Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 3132: Chapter 3068: Disheartened

Really not bad?

Is it that he’s not taking her seriously?

After so many years of marriage, she couldn’t say he wasn’t good to her; compared to many couples, he was already considered very good. But Zeng Roufen always felt that sometimes Cui Zhenyan could drench her heart with a pail of ice water.

Just like this time.

”Why don’t you go call him,” Cui Mingshan noticed something was off about her expression and softly said, ”When Zhenyan came back, he said that there were many books he needed to look at here, too lazy to move them home one by one, so he planned to stay for a couple of days to finish his work before heading back. But now looking at you, did you have a fight?”

”No, we didn’t fight.”

Zeng Roufen immediately denied it.

Her family had felt all these years that she married well, and always believed Cui Zhenyan treated her well, but sometimes she really had no way to express her hardships to anyone.

”I made buns, I’m going out to buy some soy milk, you go ahead and eat, Third Sister.”

Zeng Roufen had just taken her small wallet and left when Lin Jingyu came down the stairs, glanced at the door, and huffed, ”Mom, why do you bother with her? Big Aunt has always been like that, speaking nicely to you when she needs something, but when nothing’s going on, her look at you is full of disdain, don’t you know?”

”Jingyu, your Big Aunt has always been like this, she doesn’t have any bad intentions.”

”Yeah, yeah, yeah, you’re always speaking for others,” Lin Jingyu rolled his eyes and said, ”I’m going out, I’m meeting classmates to hang out today.”

”Where are you going to play? You guys be careful, don’t go to dangerous places. How many of you are going? All classmates?”

”I’m leaving.”

Lin Jingyu didn’t want to say much more to her, finding her nagging, and thinking she was so naïve and useless, turned around and left.

Cui Mingshan called out, ”Jingyu, you haven’t had breakfast yet. Your Big Aunt made buns, don’t you really like them?”

”Not eating!”

Lin Jingyu threw down those words and went out.

In a room not far from the stairs, Madam Cui closed the prose she was holding and sighed softly.

Sitting to the side, wearing reading glasses and reading a newspaper, Commander Cui immediately asked, ”What’s wrong? Feeling unwell? The way that kid Jingyu talks so loud, I’ll speak to him when he’s back.”

He thought Lin Jingyu’s voice had disturbed her, making her heart uncomfortable again.

Madam Cui waved her hand and softly said, ”No need, that child has always been like that, you know very well. My health is truly much better now, such a small sound couldn’t really frighten me. Xiao Chiang’s remedies work immediately.”

”Then why are you sighing?”

”I just feel like having Mingshan and Jingyu living here all the time isn’t quite right, is it? And as for Lin Ding, it’s been ten years, is he really not thinking of transferring back? Doesn’t he miss his wife and kids?”

Lin Ding is Lin Jingyu’s stepfather.

In these ten years, the number of times he’s returned can be counted on one hand. Each time he comes back, he only stays for two or three days, almost leaving his wife and child unattended here.

What kind of husband is this, what kind of father?

”I’ll have them check again later, see if they can get him transferred back,” Commander Cui said.

It’s been five years since he last had someone inquire about it. Over these years, he’s written to Lin Ding suggesting he try to transfer back whenever possible. Lin Ding always agreed, always said he would, but kept delaying, dragging it out year by year.
