Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2849: Chapter 2785: Iron Rice Bowl

Speaking of this, Aunt Chen also looked quite worried.

Chen Yin glanced at Jiang Xiao with a hint of helplessness.

Jiang Xiao said, ”Aunt Chen, you think this way too, don’t you?”

It wasn’t just outsiders; even Aunt Chen probably thought so too, which is why she looked so worried.

Aunt Chen nodded instinctively, saying, ”Isn’t it? I think what they say makes sense.”

She sighed lightly and said, ”I’ve advised Chen Yin early on, maybe he should find a good job, go to work honestly, and earn a salary. Given his qualifications, I previously asked around and found that there was an opportunity for him to work at the Capital Evening News Agency as a reporter. You tell me, isn’t this a good unit? Isn’t it good to tell others he works there? But he just doesn’t want to.”

As Aunt Chen spoke, she seemed quite regretful.

If he could be a reporter at the Capital Evening News Agency, how impressive would that be?

Now, being a reporter sounds quite powerful.

”Aunt, being a reporter is nice, but I see that Chen Yin is indeed made for business. Maybe business is more suitable for him and he could have better growth in the future. Besides, if he makes money, does he need a unit to allocate housing? He can buy it himself. If that doesn’t work, he can buy some land and build his own. He could even build a house himself.”

Jiang Xiao didn’t think having a guaranteed job was so great.

In ten or so years, there will be a wave of layoffs, and at that time, many people will be at a loss.

All their lives they’ve thought they could comfortably hold onto a guaranteed job, eat from the public trough till they age, without acquiring any skills or ambition, only to realize when they’re laid off that they don’t know how to do anything.

If the family is old or young at that time, it really could make one’s hair turn gray from worry.

If someone at home falls ill or something happens, every penny must be spent wisely.

But the problem is that there might not be a penny at that time.

The guaranteed job is favorable now, and it’s quite prestigious, but people need to look forward.

Of course, most people at this time cannot see the future clearly.

Even Jiang Xiao herself came from the future; otherwise, she might not have been able to see clearly either. So while she advised Aunt Chen, she didn’t think of her as shortsighted.

But Chen Yin being able to resolve to venture into the business world, Jiang Xiao felt he had foresight and courage.

At least from future developments, it’s indeed better to strive oneself, to expand horizons, learn more, earn more money, and be better prepared for whatever comes.

”Can you still buy land and build a house yourself? That’s not easy here, right?”

In their current view, the Capital City just has these traditional alley houses.

But they don’t know that with future development, once regions are designated, everything will start being constructed.

If you catch that good time, you can really earn a big sum and never have to worry again.

But these things Jiang Xiao certainly wouldn’t tell Aunt Chen.

She could only persuade her as much as possible.

Aunt Chen, being persuaded, really started to feel her son was quite impressive.

”Little Yi’s parents are actually very nice people.” Jiang Xiao had interacted with Wang Yi’s parents too. Although, yes, they’re somewhat vain, disdainful of the poor and enamored with the rich, from their perspective, it’s actually understandable.

Who doesn’t want their precious daughter to marry into the best family?
