High School DxD: Return of the Crimson Dragon Emperor

Chapter 451: Chapter 441 A colossal phoenix made of white and orange flames soared across the battlefield

A colossal phoenix made of white and orange flames soared across the battlefield. Enhanced by the Kasha, the firebird obliterated a massive swath of Evil Dragons, leaving nothing but ash.

Was this the result of Lisha’s tutoring? The power is incredible!

Lisha smiled at me, noticing my pride in our juniors. ”Combination attacks really get the heart pumping, don’t they?”

”You’re surprisingly playful, Lisha-san,” I remarked.

When we first met, she seemed cold, but since becoming Issei-kun’s servant, this side of her has started to emerge.

Alice, overhearing us, sighed as she caught her breath. ”Kiba-kun, Lisha has always been like this. She’s actually quite the bully.”

”I only bully you, Alice,” Lisha replied sweetly.

”Only me?!” Alice squawked.

”Ufufu♪”

”Don’t just smile at me! Lisha! Fine! I’m interrogating you after this is over!”

Venting her frustration, Alice charged forward. Clad in white lightning, she swung her spear, charring every Evil Dragon in her vicinity to a crisp. She was holding back her Shin-ki (Divine Princess) transformation, saving her trump card for later. Miu was doing the same, opting for full-burst magic barrages instead.

Beside Miu was Diarmuid, fighting with a spear in her right hand and a sword in her left.

”I’ll protect Big Sis!” Diarmuid declared.

”And I’ll protect Diarmuid!” Miu chirped back.

The two of them, now sworn sisters, displayed terrifyingly efficient coordination. They were perfectly in sync.

Wait...

Did Diarmuid just call her ”Nee-ne”?

The rest of the team seemed to notice too, their eyes drifting toward the pair. Miu gave us a cheeky thumbs-up.

”A lot happened, but we decided she’s going to call me ’Nee-ne’ now!”

Diarmuid’s face turned bright red. ”I-I mean... saying ’Onee-chan’ is... embarrassing...”

The rest of us fell silent. As Issei-kun always said, Diarmuid’s sense of shame is impossible to predict. Regardless, Miu was now ”Nee-ne.” Following that logic, Issei would be ”Nii-ni.” He’d probably cough up blood from pure joy. His sister complex was about to reach terminal levels.

Nearby, Gaspar—now a beast of darkness in his Balor state—was punching Evil Dragons into the dirt while shielding Valerie.

”Don’t you touch Valerie!”

”Hehe, you’re so cool, Gaspar,” Valerie whispered.

Gaspar’s voice was rougher, his personality more aggressive in this form. He’s terrifying when he’s angry, but to me, he reminded me of Issei. He was dependable.

”Burn to nothing!” Saji shouted, his black cursed flames consuming multiple dragons at once.

”Hah!”

Sona, the former Student Council President, used her signature water magic to manifest a massive dragon that swallowed enemies whole. Known for her technique, Sona had clearly been working on her raw power lately; she was taking down groups of High-class dragons with ease. Tsubaki Shinra followed closely, covering Sona’s blind spots, while the rest of the Sitri team operated with the precision of a clockwork machine.

”Akeno!”

”I’m with you, Sister Suzaku!”

Akeno and her cousin Suzaku Himejima were next. The Five Great Clans had joined the vanguard, with Suzaku at the center. Riding a massive vermilion bird shikigami, Suzaku unleashed a torrent of flames that took the shape of the legendary Suzaku—the spirit beast the Himejima heads inherit along with their name.

Akeno followed suit, summoning a Lightning Dragon. But this was different from before. A golden, three-headed dragon descended behind her, crackling with divine intensity.

So this is the fruit of Akeno-san’s training!

The Vermilion Bird and the Three-Headed Lightning Dragon tore through the enemy ranks. The combined heat and electricity created a storm of destruction that cleared the area.

”Everyone is so magnificent,” Valkyria remarked, her tone as calm as ever. ”I am hardly at a level to stand beside you.”
