Rebirth: Splendid Marriage in the 80s

Chapter 593: Chapter 594: At Any Cost (Alliance Leader +28)

”The best one?” Factory Director Su was taken aback, ”That’s not cheap, how many do you want to make?”

”Is there a bigger discount for a larger quantity?”

”Haha, you know that too?” Factory Director Su couldn’t help but laugh, ”Of course, we need to create a mold, and making more once the mold is made, naturally means a bulk discount.”

”Then I’ll make a thousand.”

A thousand.

Even Meng Xinian couldn’t help but be surprised at this, but he just glanced at her and didn’t speak.

It wasn’t until they had left the factory that he looked at Chiang Xiao and said, ”It seems you have a lot of confidence in this tea snack business.”

”Of course. Brother Xinian, let me tell you, people consider food as their heaven, and you will find out that ’food’ isn’t just something that fills the stomach or covers the gut, it also includes the desire to eat something delicious, delicate, and exotic.”

Eat well, eat cleverly, eat exotically?

This was the first time Meng Xinian had heard such a concept.

What Chiang Xiao didn’t say aloud was that there was also eating for fame.

In later generations, there will be so many trendy restaurants, trendy milk tea shops, and trendy cake shops, where every day there are long lines outside the stores. Are those things really that delicious?

Not always.

But why are they so popular?

Because people have a herd mentality, seeing everyone else buying and eating makes them want to join in too. Hearing that something is famous, they also want to try it.

Plus, she was quite confident about the taste and quality of those tea snacks.

”Where did you learn all this stuff?” Meng Xinian couldn’t help asking again.

Chiang Xiao chuckled twice and ran towards her grandparents waiting outside. On the way back, she turned and made a face at him, saying, ”I’m smart!”

Meng Xinian watched her bright smile and a hint of amusement rose in his eyes as he strode to catch up.

”Yes, yes, yes, your head is smarter than anyone else, you genius little Painter!”

When will the word ”little” be finally shed?

Chiang Songhai and Ge Liutao were both curious about the cost of a single packaging box and took a deep breath when Chiang Xiao quoted five cents per box.

Don’t underestimate five cents, in those days, one cent might buy you two candies!

The tea snacks hadn’t even been made yet and the mere cost price of the packaging box was enough to make their hearts pound.

No one had ever heard of selling something where the packaging box costs five cents!

Seeing their reaction, Chiang Xiao swallowed her next sentence.

Actually, she had designed three types of boxes: two rigid cardboard boxes, a large and a small one, and the five-cent price was for the smaller one. The larger would cost seven cents. There was also another type of box that was even more expensive.

Factory Director Su’s place also had them, but they were generally very ordinary wooden boxes with thin wooden pieces, very simple. But she wanted to go premium, and her requirements for materials were quite high, exceeding the original cost quotes of Factory Director Su’s team, so they hadn’t decided on a price yet, they had to wait until trial samples were made to quote her.

Chiang Xiao estimated that the cost of one box might reach fifty cents.

Chiang Songhai and the others were already sweating over the five cents, so what if they heard fifty cents—they might faint!

So she didn’t mention it for the time being.

However, Meng Xinian knew about it.

No matter how much the boxes cost, he supported Chiang Xiao anyway. But once again, he felt that he needed to find a way to make money.

How to deal with the sudden feeling of immense pressure?

Tyrant Meng felt slightly sorrowful.

”How many boxes did you order?” Chiang Songhai asked, catching his breath and with a bit of worry, ”A hundred? We don’t even know if we can sell a hundred boxes of tea snacks; I reckon even if we can, it’s going to take a very long time.”

Meng Xinian looked at Chiang Xiao, who was sweating buckets.
