High School DxD: Return of the Crimson Dragon Emperor

Here is the English translation of Chapter 36, crafted to emphasize natural flow, powerful action, and emotional impact while maintaining faithful character tone and proper formatting.

[Third-Person POV]

”Sairaorg... you came.”

Hearing Rias’s voice, Sairaorg responded without turning around.

”Yeah. We were nearby when I sensed an extraordinary surge of power from this direction. Curious, I came to check it out, only to find you all mid-battle.”

While Rias’s team was assigned to the strike force operating from the human world on the Japanese side, Sairaorg’s unit was striking directly from the Underworld. If—as Asem claimed—the scale of this world was only a third of Earth’s, it was little short of a miracle that Sairaorg had arrived at this exact spot, even if they shared the same objective.

”Thank you, Sairaorg. You saved us.”

”Save your thanks, Rias. Nothing is settled yet.”

Sairaorg turned his gaze toward Razul.

Clad in crimson fur, the figure before them exuded an overwhelming aura that inspired absolute dread in all who beheld it. Beyond his visual transformation, his combat prowess was on a completely different dimension compared to before. Even joint attacks from Lisha and Gaspar—who had transformed into a beast of darkness—failed to land a decisive blow. Every single strike he threw carried lethal power, his defense was off the charts, and he possessed terrifying speed to match.

Rias readied her stance once more and warned Sairaorg.

”Be careful. His strength is abnormal.”

”I can tell. Just standing face-to-face with him makes my skin crawl. I’ve never felt anything like this before.”

While Rias racked her brain for a way to break the deadlock, Razul observed Sairaorg with keen interest. Rubbing his cheek where he had just been sent flying, Razul smirked.

”Well, now. Talk about an unexpected arrival. Pretty convenient timing, too. What, are you playing the hero who shows up late?”

”Sorry to disappoint, but I’m no hero. That role belongs to Issei Hyoudou.”

”Heh, the young Hero, huh... Though I know plenty about you, Sairaorg Bael. Next head of the Great King’s house, and the devil born without the Bael family’s signature Power of Destruction... Kukuku... To think the other High Devils actually looked down on you. Knocking me back in my current state is no easy feat.”

Razul’s aura flared even higher. He seemed genuinely thrilled by Sairaorg’s arrival.

”I know of you as well. You possess enough strength to overpower Issei Hyoudou... You’re more than worthy as an opponent!”

Sairaorg clenched his fists and turned to his peerage.

”Kuisha, I leave the mass of Evil Dragons swarming this area to you and the others. Their numbers are getting tedious.”

”Understood!”

Receiving their master’s order, his peerage—led by his Queen—moved to engage the Evil Dragons. Having grown significantly stronger since the Rating Game, they effortlessly began slaughtering the horde filling the sky.

Turning his attention back to Rias, Sairaorg spoke softly.

”Rias, your team has taken heavy damage. I’ll hold the line here. Use this time to recover.”

”Alright... I’m sorry, Sairaorg.”

Even with Asia’s healing, Rias and her group were still numb throughout their bodies, unable to mold their demonic power properly. Joining the fight now would only make them a liability.

”Don’t dwell on it. Besides, your fighting styles are a poor match against an opponent like this.”

Offering Rias a brief, confident smile, Sairaorg took a step forward.

Seeing Sairaorg’s fierce resolve, Razul’s lips curled into a wide grin.

”What a magnificent pulse of power! Man-to-man, fist-to-fist—there’s truly nothing better than a raw brawl!”

With a brutal kick off the ground, Razul launched himself forward. The earth cratered beneath his footing, showcasing his absurd physical strength.

Sairaorg assumed a calm, measured stance. He closed his eyes for a fraction of a second—and snapped them open.

He had entered the Domain Zone, the same realm of heightened focus as Issei.

Within the Domain, Sairaorg could perceive the trajectory of incoming attacks with absolute clarity. He dodged with precise, minimal movements, countering with heavy, deliberate strikes of his own. Landing every blow with zero wasted motion was the direct result of the relentless training he had endured since childhood.

Those battle-aura-infused fists were capable of backing down even the strongest Red Dragon Emperor in history.

And yet...

”Gahahahaha! Heavy! Your hits are damn heavy! You’re the first one to come at me this straight-on since the Hero!”

”Unfortunate for you, but Issei Hyoudou and I only know one way to fight! Smash the enemy with trained fists—that is all!”

”And that’s exactly what makes it great!”

Despite taking Sairaorg’s punches head-on, Razul remained unfazed. If anything, his momentum only grew stronger, shifting his gears several levels higher than when he had fought Rias’s group.

Sairaorg crossed his arms to block a straight punch from Razul, but the sheer force shattered the armor on his forearms, blasting him backward. As Sairaorg skidded away, Razul extended his palm toward him—and violently pulled his arm back.

Instantly, Sairaorg’s body levitated and was dragged toward Razul against his will.

”Is this your ability?!”

”You bet it is!”

Pulled directly into range, Sairaorg took the full weight of Razul’s incoming fist. The moment the blow connected with his abdomen, a shockwave rattled the entire battlefield. The punch crushed the lion armor, plunged straight into his bare flesh, and threatened to tear right through his body—

”Gah...!”
