I believe Mr. Kun should know how to choose.”

”Yes, Kun... Miss Gu is right, put the device down...”

Even though Misya was worried and afraid, she didn’t want Kun to accidentally harm Gu Tong. At the very least, in her eyes, Gu Tong posed no threat.

Kun tightly gripped the laser, his finger trembling on the trigger. He admitted that Gu Tong was a dangerous woman, but he also had to admit that she had persuaded him. At the very least, repaying kindness with enmity was absolutely not the act of a hero!

He was not so despicable, nor did he disdain to do such a disgusting thing.

The muzzle of the device shifted away, but Gu Tong didn’t think she was safe yet. She hadn’t escaped this predicament; all of this was only temporary!

...

”There are bloodstains here. They must be hiding here—search!”

A clamor erupted outside the warehouse, mixed with the sounds of chains and barking dogs.

This sound startled the three in the dark, making their hearts leap.

Because no one expected them to bring hunting dogs, the noses of these dogs were the most acute. As long as they were given an item to track, they could follow the scent to catch up!

”Kun, what do we do...”

Misya clung to Kun’s coattail, speaking timidly.

Kun didn’t speak, instead responding by gripping Misya’s hand and softly shushing her. The situation was critical, and the slightest noise would attract the enemies’ attack—absolutely no mistakes were allowed.

Gu Tong rolled her eyes, nearly fainting. Even while fleeing for their lives, they didn’t forget to show off their affection. She was very much against this public display of affection...

She really wanted to remind them that personal safety was the top priority right now, hey!

Kun crouched down, sharply watching the movements ahead. The sounds were getting closer. Suddenly, he moved, pulling out a device, turning around with the muzzle aimed at Gu Tong!

Gu Tong raised an eyebrow but saw Kun’s movements change. He turned the muzzle and handed the grip towards her.

This was a gesture of handing over a weapon!

”What do you mean?” Gu Tong whispered.

Kun stared at Gu Tong for a moment, speaking in a calm voice: ”Just as you said, you’re not an enemy! We’re in this together!”

Once the enemy troops broke in, no one in this warehouse would survive. Only by fighting side by side could they ensure their survival.

So Kun chose to trust Gu Tong, even as a way to entrust his life to her.

Gu Tong glanced at him, then at the weapon, and took it, saying coldly: ”Don’t think that just because you trust me now, I can forget your previous hostile attitude. Once this life-and-death battle is over, I’ll definitely settle the score with you!”

Kun chuckled quietly, saying: ”I’m really looking forward to it!”

On the battlefield, such things happened often. Turning enemies into friends in an instant was no longer something new.
