Supreme Warrior in the City

Over these three hundred-plus years, all the Spiritual Sources that the Guardian Gods threw into the Land of Chaos were taken away by Su Yang.

However, apart from the Bright City Lord and those close confidants of Su Yang, no one else knew about this.

Seeing that no Spiritual Source had appeared for so many years, everyone once again verified what Su Yang had said before, and they also began to feel fortunate. Luckily, they had joined up with Su Yang in advance; otherwise, with a shortage of Spiritual Sources for such a long time, how many of them would still be alive now?

Because of this, Su Yang’s prestige among the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan grew higher and higher. Not to mention anything else, the Spiritual Sources used by the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan now were all supplied by Su Yang; Su Yang was practically their provider of food and clothing!

After the Guardian Gods discussed and worked out a specific plan, it took them another two hundred years of deploying troops and generals before they finally began marching toward the Land of Chaos.

This situation was perfectly normal, whether for the Guardian Gods, or for the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan.

In the past, when those Guardian Gods crossed realms to help other Guardian Gods, it was also after a very long time that they sent people over. Otherwise, how could those members of the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan possibly have escaped into the Land of Chaos?

This time, the Guardian Gods spent a total of six to seven hundred years before everything was finally arranged properly, and they began their campaign into the Land of Chaos.

And right at this moment, they were suddenly shocked to discover that among the more than one hundred attack positions they had chosen, only one passage was actually open. All the other passages had been sealed; they couldn’t get through at all. Moreover, they actually couldn’t break those seals!

In fact, even that single open passage was guarded by many experts of the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan. The army they sent in clashed with the allied forces, and both sides suffered heavy casualties. Neither side could do anything to the other, and the Guardian Gods still failed to break through the allied forces’ defensive line.

Only at this point did these Guardian Gods realize that something was wrong. How had the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan in the Land of Chaos joined forces? And why were the passages sealed? As for the one passage that wasn’t sealed, why was it fortified?

Faced with this, the Guardian Gods finally reacted a bit faster. Those Main Gods quickly gathered together, and after discussing the matter, each sent their own subordinates to investigate the passages from their respective Great Worlds into the Land of Chaos.

In the end, they discovered that the vast majority of the passages had been sealed, with only a little over fifty passages still open. And those open passages were also being guarded; they simply couldn’t get past.

This situation made the Guardian Gods fully understand that the allied forces inside the Land of Chaos had been prepared long ago. They had already arranged everything to prevent them from entering the Land of Chaos. Only now did they finally grasp how huge this matter really was!

They were very clear about what things were like inside the Land of Chaos. The Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan who entered were hostile to each other, and even between Main Cities, the relationship was one of competition.

The Guardian Gods had never made a move against them because they felt these people could never become a real threat.

This time, if it hadn’t been for the special situation in the Great World of Su Yang, they still wouldn’t have intended to act, planning instead to slowly wear down the power inside.

But now, these people had actually joined together. Furthermore, out of more than three thousand passages, only a little over fifty remained unsealed—this was a massive undertaking that absolutely could only have been done by the combined effort of the powerhouses in the Land of Chaos.

In such a situation, how could these Guardian Gods still not understand what was going on?

The Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan inside had clearly united completely. All the powerhouses in the Land of Chaos had joined forces to oppose the Guardian Gods and prevent them from entering the Land of Chaos!

The Guardian Gods grew somewhat flustered. They didn’t know what exactly had happened in the Land of Chaos that could make the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan truly unite.

Linking this with what had happened in Su Yang’s Great World, they vaguely felt that something must have occurred between the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan. That was why they had joined forces and were trying to overturn the situation.

As a result, the Guardian Gods could no longer remain calm.

Their earlier discussions had been so slow because they believed everything was under control; there was no need to worry about dealing with those people in the Land of Chaos. So they wanted to first discuss how to divide up the spoils and how to reduce their losses.

But now that they realized something was wrong, these Guardian Gods naturally stopped thinking about profits and losses. In this regard, the Guardian Gods acted quite decisively.

The Main Gods inside quickly discussed the situation and then formulated a new battle plan. All the Guardian Gods of the Great Worlds dispatched troops, combining their forces to attack those fifty-plus passages at the same time, determined to force their way into the Land of Chaos.

The Guardian Gods’ tactics were also very clear. The current strength of the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan was far inferior to theirs. Under such circumstances, they intended to cut through the mess with a sharp blade; no matter what had happened, they were going to completely annihilate the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan.

In the face of absolute power, any schemes or plots the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan might have were useless!

Thus, regardless of the cost, the Guardian Gods pressed forward with overwhelming force, determined to wipe out the powerhouses in the Land of Chaos.

All of this was within the scope of Su Yang and his allies’ plan.

The first step of Su Yang and his allies’ campaign was to place the battlefield within those fifty-plus passages. First, this reduced the number of battlefronts, allowing the allied forces to concentrate their manpower as much as possible. Second, fighting within those narrow passages neutralized the numerical advantage of the Guardian Gods, which was the best scenario for the allied forces.

The allied forces garrisoned the passages, while the Guardian Gods attacked. In this way, they fought for nearly a hundred years, with countless casualties on both sides.

In the end, the allied forces still couldn’t withstand the overwhelming offensive of the Guardian Gods, and those fifty-plus passages were successively breached.

The defeated allied forces quickly retreated, falling back to several Main Cities to hold them, and the garrisons within these Main Cities had already made full preparations.

Unaware of the situation inside the Land of Chaos, the Guardian Gods rapidly advanced to the vicinity of these Main Cities, only to be blocked once again.

Here, the numerical advantage of the Guardian Gods could be brought into play. However, the people in these Main Cities only defended without attacking, and the Main Cities could mutually support one another, which left the Guardian Gods in an extremely awkward position in the fighting.

These few Main Cities held out for more than three hundred years, but in the end they still couldn’t resist and were completely breached by the Guardian Gods.

In this battle, countless powerhouses of the allied forces died in combat. Even the Bright City Lord, who personally sat in town to command the defense, died in battle and sacrificed himself for the city!
