Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2935: Chapter 2871: Even This Is Worth Quibbling About

Ten tables, that should be enough.

”At home? How many tables do you want to have?”

”Just ten tables should be fine. If there are more people, we can clear out the study and add two more tables.”

”Isn’t having it at home too much trouble? Cleaning up afterward will be a hassle.”

Jiang Xiao shook her head, ”It’s fine, I’ll just hire a few more people to help clean up. Grandpa, this is what I’m thinking,” Jiang Xiao said. ”If there’s ever a time when our place could be lively and popular, it would be during a wedding. Later on, I might not have many friends, and gatherings won’t be big. The house won’t be lively, so we might as well take this chance to fully warm up the place and gather some popularity.”

Plus, she feels that having the wedding at home and holding a banquet would make her feel more relaxed and happy.

”Alright, you have a point. I think we’ll go with your idea.”

Old Meng actually also likes traditional weddings, where everyone drinks wedding wine at home, then after the guests leave, the couple sits in their new room. That kind of wedding has a real feeling.

Not like at a restaurant where after everyone makes noise, they all go home, even the bride and groom return to a cold, empty house, leaving all the excitement in someone else’s place.

So, since Jiang Xiao wants to have the wedding at home, he fully supports it.

”Alright then, let’s have it at home. Shall I make a list of guests here later?”

”Sure, thanks for the trouble, Grandpa.”

”It’s no trouble, not at all.” Old Meng couldn’t be happier, ”I also need to find time to remind Old Tang and the others to get their gifts ready quickly.”

With that, he burst out laughing.

Jiang Xiao was speechless.

Meng Chaojun seemed a bit absent-minded.

”Dad? What are you thinking about?”

”Oh, nothing, nothing. Little, I just wanted to tell you that I’ve requested to meet Commander Cui, but they said he’s been very busy lately, and I should wait.”

”Oh, okay.”

Jiang Xiao nodded.

Meng Chaojun wanting to go back to work was something she was glad to see.

After all, he’s not that old, and having work is better than passing the days idly at home.

Besides, Jiang Xiao had her own reasons.

She didn’t want Gao Wei and Fong Jianye to have their fathers’ support, while on Meng Xinian’s side, not only did his father not help, but he could also become a burden.

But all this depended on Meng Chaojun’s own efforts.

She wouldn’t help him get an introduction to Commander Cui.

Little did Jiang Xiao know that at the same time, Commander Cui was talking to Madam Cui about her.

”That Little Firecracker, just watch, during this time she’s surely forgotten about both of us. Why? Because that kid from the Meng Family is back! Young people always prioritize romance over friendship; once that Little Firecracker sees her fiancé, she’s going to stick by his side. She won’t even think of us two old folks.”

These words were spoken by Commander Cui with such a grudge, it was palpable.

Madam Cui looked at him and couldn’t help but laugh and shake her head.

”Oh come on, you’re not really going to hold this against young Jiang, are you?”

Really.

You’re going to hold this against them.

The young couple hasn’t seen each other for more than two months; even if they’re sticky and inseparable, it’s quite normal, yet you’re full of resentment.

This really is.

”How am I holding it against them?”

Commander Cui huffed, ”I’m just saying, I find that girl a bit hard to understand.”
