Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2783: Chapter 2719: Not a Doctor

However, Jiang Xiao insisted on telling him it was nothing, just a visit.

He considered Wei Yixi as close as a brother, yet he had never met his grandmother. To visit so purposefully like this, wouldn’t it seem strange to them?

Fortunately, before Jiang Xiao set off, she had called Wei Lengmian and mentioned her visit to the nursing home.

Ding Haijing thought Wei Lengmian was calm enough since he didn’t even ask why Jiang Xiao wanted to visit his mother, he just said he would call and let them allow her in.

If no one there had given a word of instruction, Jiang Xiao, with her unknown identity, wouldn’t be able to get in.

If she claimed to be a painter, a student from the Fine Arts Academy, they wouldn’t open the door for her.

Jiang Xiao had originally thought of mentioning Jiang Yingqiong, but since Director Wei was willing to step in, that was naturally the best.

At the end of the call, Director Wei casually said, ”If Xiao Chiang doesn’t mind, she could also have a look at my mother, who’s been having some migraines lately.”

So, this was probably his reason for agreeing to let Jiang Xiao in.

Jiang Xiao, of course, agreed.

Ding Haijing was a bit puzzled.

She was clearly just a student from the Fine Arts Academy, a painter. Why did Director Wei want her to treat Old Madam Wei?

Could it be that Jiang Xiao had indeed learned so much from Chen Baoshen?

As they entered the mountains, they indeed felt the air becoming much fresher and much calmer, with occasional birdsong adding a lively touch, making one feel refreshed.

The air was slightly more humid than in the city, possibly because there were many negative oxygen ions here, it was a natural oxygen bar.

No wonder Old Madam Wei, with relatively few health issues, liked staying here.

In such an environment, staying a bit longer, one’s mood would improve greatly.

Bamboo lined the mountain roads, offering beautiful scenery.

The nursing home was nestled in the mountains, beside a clear spring.

After the nursing home was built here, the clear spring became part of the scenery at the entrance, with a pool built beneath it, where fish were kept.

As they were about to enter the main gate, they were indeed checked.

Jiang Xiao gave Director Wei’s name, and only then did the guard let them through.

Presumably, those living here were not ordinary people, hence the strict security.

”Director Wei says that Old Madam Wei lives in Building Eleven, you can drive directly in, go straight after the gate, turn right at the third cross road, and it’s the third building.”

This nursing home was truly quaintly built, and the houses were constructed neatly, in rows, with small two-story buildings featuring small courtyards.

Some courtyards even had green vegetables and fruits planted in them.

Living here seemed rather pleasant indeed.

”This is the place.”

When the car stopped, Jiang Xiao opened the car door and got out by herself.

Ding Haijing also got out carrying a few bags.

Jiang Xiao had brought so many things, but he could tell that these were all items from the Youqingwei Teahouse.

He didn’t know if Old Madam Wei had heard of Youqingwei while staying in this nursing home.

Ding Haijing somewhat hoped that Old Madam Wei wouldn’t misunderstand what Jiang Xiao had brought. He thought these items were so good that everyone should know about them. Being able to give these already showed Jiang Xiao’s sincerity.

He didn’t want anyone to overlook Jiang Xiao’s thoughtfulness.

Jiang Xiao herself hadn’t considered so much, nor did she realize that Ding Haijing thought this way.

”I’ll go knock on the door.”

Ding Haijing walked towards the entrance of the courtyard of the building, about to call out, when an elderly lady wearing a gray-striped qipao and a light cardigan emerged from inside.
