Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2934: Chapter 2870: Where to Hold the Banquet

Anyway, since Gao Wei is back, they can’t really talk to Nian Mutong anymore.

Gao Wei, feeling triumphant, pulled Nian Mutong upstairs.

Madam Gao looked at her husband, saw him rubbing his temples, and quickly brewed a cup of American Ginseng Tea and brought it over.

”Ah Ming, let it go, don’t be too upset. Little Wei just got out of the hospital not long ago, let him rest for a while longer, I’m sure he’ll eventually want to start working on his own.”

No matter how much her son upset her, she of course still hoped her husband wouldn’t be disappointed by him.

Gao Ming let out a heavy sigh.

”Him? Even if he wants to work, what can he do? We sent him to the police station before, didn’t we? Now look what he’s made of it—he lasted less than a month!”

”Alright, we’ll talk about it later. But what about that bitch Nian Mutong, how should we deal with her?”

Deal with her?

How else can we deal with her?

Gao Ming closed his eyes and said feebly, ”Let her stay at home for now, keep an eye on her and try not to let her go out. If anyone asks, just say she’s a distant cousin staying in the Capital for a while.”

”Will that really work?”

”Why wouldn’t it work? Even if that brat Gao Wei says they’re married, you deny it.” Gao Ming opened his eyes and looked at her. ”Find an opportunity to get their marriage certificate. Without that, there’s nothing they can prove. Then you just tell people that you kindly took in this cousin, and who would have thought she would scheme to seduce Gao Wei.”

Madam Gao understood what he meant.

”Alright, I understand.”

Meanwhile, Jiang Xiao and Old Meng were chatting for a while till Meng Chaojun returned expressionlessly.

Neither Jiang Xiao nor Old Meng asked him anything, instead, they started discussing Jiang Xiao and Meng Xinian’s wedding.

”August is coming soon, Xinian said before to wait for him to come back before preparing. I think we can start preparing now, right?”

Old Meng was truly looking forward to it.

Before, when they talked about getting married, they intended to invite only family relatives, without planning to make it public, and Jiang Xiao’s relationship with them was still a bit awkward. So Old Meng wanted to help organize but couldn’t.

But this time is different, this time, they are getting married for real, hosting a banquet, and there are many things to organize.

Old Meng was usually quite bored, with nothing to focus on in life, so now having something to keep him busy made him genuinely thrilled.

Jiang Xiao nodded.

This matter wasn’t something to feel shy about; indeed, it should be organized.

Meng Chaojun joined in on the discussion.

”Little, have you thought about where to host the banquet?”

Old Meng said, ”How about the Capital City Grand Hotel? I went there last time, my goodness, it’s really magnificent, very grand.”

”Not the Capital City Grand Hotel.”

Jiang Xiao immediately rejected the idea.

”Dad, Yun Xian and the others hosted their banquet there,” Meng Chaojun reminded.

Kuang Yunxian and Du Jinruo hosted their banquet there, and their wedding feast was disrupted by Gao Wei and Nian Mutong. What would it mean to go there for their own banquet?

Old Meng suddenly realized.

He slapped his forehead, feeling that he had been so forgetful.

How did I not think of that?

”Then we’ll find another place, pick a new one.”

Jiang Xiao suggested, ”Grandpa, I think there’s no need to go overboard, we can host it at our own home.”

Jiang Xiao roughly calculated in her mind, with the two courtyards connected now, including the dining room, her house could accommodate nearly ten tables.
