Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 2067: Chapter 2003: Trying to Give Her a Hand

”What’s wrong?” Ji Yuzhi was momentarily stunned.

”Seems like I drank too much coffee on the plane, now my stomach feels a bit uncomfortable. I want to go to the bathroom.” Chiang Xiao said, clutching her stomach.

”Then go quickly. Do you need me to go with you?”

Seeing Ji Yuzhi’s worried face, Chiang Xiao felt a bit conflicted inside.

That bearded man is undoubtedly ”Second Master,” such a dangerous man. Letting Ji Yuzhi stay with him, who knows if something might happen?

But then again, she thought, that man probably wouldn’t casually harm someone he has no relation with, right?

If she wanted to escape, should she take Ji Yuzhi with her?

Chiang Xiao thought for a moment, then nodded to her, ”Then Miss Ji, please accompany me.”

”I’ll inform Mr. Hu.”

Ji Yuzhi informed the bearded man and then went to the restroom with Chiang Xiao.

The restroom was a bit of a distance from the airport exit door. Chiang Xiao paid attention and didn’t see the bearded man or anyone else follow them, feeling slightly relieved.

She suspected that the men associated with the bearded man had already left, but earlier she noticed two who hadn’t gone far and were hiding nearby.

Those must be his henchmen.

After entering the ladies’ room, Chiang Xiao grabbed Ji Yuzhi’s hand and said to her, ”Miss Ji, I just remembered, there’s an airport guesthouse nearby. I want to go there to wait. If my family arrives at the airport and doesn’t see me, they’ll go there to look for me. Do you want to come with me?”

Ji Yuzhi just thought she was being overly cautious out of fear, shook her head, and said, ”It’s not far to go home from here, I don’t want to go to the guesthouse.”

Chiang Xiao pulled her out of the bathroom, pointed to a lit area not far away, ”Look, the guesthouse is over there. If you don’t want to go with me, I’ll go by myself. Why don’t you come with me? When my family arrives, we can send you home. Being with me is safer than being with that bearded man, right?”

Chiang Xiao felt it was better to try to help Ji Yuzhi.

Even though staying with the bearded man might not necessarily lead to trouble, it’s better safe than sorry. Knowing he’s a dangerous figure, it’s good to try helping Ji Yuzhi.

But Ji Yuzhi just smiled and shook her head.

She might think Chiang Xiao doesn’t understand much about relationships between men and women, given her young age.

She was in her twenties and once had a partner; they were about to discuss marriage when the partner sadly passed away due to illness. This prolonged her search for a suitable partner; she doesn’t want to compromise with someone less suitable, so if an opportunity arises, she doesn’t want to miss meeting someone she deems suitable.

”Then you go to the guesthouse, I’ll leave with Mr. Hu. It’s too cold, we shouldn’t let him wait too long. Take care of yourself.”

Indeed, the guesthouse didn’t seem far, so Ji Yuzhi didn’t sense any problem.

Moreover, Chiang Xiao had flown back from Country Y, she should be quite independent, right?

Seeing Ji Yuzhi truly unwilling to leave with her, Chiang Xiao had no choice but not to push her anymore, just reminding her to be careful, then quickly ran towards the guesthouse with her luggage.

The place was indeed a guesthouse.

There’s no public phone at the airport, taxis are extremely scarce, and flying is quite troublesome. Sometimes you might have to wait a day or stay overnight at the airport, so there’s a guesthouse nearby.
