Supreme Warrior in the City

”What is this Earth Principle?” Su Yang asked curiously.

”The Earth Principle is similar to the Heavenly Dao; it is a rule from the birth of the universe,” said the Emperor Slave. ”It embodies regulations without life or consciousness!”

”So we must also abide by the Earth Principle to absorb Earth-level Spiritual Energy?” Su Yang questioned.

”Exactly!” The Emperor Slave nodded. ”If one doesn’t follow the Earth Principle, there’s no way to absorb Earth-level Spiritual Energy.”

”Then... what’s the difference from the Guardian God?” Su Yang was suddenly disappointed: ”Since it’s necessary to follow the Earth Principle to absorb Earth-level Spiritual Energy, why not just follow the Heavenly Dao from the start instead of wasting energy fighting the Guardian God?”

”Although this is what it seems, wouldn’t you at least want to see which rule suits you before deciding which to follow?” The Emperor Slave replied.

”Is there any difference?” Su Yang was puzzled.

”The biggest difference between the two is what truly defines humanity!” The Emperor Slave explained.

”What do you mean?” Su Yang was intrigued.

The Emperor Slave calmly continued: ”The most basic rule of the Heavenly Dao is that everything is predestined, and heavenly will cannot be defied. Everything is governed by heaven, not by human whims. Simply put, from birth to death, your entire journey is controlled by heavenly will. The principles of the Heavenly Dao dictate your actions, and you must comply with what the Heavenly Dao wants you to do. Everything in the world follows the principles of the Heavenly Dao, without any deviation!”

”That’s indeed a bit of a stretch.” Su Yang scratched his head. ”What about the Earth Principle?”

”The Earth Principle is rather simple; it can be summed up in five words…” The Emperor Slave looked at Su Yang: ”All things are guided by the heart!”

”What does that mean?” Su Yang was astonished.

”It means that you do whatever you want, unconstrained by anyone; nobody can demand anything from you. Everything follows the desire of your heart, and adheres to it without being bound by others!” The Emperor Slave softly uttered, ”Those Heavenly Warriors pursue freedom and refuse to be constrained. Therefore, they adhere to the Earth Principle rather than the Heavenly Dao!”

”This…” Su Yang’s face was filled with confusion as he pondered for a while, then softly continued, ”It sounds like the Earth Principle indeed offers a great deal of freedom. But the issue is, if everything is guided by the heart, won’t many things become uncontrollable? For instance, if a wicked person recklessly kills without any rule to restrain them, wouldn’t that be unmanageable?”

”What you are referring to are merely people’s rules, not within the domain of the Heavenly Dao or Earth Principle. Although the Earth Principle is guided by the heart, there still must be laws among people, as the Human Emperor mentioned; human laws are necessary to constrain people’s actions.” The Emperor Slave explained, ”However, the Heavenly Dao and Earth Principle are different from human laws. You can think of them as opposites: one fully constrains your actions, and the other doesn’t constrain at all. In such a scenario, what would you choose?”

”Uh…” Su Yang scratched his head, still pondering the decision in his mind.

”Let me give you another example…” The Emperor Slave smiled: ”Young man, to what extent does the Heavenly Dao constrain people? Let me put it this way: the Heavenly Dao can dictate whom you marry. If the Heavenly Dao demands you to marry a woman you don’t love, what would you do?”

”Is the Heavenly Dao that boring?” Su Yang couldn’t help but ask.

”In ancient times, the Heavenly Dao was indeed that tedious!” The Emperor Slave shrugged. ”Actually, people once adhered to the Heavenly Dao universally. However, due to various reasons, they ultimately rebelled against the Heavenly Dao and became Heavenly Warriors. The Human Emperor exemplifies this; he initially followed the Heavenly Dao before the little princess was born. But after her birth, the Heavenly Dao ordered him to kill the little princess. What choice could the Human Emperor make at that point?”

”No way?” Su Yang widened his eyes again. ”Doesn’t the Heavenly Dao lack consciousness? How can it issue orders or instruct the Human Emperor to kill the little princess? Moreover, why would it want to do such a thing?”

”Indeed, the Heavenly Dao lacks consciousness. But it can deduce everything and foresee everyone’s future. It anticipated the little princess would play a major role among the Heavenly Warriors, so it commanded the Human Emperor to eliminate her to prevent future troubles,” said the Emperor Slave. ”And the execution of such commands by the Heavenly Dao is rather straightforward, which is the main purpose of the Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet. The Heavenly Dao Stone Tablet, condensed by the Heavenly Dao, displays its dictations through the texts that appear on it!”

”From what you’ve said, this Heavenly Dao seems akin to a computer program,” Su Yang frowned. ”If a certain program doesn’t fit, it has to be destroyed?”

”What computer program?” The Emperor Slave obviously didn’t understand.

”Never mind!” Su Yang waved his hand, knowing it would take too long to explain.

”Why is it that within a Great World, two types of regulations such as the Heavenly Dao and Earth Principle exist?” Su Yang asked with surprise.

”This is something the Human Emperor and others have studied,” the Emperor Slave said. ”These regulations might be related to Chaos. As you know, the world emerged from Chaos. What is the biggest difference between Chaos and space?”

Su Yang shook his head; he was unaware of these matters.

”Space is orderly Chaos,” the Emperor Slave replied. ”When Chaos is ordered, it transforms into space.”

”Order Chaos to transform it into space?” Su Yang’s eyes widened: ”What does it mean?”

”When you reach the Heavenly Realm, you’ll understand,” said the Emperor Slave. ”Cultivators at the Heavenly Level can convert Chaos into space and vice versa. During this conversion process, you’ll notice this phenomenon: ordered Chaos becomes space, and breaking the order of space turns it back into Chaos. So, space is ordered Chaos, and Chaos is disordered space.”

”And the Heavenly Dao is order. The Earth Principle is disorder,” the Emperor Slave gazed at Su Yang and softly said, ”It seems that the Heavenly Dao and Earth Principle are the regulations of space and Chaos. Adhering to the Heavenly Dao’s regulations is adhering to space’s rules, allowing you to absorb Heavenly Level Spiritual Energy, which is essentially spatial energy. Not adhering to the Heavenly Dao means following the Chaos rules, enabling the absorption of Earth-level Spiritual Energy, which is chaotic energy.”

Su Yang listened, dumbfounded; had it not been the Emperor Slave explaining, he wouldn’t know when he would learn such things. Across the Three Thousand Great Worlds, who knows how many are aware of these ancient secrets!

”If this is the case, then… why don’t we adhere to spatial rules?” Su Yang asked, astonished. ”If we follow chaotic regulations, which is the Earth Principle, will the space turn into Chaos?”
