Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2927: Chapter 2863: Wants to Cuddle Together

He couldn’t bear to end up covering her in bruises just because of that kind of desire.

Jiang Xiao lay in his arms and let out a sigh.

Meng Xinian found it funny, leaned over and pecked her on the lips. ”What, you want it?”

”Says who!” Jiang Xiao instantly reacted like someone had stepped on her tail and tried to jump out of his arms, but Meng Xinian caught her in time.

Right now he didn’t want to be apart from her at all.

”Just let me hold you and sleep a bit, I’m so tired.” His voice was hoarse as he spoke.

Only then did Jiang Xiao remember something. She hurriedly sat up. ”Sleep later, drink some water first.”

She got off the bed, glanced at herself, and hastily put her clothes back on in a fluster, then ran downstairs and brought up a cup of water.

Fresh Spirit Spring Water, drawn straight from the spring.

”Drink this and then sleep.”

Meng Xinian didn’t refuse. He leaned over and drank from the cup in her hand, while freeing both hands to wrap them around her waist.

”Lazy.”

Jiang Xiao shot him a reproachful look, but still obediently held the cup and fed him until he finished it.

”Come up and sleep with me.” Meng Xinian pulled her back toward the bed.

Jiang Xiao shook her head. ”No, the nurse will come on rounds later and think I disappeared. You can sleep here, I’ll close the bathroom door, and if someone comes we’ll just say you’re in there.”

Meng Xinian stood up, put on his clothes, and said, ”Then I’ll just go out with you.”

”How are you going to sleep if you go out?”

”I’ll sleep on the ward bed. You think the nurse can kick me out?”

”Kick... she probably won’t, but what about me?” That was her hospital bed.

”We’ll sleep together.”

Jiang Xiao was speechless.

But seeing the bluish dark circles under his eyes, her heart softened and she agreed.

The two of them went out. Sure enough, Meng Xinian pulled her up onto the hospital bed with him. The two of them squeezed onto the small bed, and he was out like a light in seconds.

Once he fell asleep, Jiang Xiao cautiously propped herself up to sit, but when she was about to get off the bed, his hand had already reached over and wrapped around her waist.

It was probably just a subconscious movement, because he didn’t wake up.

Jiang Xiao was helpless. She couldn’t get off the bed, so she had to pull the blanket up higher to cover the arm he had around her waist, then leaned against the bed and picked up the newspaper to flip through it.

Sitting like this was still less awkward than lying there holding each other, right?

After a while, the door was gently pushed open, and Old Meng, Meng Chaojun, and Chen Yin, Wang Yi, and Jin Lei all appeared at the doorway of the ward.

Chen Yin and the others had just gotten the news. When they rushed to the hospital, they happened to run into the Meng Family Father and Son outside, so they came in together.

But Jiang Xiao hadn’t expected this many people to show up all at once.

Seeing their gazes all shift to Meng Xinian, who was sleeping beside her, Jiang Xiao’s face heated up, and she instantly felt unbearably awkward.

After all, she and Tyrant Meng weren’t even married yet.

Even if they really were married, in this era, couples being this intimate in front of others was rare.

Anyone would feel embarrassed.

”This...”

Old Meng was the first to react, overjoyed. ”Xinian’s back?”

Jiang Xiao had thought they came to the hospital knowing Meng Xinian was here; turns out they were originally coming to see her?

She stiffly nodded, and immediately met Wang Yi’s teasing gaze.

Jin Lei was also off to the side making faces at her.

Jiang Xiao felt like she was losing all her dignity.

The moment this man came back, he ran straight to the hospital to sleep with her?

They were probably all thinking that, right?

It was really mortifying.

They were going to tease her to death.

”Um... Brother Xinian heard I was hospitalized, so he came to see me.”

Jiang Xiao said this woodenly, and even Chen Yin couldn’t help but laugh.

”Xinian’s really something. Knowing the bed’s this small, yet he still insists on squeezing in with Sister-in-law.”
