My Most Beautiful Fiancée

Mu Lin got to work.

Meanwhile, Yun Cheng and his team were utterly astonished. How had Mu Lin found Luo Wanqing so quickly?

They were already reeling from Mu Lin’s incredible power. He had killed the High Monk from Celestial Dragon Temple in just a few moves—that was no ordinary feat.

For that alone, he had earned their utmost respect.

”Mr. Mu! What are you going to do next?”

”What else?” Mu Lin replied. ”I need to find a place to treat her. Miss Luo is covered in wounds. If she isn’t treated soon, it could get serious.”

Jiang Lan ran over and was horrified when she saw the state of Luo Wanqing’s face. ”Miss!”

”Steward Jiang, this isn’t the time for that,” Mu Lin said. ”I need a clean room. Go and prepare one, quickly.”

Jiang Lan snapped back to her senses and nodded repeatedly. This was, after all, her duty as the manor’s steward. ”Right, please wait a moment! I’ll check!”

Hidden Sword Manor had been in business for a long time and was naturally well-funded, so it owned properties in many locations.

Jiang Lan knew the location of all these properties and would periodically visit to manage them and ensure they were kept clean.

After a quick search, Jiang Lan selected a suitable location and turned to Mu Lin.

”Mr. Mu, please follow me. I’ve found the right place!”

Mu Lin gave a faint smile. ”Excellent. But wait a moment, I need to leave some instructions.”

He turned to Yun Cheng. ”Captain Yun, I’ll trouble you to clean up this place. It’s filthy… For these two Grandmaster Guards to so readily assist the wicked, they must have a long list of crimes. Please investigate them thoroughly. Once you have, do what needs to be done. I’m not in your line of work, but since I have this ID,” he said, pulling it out, ”you should at least do a job that I find acceptable, don’t you think?”

When Yun Cheng saw the ID card Mu Lin pulled from his pocket, his heart went cold. He had already heard about Mu Lin’s special status when Jiang Long sent him, and alarm bells instantly went off in his mind.

”I… I understand! Rest assured, sir, I will do my utmost!”

’Clear water has no fish,’ Mu Lin thought. How could someone who had risen to the rank of captain in the Military Suppression Bureau possibly be clean?

’To suggest he was clean would be laughable.’

”Alright, then get to it,” Mu Lin said slowly.

With that, Mu Lin bent down and lifted Luo Wanqing into his arms, ignoring the blood that immediately stained his clothes.

”Jiang Lan, let’s go.”

Mu Lin left, but Yun Cheng and his team members remained frozen to the spot, unable to move for a long time.

They were terrified. After treating Mu Lin the way they had, if he decided to hold a grudge, how viciously would he retaliate? They couldn’t help but regret their earlier attitude toward him. ’Couldn’t we have been just a little nicer?’

They didn’t know if being a bit nicer would have made any difference to Mu Lin, but at least they wouldn’t be feeling so anxious now.

”Captain, our attitude earlier was awful. He’s not going to hold a grudge against us, is he?”

Yun Cheng shook his head. ”I don’t know, but we can only pray he won’t. You’ve all seen his power—it’s unfathomable. Even I might not be able to defeat Master Mingjing that easily. He’s far stronger than I am…”

Hearing their captain’s assessment, the color drained from the team members’ faces.

”So, you all need to be careful around him. He’s so young, yet he commands such high prestige even among Grandmasters. He must be a prodigy cultivated by some major power—one of their absolute best. His future potential is limitless.”

This only terrified the team members more. They began racking their brains for ways to apologize to Mu Lin, to get on his good side.

They weren’t hoping for him to carry them to new heights of success; they just prayed he wouldn’t hold them accountable for their actions.

Mu Lin followed Jiang Lan to a small, well-furnished apartment owned by Luo Wanqing.

On the way, he stopped at an apothecary to buy the necessary medicinal herbs.

Jiang Lan was heartbroken during the entire ride, cradling Luo Wanqing and letting her head rest on her lap.

Her heart ached as she looked at the wounds on Luo Wanqing’s face.

Luo Wanqing had once been so beautiful she could charm anyone, even other women, but now the sight of her was simply one of utter despair.

’Heaven only knows what they did to you.’

Mu Lin turned and saw Jiang Lan crying. He said comfortingly,

”Don’t worry, I’ve come fully prepared. I won’t let Miss Luo be disfigured. I guarantee I’ll have her fully recovered, without a single scar left behind.”

Jiang Lan glared at Mu Lin. ”Don’t lie to me. How could it possibly go that smoothly?”

”But it can,” Mu Lin said. ”If you don’t believe me, fine. But when I’m done and she’s all better, and she asks me what your contribution was, I’ll just have to tell Miss Luo that Steward Jiang’s main contribution was insisting that it was impossible to heal her without leaving a single scar.”

Jiang Lan’s face filled with panic. ”No, don’t! I really do hope the Miss recovers! It’s just… what you’re saying is so outrageous. She’s this badly hurt, how could she possibly recover completely?”

Mu Lin smiled. ”I said I can, so I can. If you don’t believe me, just wait and see.”

The car arrived at the apartment building, and Mu Lin continued to carry Luo Wanqing upstairs.

Jiang Lan followed, carefully carrying the herbs Mu Lin had purchased, and hurriedly unlocked the door.

Mu Lin laid Luo Wanqing flat on the dining table.

Jiang Lan’s face twisted in anger when she saw what he was doing.

”Mr. Mu, why not put her on the sofa!”

”It’s too soft. It would be difficult to work.”

Mu Lin had already entered his treatment mindset. His expression was detached and unflappable, completely disregarding Jiang Lan’s feelings.

Jiang Lan pouted but was no longer nervous. As long as Mu Lin could heal her Miss, he could do as he pleased.

Then, Mu Lin began to remove Luo Wanqing’s clothes.

”You pervert! What do you think you’re doing!” Jiang Lan scolded angrily.

”Treatment!” Mu Lin replied.

”I think you’re just trying to take advantage of her! Our Miss is a lady of noble birth! Is her body something for you to just stare at?”

Mu Lin gestured to Luo Wanqing’s body. ”Would I take advantage of *this*? See for yourself.”

Jiang Lan looked down, and the color drained from her face.

Luo Wanqing’s entire body was covered in wounds and bruises. It was a gruesome sight, enough to make anyone’s stomach turn.

”Understand now?” Mu Lin asked coolly.

Jiang Lan lowered her head. ”Understood…”

”Besides,” Mu Lin added, ”I’ve seen it all before.”

”You what?!” Jiang Lan shrieked, truly furious this time.

”Your Miss was poisoned once before and came to me for treatment,” Mu Lin explained. ”The wound was in a very awkward place, and the only way to treat it was to remove her clothing.”

”But rest assured, when I am treating a patient, I am a doctor. I haven’t forgotten the old teachings about having a righteous heart and pure intentions.”

As he spoke, Mu Lin began applying needles, his Acupuncture Technique moving with lightning speed across Luo Wanqing’s body.

Luo Wanqing’s brow furrowed, and she seemed to become very uncomfortable.

Jiang Lan asked worriedly, ”Is my Miss going to be okay?”

Mu Lin waved a hand. ”She’s fine. The needles are just starting to affect her meridians. Her meridians are shattered, which is life-threatening. I’m using the needles as a conduit first to stabilize her vital functions.”

”Shattered meridians? Doesn’t that mean she’s done for?”

”Indeed,” Mu Lin said. ”Even if I heal her, she’ll never be able to cultivate again. All her past cultivation will be gone. From now on, she’ll be a mortal.”

Jiang Lan felt tears welling up. She never imagined her Miss would end up like this.

Her Miss, who had a limitless future, was now a cripple in the eyes of the cultivation world. Who could accept such a reality?

Jiang Lan certainly couldn’t.

Mu Lin let her cry. ”Keep an eye on your Miss. I’m going to prepare the medicine.”

He took the bag of herbs into the kitchen, which was fully equipped with cookware. Mu Lin grabbed a clay pot used for simmering soup, intending to use it as a vessel to brew the medicine.

After working for some time, Mu Lin finished brewing the medicine. He even added a bit of Dragon’s Saliva Fragrance to ensure Luo Wanqing’s meridians would be able to recover.

He walked out with the clay pot and poured the medicinal liquid into a large bowl. ”Feed this to her. Five hundred milliliters should be enough. I made extra in case some spills. Just feed it to her slowly. It’s fine if there’s some left over; she can have it later.”

After saying that, he took the clay pot back to the kitchen.

”What are you going back there for?”

”To restore her face!” Mu Lin replied.

Jiang Lan was left speechless.
