Divine Wilderness Dragon Emperor

Chapter 219: Chapter 218: My Mind Is Made Up

”Ling Fei, why not join my Water Essence Peak?” Suddenly, the Peak Master of Water Essence Peak spoke up. ”With your talent, you can still become a powerhouse if you cultivate Martial Arts. Why be so insistent on alchemy?” To him, it was too dangerous for Ling Fei to pursue alchemy because he now had only one path left.

That was to fuse with Celestial Fire.

However, in the Southern Wilderness, for every hundred people who attempted to fuse with Celestial Fire, ninety-nine perished.

And the one who survived was likely crippled.

If Ling Fei were to meet a tragic end because of this, it would be a waste of a true Martial Arts genius.

The Cold Dao Talent Ling Fei had just demonstrated had already stirred the Water Essence Peak Master’s desire to recruit him.

As soon as he spoke, the atmosphere in the hall grew even more peculiar.

Many of the Peak Masters turned to look at Ling Fei.

In their eyes, this young man was an absolute genius, well worth nurturing.

It would not be wise to let him rashly pursue alchemy.

Upon hearing this, Ling Fei’s brow furrowed slightly.

’He knew his earlier test had disappointed the Sect’s elders.’

’His path to alchemy would likely not be so easy.’

However, Ling Fei had already made up his mind. ’So what if I don’t have a Fire Spirit Body?’

’Even without a Fire Spirit Body, I’ll fuse with Celestial Fire and practice alchemy.’

’After all, didn’t I cultivate my Cold Chi True Qi the same way?’

’It’s just fusing with Celestial Fire!’

’What’s there to be afraid of?’

Ling Fei’s mind was made up, but he also knew that everything depended on whether Medicine Peak was willing to take him in.

Thus, Ling Fei’s gaze shifted toward the Peak Master of Medicine Peak, Master Yuan Chun.

Seeing this, the other Peak Masters also fixed their gazes on Master Yuan Chun. They knew this young man’s fate would be decided by the old master.

”Since you activated the Pill King Cauldron, it means you share a fate with my Medicine Peak. I can allow you to join Medicine Peak and study the art of alchemy. However, you must understand that with your constitution, becoming an Alchemy Master will be exceedingly difficult. First, you must fuse with Celestial Fire. If you fail, you will likely perish.” Master Yuan Chun stared at Ling Fei. ”That being said, are you still willing to join my Medicine Peak to learn the Alchemy Technique?” In the end, he enunciated every single word.

This decision would clearly be a matter of life and death for Ling Fei.

Therefore, Master Yuan Chun felt compelled to give the young man this warning.

”Peak Master, the path of cultivation is fraught with hardship. To distinguish oneself, one must fight for opportunities and seize fortune. Which of these paths is without peril?” Ling Fei looked up, his expression resolute. ”My heart is set on the Dao, and I am fearless. Since I have come to Medicine Peak, how could I possibly shrink back in fear?”

”I will learn the art of alchemy, and I will fuse with a Celestial Fire.”

His final words rang with such force and conviction that every elder in the hall was moved.

”This young man actually has such a firm heart for the Dao!” The various Peak Masters’ eyes filled with admiration.

”Indeed. A Cultivator must have such determination to succeed. But Celestial Fire is so difficult, so very difficult to fuse with,” Sect Leader Yuan murmured.

”Excellent! Since you have such resolve, I will accept you into Medicine Peak,” Master Yuan Chun announced, his face full of admiration as he couldn’t help but raise his voice.

’It has been a very long time since I’ve seen a young man with such a resolute mind!’

”Thank you, Peak Master!” Ling Fei said, bowing deeply.

”Ling Fei, if you ever change your mind about alchemy, you are always welcome at my Water Essence Peak,” the nearby Peak Master of Water Essence Peak said.

If Ling Fei’s innate talent had sparked his desire to recruit him, the young man’s firm heart for the Dao had earned his immense admiration.

’A person like this is worth nurturing.’

”Thank you, Peak Master. I do hope that if I have the chance in the future, I can visit Water Essence Peak to study the Cold Dao Mystical,” Ling Fei said with a smile.

For him, pursuing alchemy didn’t mean abandoning Martial Arts. If the opportunity arose, he truly would go to Water Essence Peak to observe the Cold Dao Mystical.

”Haha, it seems you want to attempt the Dual Cultivation of Alchemy and Martial. If you have the skill, you’re welcome to visit my Body Vein as well. We would welcome you then,” the Peak Master of the Body Vein said with a laugh.

”My Martial Vein would also welcome you to come observe our Martial Arts,” the Peak Master of the Martial Vein added.

By now, everyone had immense admiration for Ling Fei.

The only source of regret was the young man’s lack of a Fire Spirit Body.

Otherwise, his potential would have been a great blessing for the Lingyun Sect.

”It is rare for my fellow Daoists to show such favor. Ling Fei, you must take good care of yourself. Even if you are to fuse with a Celestial Fire, you must not be hasty,” Master Yuan Chun said.

”Yes, I will not disappoint the high hopes you seniors have for me,” Ling Fei said with a bow.

He felt a measure of gratitude toward these elders of the Lingyun Sect.

After all, he had rejected the generous invitations from several peaks, yet none of them had grown angry. Instead, they were willing to keep their doors open for him.

This showed that the Peak Masters of the Lingyun Sect were all magnanimous individuals.

”In that case, we shall hold the initiation ceremony tomorrow!” Master Yuan Chun declared.

”Youwei, first take Ling Fei to his new quarters and familiarize him with Medicine Peak,” he said to Vice Peak Master Fang beside him.

”Yes!” Vice Peak Master Fang nodded.

”Then, I will take my leave,” Ling Fei said, bidding farewell to the elders in the hall.

’He’s a promising young talent. A pity he insists on alchemy.’

’Let’s wait and see. Who knows, perhaps he really can fuse with a Celestial Fire. If he succeeds, it would be a rare opportunity for our Lingyun Sect!’

”That makes sense,” said Sect Leader Yuan. ”In that case, I ask you all to dispatch men to scout the Southern Wilderness and find any signs of a Celestial Fire appearing.”

”Yes!” The Peak Masters all nodded in agreement.

Although Ling Fei wasn’t their disciple, if the Lingyun Sect could produce a Pill King, it would bring immense benefits to them all.

High-Level Elixirs were too scarce in the Southern Wilderness.

Even Master Yuan Chun, whose skill with elixirs was unparalleled, had reached a bottleneck.

...

”You can reside here for the time being.” On a side peak of the Medicine Vein, Vice Peak Master Fang said to Ling Fei.

He had led Ling Fei to a private courtyard overlooking an abyss.

The place was quiet and secluded, far from the residences of ordinary disciples.

Clearly, this was preferential treatment for Ling Fei.

Regardless, Ling Fei was the one who had obtained the Pill King Inheritance. Even if he could never become an Alchemy Master, the inheritance itself was a Supreme Treasure.

In time, Ling Fei might even become a master on Medicine Peak, teaching the Pill King’s Alchemy Technique.

So, one way or another, Ling Fei was of some use to the Lingyun Sect.

Vice Peak Master Fang was certainly not foolish enough to give him the cold shoulder just because Ling Fei lacked a Fire Spirit Vein.

Ling Fei nodded slightly as he looked at the tranquil courtyard.

”The initiation ceremony will be held tomorrow. Your specific duties will be arranged for you then,” said Vice Peak Master Fang.

”Understood,” Ling Fei nodded.

He then entered the courtyard.

The courtyard was very clean. Inside, there was a bedroom and a study. The front yard was filled with flowers and plants, while the backyard, which bordered the mountain forest, had a patch of empty land.

A small stream flowed down from the mountaintop into this clearing, gathering in a small pool, making it an excellent place to cultivate medicinal herbs.

Arriving at his new residence, Ling Fei had not lost his confidence. ’Even though I don’t have True Fire yet, my starting point isn’t any lower than anyone else’s.’

’First, alchemy requires powerful Divine Soul Power. Only then can one control Earth Fire and True Fire to better refine medicinal ingredients.’

’Right now, the strength of my Divine Soul far surpasses that of my peers.’

’Second, I have the Pill King Scripture. The knowledge and experience of the Alchemy Dao recorded within it are unparalleled in the entire Southern Wilderness Martial Arts World.’

’These are all my advantages.’

’The only weakness is the lack of True Fire.’

’Will I really be held back by the lack of True Fire?’ Ling Fei smiled, his eyes shining with confidence.

He then entered the bedroom and sat cross-legged on the couch-bed.

Ling Fei focused his Heart Spirit, letting it sink into his mind, and began to carefully browse the Pill King Scripture branded within.

Within it were Secret Techniques left behind by Yuan Feng Pill King.

They were the best techniques for fusing with a Celestial Fire.
