Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2632: Chapter 2568: The Fall

Sun Han felt somewhat uneasy.

”Is it going to rain heavily?”

”Probably,” Jiang Shiheng smiled bitterly, ”Maybe I’ve been away from D State and the sea for too long, and didn’t remember that the weather at sea can be quite unpredictable. Just now the sky was clear, and it could very well start to pour.”

”In case it rains heavily, Sixth Young Master, let’s hurry to the temple. You can’t afford to get wet now.” The bodyguard said, jumping off the boat, tightening the rope to steady the boat as much as possible.

Sun Han helped Jiang Shiheng off the boat.

They all quickly walked towards the path upward.

At this moment, a woman in a beige gown briskly approached them.

”Xiao Sixth, you came?”

Lu Shuangshuang broke into a smile as soon as she saw Jiang Shiheng, ”Hurry up to the temple; I think it’s going to rain heavily soon.”

She said, reaching out to take Jiang Shiheng’s hand, ”You probably don’t remember the way, let me lead you...”

”

”Miss Lu, no need; I know the way.”

”You remembered the way?” Lu Shuangshuang was taken aback.

”Miss Lu, I recognize the way; I can lead from the front. Sixth Young Master, this way.”

”Hmm.”

Lu Shuangshuang gave the bodyguard a glance.

The bodyguard immediately felt a chill down his spine.

But soon he felt something was off; wasn’t Miss Lu known for being kind, the most gentle and generous? Why did she give him such a frightening feeling just now?

It must have been an illusion.

Although Sixth Young Master didn’t like her, they all had to stand by Sixth Young Master’s side, yet they didn’t think Lu Shuangshuang was a terrifying woman.

Sun Han stayed closely by Jiang Shiheng’s side, not daring to let down his guard at all.

After a stretch of road, large drops of rain already started to fall.

They all began to run, and the small temple gate was already in sight.

Jiang Shiheng had just run inside when he heard a cry from Lu Shuangshuang behind him, followed by a thud.

They all turned to see Lu Shuangshuang had fallen to the ground.

”Miss Lu, are you okay?”

A bodyguard quickly ran over to help her up.

Lu Shuangshuang avoided his hand, propping herself up to stand, but her gait was staggering, her dress was dirty, and she was drenched, looking quite distressed.

As soon as they entered the temple hall, the rain poured down.

Lu Shuangshuang looked at Jiang Shiheng, then lowered her head to look at herself, sniffling.

Jiang Shiheng frowned, asking, ”Miss Lu, are you alright?”

”I might have sprained my ankle, it’s very painful now.” Lu Shuangshuang looked at him, eyes reddening, ”Xiao Sixth, do you have to be so distant with me? Calling me Miss Lu, do you know how upset that makes me?”

Her words made the bodyguards feel a bit uncomfortable.

Sun Han bowed his head slightly, still standing by Jiang Shiheng’s side, not at all thinking to step away.

Lu Shuangshuang wanted to take a few steps towards Jiang Shiheng, but as soon as she moved, she cried out and tumbled to the ground again. Was her ankle really sprained, unable to walk?

As she was about to fall, a hand steadied her.

Lu Shuangshuang felt a flutter in her heart, immediately raising her head to look coyly at the person holding her, ”Xiao Sixth...”

”Miss Lu, please be careful.”

Sun Han said expressionlessly, releasing his hand.

It was him who had caught her?

Lu Shuangshuang’s heart sank abruptly.

Jiang Shiheng still stood a few steps away, looking at her, also saying, ”Miss Lu, please be careful.”
