Chapter 230: Chapter 229: Flawless Pill

When Master Yuan Chun learned that Ling Fei had successfully created a pill, he was ecstatic.

Such talent was a rare sight, seen only once in a thousand years!

The news naturally reached Sect Leader Yuan as well.

All the Peak Masters of the Seven Peaks received the news.

”What! That Ling Fei has already succeeded at alchemy? I’m going to watch him tomorrow.”

”He’s that good? I don’t believe it. I have to see for myself.”

All at once, the Elders were stunned. Every one of them wanted to watch Ling Fei perform alchemy.

However, Ling Fei was completely unaware of this. After returning to the disciples’ residence, he went to the medicine garden to check on his herbs.

Only after seeing the herbs growing so well did Ling Fei relax and go to recover his Soul Power.

For the past three months, he had been studying alchemy every day, constantly depleting and restoring his Soul Power.

Through this repetition, his soul had become incomparably solid and stable.

In truth, Ling Fei’s Soul Power was so immense that a single day of alchemy couldn’t possibly exhaust it all.

However, continuous alchemy would tire out one’s Heart Spirit.

But after three months of this routine, the endurance of his Heart Spirit had long since surpassed its previous limits.

「The next morning.」

Ling Fei prepared the ingredients for the Celestial Essence Pill early and rode a Golden Eagle to Alchemy Peak.

’So many people?’ Ling Fei froze when he walked into the Alchemy Room.

In front of the lecture stage at the front of the Alchemy Room were several thrones, upon which sat a few familiar Elders.

Master Yuan Chun, Sect Leader Yuan, Grand Elder Fang, and all Seven Great Peak Masters were there.

In addition, there were several other Elders Ling Fei didn’t recognize.

Evidently, they had all come specifically to watch him after hearing about his talent for alchemy.

”Ling Fei greets the Sect Leader, the Peak Masters, and the Elders...” Ling Fei bowed to the crowd.

”Haha, Ling Fei. After hearing the news of your success, the Sect’s Elders came here specially to observe your alchemy. You don’t need to be nervous. Just proceed as you normally would. Of course, you must improve upon yesterday’s shortcomings today, understand?” Master Yuan Lang said as he walked over.

”Yes!” Ling Fei nodded. But as he glanced up at the smiling Elders, he couldn’t help but mutter to himself, ’I just succeeded at making a pill, that’s all. Is it really worth all this fuss? Or do they suspect I only succeeded through luck?’ He looked up, grumbling inwardly.

”You brat, do you think succeeding at alchemy after just three months of study is easy?” Master Yuan Lang had overheard Ling Fei’s muttering.

He couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

’This kid has no idea how heaven-defying it is to create a pill after only three months, does he?’ The Elders at the front stroked their beards and smiled.

With their high Cultivation, they could hear in all directions. They could even hear a mosquito’s buzz, let alone Ling Fei’s muttering.

But they weren’t angry; on the contrary, they seemed extremely pleased.

Seeing their expressions, Ling Fei looked embarrassed.

”Master, may I use the ingredients I brought myself for the alchemy?” Ling Fei asked after a moment of awkwardness.

”If you have the ingredients, then of course you can,” Master Yuan Lang said with a smile.

’Great!’ Ling Fei was delighted. ’Now I can test if these ingredients that have undergone Spirit Awakening will have any special effects.’

Ling Fei had brought four sets of ingredients in total.

After taking out the ingredients and placing them beside the Pill Platform, he activated the Array Platform. He immersed his Heart Spirit, skillfully took control of the Array Patterns, and summoned the fire.

WHOOSH!

The Earth Fire surged forth, appearing inside the Pill Furnace and beginning to warm it.

A moment later, Ling Fei began to toss the ingredients inside.

Everything seemed calm and unhurried. His Heart Spirit was completely immersed in the furnace, as if he had forgotten about the group of elders observing him.

”Not bad. This is how alchemy should be done. Only with single-minded focus can one control the Pill Furnace.” Seeing this, Master Yuan Chun stroked his white beard and nodded repeatedly.

”This Ling Fei certainly looks the part when he’s performing alchemy. He has the presence of an Alchemist,” the other Elders nodded as well.

Inside the Pill Furnace, Ling Fei refined the medicinal herbs one by one into a liquid essence, releasing a pleasant fragrance.

’The medicinal properties of these herbs are clearly stronger than ordinary ones.’ While refining the herbs, Ling Fei was also observing the subtle fluctuations.

’The impurities in the medicinal liquid are almost negligible.’

’Is this the effect of Spirit Awakening?’ Ling Fei was overjoyed as the herbs were refined into liquid one by one.

Most medicinal herbs in the world contain impurities.

It’s difficult for an ordinary person to refine them completely, so elixirs inevitably have some side effects.

If the ingredients contain very few impurities, the quality of the refined elixir will naturally increase.

Its medicinal efficacy will also be stronger than an ordinary elixir.

So, seeing how few impurities were in the medicinal liquid, Ling Fei was naturally ecstatic.

Furthermore, the medicinal fragrance was richer and purer than that of similar herbs.

’It seems the Spirit Awakening Dao Pattern really works!’ Ling Fei rejoiced inwardly.

The Elders, however, watched Ling Fei’s alchemy in silence.

An hour later, the fragrance of the pill filled the air, wafting throughout the entire Alchemy Room.

After smelling that fragrance, every one of the Sect’s Elders was inwardly shaken.

”Why is this pill fragrance so rich?” The Peak Master of Water Essence Peak furrowed his brow and glanced at Master Yuan Chun.

The other Peak Masters also turned to look at him with the same expression.

Everyone was astonished.

Although they weren’t Alchemists, they had watched many people perform alchemy.

While it was true that a finished pill would always have a fragrance, those scents clearly couldn’t compare to this one.

This fragrance seeped into their pores, making their entire bodies feel refreshed and comfortable.

The sensation was simply marvelous.

It was almost the same as when they entered grotto-heavens and blessed lands rich with Essence Qi.

The wonderful feeling made one want to immerse themselves in it and never leave.

”This pill fragrance is clearly superior to yesterday’s!” Master Yuan Lang was also stunned, staring at the Pill Furnace in front of him in utter astonishment.

THUD! 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

At that moment, Ling Fei had already flicked open the furnace lid.

He drew a single elixir out from within the furnace.

The elixir was golden. The moment it was taken out, a hazy mist could be seen rising from it. A rich pill fragrance assailed the nostrils, and a single breath of it was deeply refreshing.

’For the Celestial Essence Pill, there are still a few ingredients I haven’t applied Spirit Awakening to, like the Golden Glaze Flower. That’s because this kind of Spiritual Essence isn’t easy to cultivate to maturity,’ Ling Fei murmured to himself as he sensed the elixir’s fragrance. ’However, after adding a few ingredients that underwent Spirit Awakening, the elixir’s Medicinal Qi has clearly increased.’

He was very satisfied with this elixir.

”The pill is formed!” At this, the seven Peak Masters couldn’t help but stand up, their eyes fixed on the palm of Ling Fei’s hand.

”Quick, let’s see the quality of the elixir,” a few of the Elders said eagerly.

They were all desperate to know the result of Ling Fei’s efforts.

Yuan Lang the Pill Master impatiently took the elixir from Ling Fei’s hand.

The moment the elixir touched his hand, Yuan Lang the Pill Master’s heart trembled.

’The elixir is warm and smooth, its fragrance pervasive. The qi enters the Heart Spirit, making one’s very cells and flesh feel as if they are starving for it. This is clearly a top-grade elixir in terms of medicinal properties.’

Just from holding it, he could already sense many key things about it.

He then carefully observed the elixir’s color and luster.

Yuan Lang the Pill Master was also a Celestial Pill Realm expert. As his Heart Spirit reached out, he immediately took in all the subtle details of the elixir.

”The impurities... there are far fewer than before,” Master Yuan Lang murmured.

”In terms of appearance, although this elixir hasn’t reached Entry Grade, it can be considered an upper-mid quality elixir,” he said to the Elders in front of him.

”An upper-mid quality elixir?” Hearing this, the Elders all showed looks of astonishment.

To be able to refine an elixir of this quality so soon after starting alchemy was incredibly rare.

One must understand, the pills many people made when they first started were full of impurities, even pockmarked and not very round.

But this was only Ling Fei’s second day of alchemy, and he had already refined an upper-mid quality elixir. It was simply astonishing.

”Let us take a look,” said Master Yuan Chun.

”Yes!” Yuan Lang quickly brought the elixir over.

Several Elders immediately gathered around to inspect the pill.

”This pill has some minor flaws, but its Medicinal Qi is incredibly rich. It is indeed an upper-mid quality elixir. If the impurities from the Golden Glaze Flower were completely refined out, it would be a high-grade elixir.” In the end, all the Elders nodded in satisfaction, and Master Yuan Chun spoke with a serious expression.

’Upper-mid quality, huh?’ Ling Fei’s brows raised slightly.

This was the seventh elixir he had refined; achieving this result was not bad.

’Next up is to continue improving the purity,’ Ling Fei thought to himself.

These things had to be done one step at a time; the only way was to continuously accumulate experience.

Then, Ling Fei continued with his alchemy.

The Elders on the platform waited with faces full of anticipation.

An hour later, another elixir was successfully refined.

”Not bad. The impurities in this elixir have clearly decreased,” Master Yuan Chun said, quite satisfied after inspecting it.

”He’s a genius,” the nearby Elders all nodded.

This obvious progress filled them with deep emotion.

One must know that alchemy, while it looked simple, was extremely difficult to improve at, even by a single step.

Sometimes, Alchemists knew full well that they hadn’t completely removed the impurities when refining a certain herb, but were simply unable to improve.

This was because the slightest deviation could affect the medicinal properties of the herb, or even destroy it entirely.

In that case, forget about forming a pill; the entire refinement process would fail.

Another hour passed, and the third elixir was successfully refined.

”There are almost no impurities left.” There was a clear note of excitement in Grand Alchemist Yuan Chun’s voice as he made the announcement.

The eyes of the Elders beside him burned with intensity.

Ling Fei was also happy.

By continuously refining, his control over the alchemy process was growing stronger and stronger.

Finally, the fourth elixir was successfully refined.

”There are no impurities! This pill can be called a Flawless Pill!” When the fourth pill was successfully refined, Master Yuan Chun couldn’t help but rise to his feet and announce.

”What? It’s already a Flawless Pill?” Hearing this, the nearby Sect Leader Yuan looked astonished and quickly took the elixir.

”Here, see for yourself.” Grand Alchemist Yuan Chun handed the elixir to Sect Leader Yuan.

”Indeed, there are no impurities.” After taking the elixir, Sect Leader Yuan immediately inspected it, and what he saw filled him with ecstasy.

What was a Flawless Pill?

It meant an elixir with no impurities. When consuming such an elixir, one only needed to absorb the medicinal power without having to divert focus to refining away impurities.

One must understand, some ordinary people were completely unable to refine those impurities, which would only allow them to accumulate within the meridians, thereby affecting their bodies.

The more of such elixirs one consumed, the more detrimental it was.

These were the side effects of elixirs.

A Flawless Pill meant it had no side effects.

The difference between the two was by no means small.

In the Elixir Realm, only one who could refine a Flawless Pill was worthy of being called an Alchemist.

”This... How long has young brother Ling Fei been studying alchemy? And he’s already refined a Flawless Pill?” The Peak Masters looked at each other in disbelief.

It was simply unbelievable.

Thinking about it now, it felt like a dream.

”Replying to the grand-uncles, it will be three months since Ling Fei joined my Medicine Vein in four days,” Master Yuan Lang said in a rather calm tone.

However, the blood in his veins was boiling with excitement.

One must remember, the Medicine Vein had never produced such a genius before!

For many, the time between succeeding in creating their first pill and refining a Flawless Pill was a full year.

Some even went their entire lives without ever being able to refine a Flawless Pill.

But Ling Fei had done it in just one day!

This disparity made Master Yuan Lang sigh with endless emotion.
