Supreme Warrior in the City

”What?” Su Yang exclaimed. They stared in disbelief at that Chaos Worm about the size of a loach. This thing was the King of Chaos Worm? Was this some kind of joke?

The old man patted that Chaos Worm, and it flew into the air, suddenly stretching to tens of thousands of meters long. Although it wasn’t as big as the adult Chaos Worm Su Yang had seen before, Su Yang and the others could feel that this Chaos Worm was definitely not ordinary.

Those Chaos Worms from before had just looked like enlarged maggots. This one, however, had a single horn and a hundred legs growing beneath its body. It looked anything but ordinary.

The key thing was that this Chaos Worm’s aura was very strong, far surpassing those Chaos Worms Su Yang had seen before!

”Th-this… this is really the King of Chaos Worm?” The Second City Lord cried out, ”No way, right? I… I actually know it?”

”You were the one who brought it to me back then. You really forgot?” the old man said lazily.

”Are you kidding me?” The Second City Lord’s eyes went wide. ”I brought it to you? I… I care about you that much?”

”Back then you dug up my grave and took everything from it. You left me with nothing but a pile of bones, you even stripped off the clothes I was buried in!” The old man’s tone revealed no joy or anger. ”You stole me clean, and in the end, you yourself accidentally dropped something, which was Little Green. Does that count as you bringing it to me?”

Su Yang glared furiously at the Second City Lord. What the hell had this bastard done? If you’re going to rob a grave, at least do it cleanly, will you? Now you’ve left behind a King of Chaos Worm, and it’s come back to smash your own foot!

”There was something like that?” The Second City Lord also looked embarrassed. ”Hey, man, really sorry about that. I always felt like I was missing something—turns out it was my most beloved Little Green. Elder, Little Green was something I went through great trouble to save, and raising it wasn’t easy. How about this, I’ll return everything I stole from you back then, and you give Little Green back to me, how about it?”

The old man smiled faintly. ”What do you think?”

”I think that’s totally workable!” the Second City Lord said. ”If you’re not happy about it, how about I throw in some extra stuff, I definitely won’t let you take a loss. We can talk this out, right? Think about it, Little Green was raised by me, it definitely has a deeper bond with me. You really have the heart to tear us apart like this?”

The old man gave another faint smile. This time he completely ignored the Second City Lord.

”Hey, man, whatever it is, we can negotiate. Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you, how about that?” The Second City Lord was still making a last-ditch effort.

The old man didn’t even glance at him. Instead he said to Su Yang, ”Young man, I trusted you a lot. It’s a pity you lied to me. In front of Little Green, you have absolutely no way to run. The Chaos Sparrow might be the nemesis of Chaos Worms, but there are still differences in rank and strength. That Little Chaos Sparrow of yours that hasn’t even grown up yet—how could it be a match for Little Green? If you want to run, that’s impossible. And you’ve made me very angry, so the deal we discussed before is now void!”

”Elder, don’t get worked up!” Su Yang hurriedly waved his hands, but the old man ignored him and slowly walked toward Su Yang.

Being stared at by the old man, Su Yang didn’t dare move around recklessly. He kept waving his hands and shouting, but the old man showed no sign of stopping.

Su Yang was extremely flustered. The old man’s strength was something he simply couldn’t contend with. How was he supposed to fight this battle?

Seeing the old man was about to walk right up to him, Su Yang suddenly shouted, ”Elder, you say I lied to you, but didn’t you also lie to me?”

The old man finally stopped. He frowned at Su Yang. ”I lied to you? How did I lie? I said I would back away, and I really did back away. Did I lie to you?”

”You did back away, but you also sealed this patch of Chaos!” Su Yang said. ”You never intended to let us leave. I asked you to step back so I could feel a bit safer, so I’d believe you really would let us go. In the end, you sealed this area of Chaos. What’s that supposed to mean? Is that your idea of backing away?”

As soon as he said that, the three Crystal Skulls at his side chimed in one after another. ”Boss is right. Old man, you really don’t play fair!”

”You broke the deal first, we had no choice but to resist. How can you blame us for that?”

”You old codger, always saying you never go back on your word. From where we’re standing, you’re nothing special. You’re really making your master lose face!”

The old man’s brows furrowed. After thinking for a while, he said in surprise, ”So what you’re saying is, this is my fault?”

Hearing him say that, Su Yang felt much more at ease inside. This old guy’s head really didn’t work too well, huh. And this is the guy serving as the First God’s servant?

Then again, on second thought, a servant might not need too high an IQ. Loyalty was enough.

Whatever else you said about this old guy, his loyalty definitely wasn’t a problem. No one even knew where the First God was now, but whenever he spoke of him, he was still full of respect. The First God had been dead for so many years, yet this guy had managed to serve him in life, in death, and even after being resurrected. That really wasn’t something just anyone could do!

”Elder, in this matter, you were wrong first and we were wrong later. Both sides are at fault. How about we call it even? What do you think?” Su Yang said.

The old man gave Su Yang a puzzled look and fell silent for a while. ”Fine, I’ll give you one more chance. Hand over the item and you can leave!”

”Elder, since we’ve called it even, we still have to proceed according to what we said before!” Su Yang said. ”You step back and give me a sense of security, then I’ll hand over the item! And this time you can’t seal the Chaos again.”

The old man shook his head. ”I won’t step back. Either you hand over the item, or I kill you and look for it myself!”

”Elder, that’s not keeping your word!” Su Yang said. ”You clearly promised us before that you’d back away, and now you’re refusing. Who does things like that?”

The old man stared at Su Yang for a while, as if making some sort of decision. After a moment of silence, he finally nodded. ”Fine, I’ll back away. But I’ll repeat myself: if you don’t hand over the item, I will definitely kill you all!”

”Of course!” Su Yang laughed. ”Elder, do we look like liars to you?”

The old man said nothing. He simply stepped back and vanished.

”Elder, you can’t have your Little Green seal the Chaos again!” Su Yang shouted loudly.

No one answered. It was impossible to tell whether the old man had run off far away or what.

This time, Su Yang and the others didn’t rush. They stood there waiting for a while. After confirming that the old man didn’t return, Su Yang took out three boxes and three keys and placed them in the Void.

”Elder, we’ve left the stuff for you. We’re leaving now!” Su Yang said as he spoke, urging the Chaos Sparrow to hurry and run.
