This Life, I'm Raising the Right Man

Early the next morning, Su Yaoguang and everyone went to the inn’s hall for breakfast.

”Where’s Wang Shu?” Su Yaoguang asked.

”Hasn’t he gotten up yet?” Zhang Zhaodi asked, ”I’ll have one of the staff go upstairs and check.”

Among the staff from Taoyao Square, there were twenty-five people, including seventeen men and eight women.

It was breakfast time, and the people from Taoyao Square filled the hall.

Just as the staff arranged by Zhang Zhaodi was about to go upstairs, Zhou Wangshu returned from outside.

”Where did you go so early?” Zhang Zhaodi exclaimed.

Zhou Wangshu handed a piece of paper to Su Yaoguang: ”Look, just got it done.”

Su Yaoguang took it, and the others gathered around. When they saw the contents of the paper, each of them was shocked.

”Deed of the house!”

”Yes, I just went to see the house, thought it was nice, and bought it right away.”

”Wang Shu, you’re really one to get things done quietly,” Zhang Zhaodi said, ”I trust your judgment; if you think it’s good, it must be good. So after breakfast, shall we move?”

Zhou Wangshu looked at Su Yaoguang.

”Houses in Capital City aren’t cheap, where did you get the money to buy a house?” Su Yaoguang tucked the deed back into her robes.

”You usually give me a lot of silver, and I can’t use it all, so I saved it bit by bit.”

”The silver I gave you was enough to save and buy a house in Capital City?” Su Yaoguang doubted.

”Of course. You’re so generous normally, always like to give me silver for no reason.”

”Do you think my sister and brother-in-law have entered the Capital City?” Zhang Zhaodi said, ”Capital City is so big, it’s hard to find someone.”

”Let’s settle down first, and when we have time, we’ll slowly inquire. Anyway, my brother-in-law has to take the exams just like Wang Shu, we’ll meet sooner or later.”

”That’s right.”

Zhong Chushan wrapped his arm around Zhou Wangshu’s shoulder, jokingly said: ”Is the house big enough, can you take in two homeless people like us?”

”It’s not very big, but it’s definitely enough to accommodate your family,” Zhou Wangshu replied.

After breakfast, everyone moved to their new dwelling.

The house was somewhat similar to Taoyao Square in the county; the front was a shop, and the back was a residence. The difference was in size. This house was three times larger than the county’s Taoyao Square.

Zhang Zhaodi praised the new dwelling endlessly.

”If Wang Shu can become an official in Capital City, we can settle here. Look at this house, how great it is, and the location is perfect for a shop. If we open Taoyao Square here, business will definitely be better than in the county.”

With plenty of staff, cleaning up was quick, and they managed to set up the rooms within a day, even adding things everywhere, making the new dwelling well-managed.

After getting things in order, they familiarized themselves with the Capital City’s surroundings.

With three months until the exams, Zhou Wangshu and the others couldn’t afford to idle. So they quickly went to the Imperial College for further studies.

The best academy in Capital City should be the Imperial College, but not everyone can enter there. Anyway, with only three months left, Zhou Wangshu and the others didn’t want to complicate things, so they found another privately established academy instead.

Su Yaoguang led the group from Taoyao Square to ramp up their work pace, and within a month, Taoyao Square was opened.

When Taoyao Square opened, Su Yaoguang hung a sign at the door offering thirty percent off all purchases today, attracting many curious customers.

The new Taoyao Square had four floors; apart from the first floor selling various goods, the rest were all service-oriented.

”Dear guests, please come inside...” Zhang Zhaodi welcomed guests at the door.

Capital City had many wealthy people, and the number of visitors was ten times that of the county, with most of them buying something and hardly anyone leaving empty-handed.

Taoyao Square had been bustling with guests since opening, and Zhang Zhaodi wore a big smile every day. Everyone had things to do, matters to be busy with, and quickly adapted to life in the Capital City.

There was an empty warehouse in the backyard, and seeing the space was large and well-lit, Su Yaoguang turned it into a workshop. The goods they sold were all completed in that workshop.

After checking the progress in the workshop, Su Yaoguang came out, rubbing her sore shoulders. She heard a sound from above and looked up, seeing Zhou Wangshu sitting on the rooftop drinking.

”Brat, what are you doing climbing so high?” Su Yaoguang climbed up from the nearby staircase.

Worrying she might fall, Zhou Wangshu took her arm and pulled her over.

”I saw the moonlight was nice today, and the wine you brewed could be opened to drink, so I thought I’d enjoy the view while savoring the wine here.”

Su Yaoguang leaned closer, suspiciously looking at him: ”You’re lying. You have something on your mind.”
