Supreme Warrior in the City

The battle commenced much earlier than Su Yang had anticipated.

Just as he had finished gathering the members from the Heavenly War Alliance, the Guardian God had already begun to move.

The Guardian God’s target was very clear, directly heading towards the Heavenly War Alliance, considering it was Su Yang who had rescued those Great Saint Emperors.

Moreover, although Su Yang had gathered ninety percent of the Human Race Saint Emperors, their strength was not even one-tenth of the Demon Beast Clan, making them the real soft targets. It was only natural that the Guardian God would first deal with the Human Clan.

However, this time things were completely different from before.

Previously, when the Guardian God came to deal with the Heavenly War Alliance, the Demon Beast Clan would choose to just stand by and watch.

But, after this incident, the Demon Beast Clan and the Human Clan had truly joined forces.

Those Great Saint Emperors had narrowly escaped death; they knew very well that the Guardian God would not spare them. Once the Guardian God dealt with the Heavenly War Alliance, they would be next. Therefore, when the Guardian God struck at the Heavenly War Alliance, members of the Demon Beast Clan also rushed to join forces with the Human Clan on Su Yang’s side, to jointly resist the Guardian God.

Amazingly, even under such circumstances, a senior figure from the Guardian God faction warned the Demon Beast Clan from above, admonishing them to retreat immediately or face the consequences.

The Great Saint Emperors had already suffered such a loss; how could they be intimidated by the Guardian God again? Thus, as soon as words were exchanged, both sides immediately started to fight.

Admittedly, the Guardian God’s power was incredibly formidable. Even though the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan had united, they were no match for the Guardian God; at the first encounter, countless members of the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan were lost, while the Guardian God held an absolute advantage.

The first confrontation lasted nearly three months, ending with losses of thirty percent personnel on the side of the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan, while the Guardian God not only had overwhelming Saint Emperor strength but also far superior numbers. Given these circumstances, there was no real hope for the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan in their battle against the Guardian God.

After the battle concluded, Su Yang led the Heavenly War Alliance and the Demon Beast Clan to retreat from half of the Great World, hiding all the way to the edge near the Land of Chaos before stopping.

The defeat in the great battle plunged the spirits of the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan to the lowest possible level. Both the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan members wore expressions of obvious despair.

The Guardian God had merely sent a squad to battle them, not even mobilizing the full force. Should the Guardian God deploy the entire military, would there be any hope left for the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan?

In this battle, over twenty Great Saint Emperors had perished, leaving the Demon Beast Clan with only sixty to seventy Great Saint Emperors remaining, each feeling utterly despondent.

In truth, even the Demon Beast Clan was not entirely clear on the exact strength of the Guardian God. Previously, the Demon Beast Clan had always boasted that their power could rival the Guardian God. But only after this battle did they realize how far their strength actually lagged behind!

Consequently, after this battle, many Saint Emperors in the Demon Beast Clan began considering retreat. Given this was a battle destined for failure, continuing only meant participating in a futile sacrifice. These Demon Beast Saint Emperors only desired to hide away, hoping at least to live a little longer.

The situation on the Human Clan’s side was slightly better, with some considering hiding as well, though they were in the minority. For the Human Clan, from birth, they either became food for the Demon Beast Clan or farmers for the Guardian God. Their fate was predetermined. Therefore, being able to fight for their own future actually brought a slight glimmer of hope.

However, the Guardian God’s overwhelming strength dampened their spirits as well. Was there any hope if the fighting continued like this?

Just as everyone settled down, the Great Saint Emperors from the Demon Beast Clan immediately came to find Su Yang, to discuss what to do next.

”Su Alliance Leader, the Guardian God’s strength far exceeds our expectations. In this battle, we have no hope at all!” The Carefree Great Saint Emperor, being close to Su Yang, was the first to voice these thoughts.

Su Yang furrowed his brow; this turn of events was completely unexpected for him. Based on his initial estimate, the combined strength of the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan should be around sixty percent of the Guardian God’s. Yet, after the battle, Su Yang realized that even their united strength barely reached twenty percent of the Guardian God’s, leading to a dramatic imbalance of power between the two sides.

Moreover, the Guardian God’s camp had too many powerful warriors. During the initial battle, the Human and Demon Beast Clans combined had nearly eighty Great Saint Emperors. Meanwhile, the Guardian God’s side, in just one group, had about three to four hundred Great Saint Emperors.

Understandably, a single Great Saint Emperor’s combat strength was equivalent to hundreds of ordinary Saint Emperors. Crucially, the role of a Great Saint Emperor in battle was irreplaceable.

Given these circumstances, with smaller numbers and far fewer high-level fighters than the other side, the result of the battle naturally tilted overwhelmingly in the Guardian God’s favor.

Yet what truly puzzled Su Yang was that, given the Guardian God’s immense power, why would they send the Nine Palace Main God to the Land of Chaos to seek allies?

With such strength, the Guardian God could easily deal with the Human Clan and Demon Beast Clan, requiring no major sacrifices. Nevertheless, the Guardian God stayed patient all this time and exerted great effort by dispatching the Nine Palace Main God to find assistance in the Land of Chaos; was this not redundant?

The Guardian God was unlikely to engage in such pointless endeavors, hence there must be something happening here that Su Yang was unaware of, which also impacted the overall strength dynamics of the opposing sides.

After pondering for a while, Su Yang suddenly asked, ”By the way, doesn’t your Demon Beast Clan have a Great Saint Emperor whose power is second only to the last Main God of the Guardian God? Is this Great Saint Emperor not with you?”

”Are you referring to the Kunpeng Great Saint Emperor?” The Carefree Great Saint Emperor sighed and said, ”The Kunpeng Great Saint Emperor disappeared ten thousand years ago, and there has been no news since!”

”Disappeared!?” Su Yang was startled, ”How did he disappear? Where did he disappear?”

Everyone shook their heads, and the Carefree Great Saint Emperor said helplessly, ”If the Kunpeng Great Saint Emperor were still here, the Guardian God wouldn’t dare treat us like this. Just because the Kunpeng Great Saint Emperor isn’t here anymore, our Demon Beast Clan’s strength has declined to the extreme, leaving us vulnerable to the Guardian God’s oppression!”
