Supreme Warrior in the City

”Brother Jinghong really does see things clearly!” Su Yang nodded and said softly, ”The Demon Beast Clan is already at a very critical moment. The Guardian God is already plotting to make a move!”

Jinghong Saint King’s eyes widened. He was silent for a long time before his expression turned desolate again: ”I truly didn’t expect the Guardian God to act so soon. But this matter, sooner or later, was always going to come. It’s just a pity that my Demon Beast Clan, up until now, has never fully recognized the Guardian God’s true face, and up until now has never truly united to resist the Guardian God!”

”Hehe…” Su Yang gave a bitter smile. ”Even if the Demon Beast Clan united, could you really stand against the Guardian God?”

”This…” Jinghong Saint King was instantly at a loss for words. After a moment of silence, he said in a low voice, ”At the very least we could resist for a period of time, instead of being like we are now. The enemy is almost at our doorstep, yet the Demon Beast Clan is still fantasizing about sharing this Great World with the Guardian God, and then slowly waiting to die.”

”Brother Jinghong, you sound pretty pessimistic!” Su Yang said with a smile.

”Hmm?” Jinghong Saint King couldn’t help being stunned. He looked at Su Yang in surprise, not understanding why Su Yang’s attitude had suddenly changed.

”I mean, Brother Jinghong is very pessimistic about the future of the Demon Beast Clan!” Su Yang said. ”Do you really think the Demon Beast Clan is completely finished?”

”Or else what?” Jinghong Saint King asked in surprise.

”If I told you the Demon Beast Clan still has hope, would you believe it?” Su Yang asked.

Jinghong Saint King stared at Su Yang for a long time. ”Say it, let me hear it!”

”Has Brother Jinghong never thought about the Human Clan?” Su Yang asked with a faint smile.

Hearing this, Jinghong Saint King’s eyes instantly widened. He stared at Su Yang for a long while, then suddenly exclaimed, ”You… behind you, is there support from the Human Clan?”

”Hahaha…” Su Yang laughed. ”Brother Jinghong is indeed remarkably sharp!”

Jinghong Saint King drew in a sharp breath, his face full of shock.

”So that’s it, that’s it! We were total strangers, why would you save me for no reason? Turns out it was for this. The Human Clan behind you wants to use me to connect with the Demon Beast Clan, wants to use me, to use the Demon Beast Clan to fight the Guardian God?”

”Brother Jinghong, now you’re overthinking it!” Su Yang said solemnly. ”Among the three great races of the Great World, the Human Clan is the weakest. What ability do we have to ’use’ the Demon Beast Clan to fight the Guardian God? The Human Clan’s goal is very simple: they don’t want to become food for the Demon Beast Clan, and they don’t want to become oxen plowing the fields for the Guardian God. So the Human Clan must resist. They want to fight for themselves, to oppose the Guardian God, to take control of their own destiny!”

Jinghong Saint King looked at Su Yang, his expression shifting for a long time before he finally nodded slowly. ”So, the Human Clan’s goal is just to join up with the Demon Beast Clan and deal with the Guardian God?”

”That’s right!” Su Yang nodded. ”Brother Jinghong is a sensible man. You should know the Human Clan has no other choice. So the Human Clan has to unite with the Demon Beast Clan to resist the Guardian God!”

”Do you think this is possible?” Jinghong Saint King countered.

”Where there are people, there’s a way!” Su Yang said. ”If it was in the past, if I’d brought this up, Brother Jinghong definitely wouldn’t have believed it. But now? The Heavenly War Alliance has developed to this point; half of the Human Clan’s world is united and has already become a force that cannot be underestimated. At this moment, the Human Clan comes to talk about an alliance with the Demon Beast Clan—do you think it’s possible?”

”So the people behind you are those from the Heavenly War Alliance?” Jinghong Saint King asked.

”You guessed it again, Brother Jinghong!” Su Yang nodded with a faint smile. ”It’s them!”

”When did you all unite?” Jinghong Saint King asked in a deep voice.

”A long time ago. You know that previous great war between the Guardian God and the Demon Beast Clan? That was them pulling the strings from behind the scenes.” Su Yang said.

”What?” Jinghong Saint King’s eyes went wide. He hadn’t expected the Heavenly War Alliance to have such capability.

”Do you know how many members of my Demon Beast Clan died in that war?” Jinghong Saint King asked in a deep voice.

”And do you know how many members of the Demon Beast Clan woke up because of that war?” Su Yang shot back.

Jinghong Saint King fell silent, just as Su Yang said. After that battle, quite a few Great Saint Emperors saw the gap between the Demon Beast Clan and the Guardian God. Precisely because of that, those Great Saint Emperors were shocked in their hearts and began urging the Demon Beast Clan to speed up their cultivation.

”Moreover, after that war, we also gained a rough understanding of the Guardian God’s power!” Su Yang said softly. ”Knowing yourself and knowing the enemy is the key, isn’t it?”

Jinghong Saint King looked at Su Yang. ”What exactly are you trying to say? Just say it straight!”

”We want to use you, Brother Jinghong, to unite the Demon Beast Clan and bring about an alliance between the Demon Beast Clan and the Human Clan to fight the Guardian God!” Su Yang said.

”I don’t have that kind of ability!” Jinghong Saint King said directly. ”This is a decision only a Great Saint Emperor can make, and even then it has to be discussed and approved jointly by the majority of the Great Saint Emperors!”

”You may not have it yet, but you will later.” Su Yang said with a light smile. ”First I need to know, Brother Jinghong, what is your attitude toward an alliance between the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan?”

Jinghong Saint King was silent for a long time, then gritted his teeth and said, ”If we can first resolve the crisis posed by the Guardian God, everything else is unimportant!”

Su Yang smiled. With this sentence from Jinghong Saint King, the plan could proceed.

”Brother Jinghong, you’re already a Saint Emperor now. Next, you can return to the Demon Beast Clan!” Su Yang said with a light laugh. ”Go back to the Luan Yu Dynasty first!”

”Go back?” Jinghong Saint King looked at Su Yang in surprise. ”What exactly do you want to do? If I go back now, the other Demon Beast Dynasties will definitely come to question me immediately. Even if I need to show my face, I shouldn’t go to the Luan Yu Dynasty. That would only cause trouble for Luan Yu!”

”I understand what you mean…” Su Yang said softly. ”But didn’t I already tell you? If we want the other demon beasts to accept an alliance with the Human Clan, we have to use some special means. Trying to persuade them directly has too little chance of success; we have to use some special methods.”

Jinghong Saint King frowned, staring at Su Yang for a long time before asking in a deep voice, ”Will this method hurt Luan Yu?”

”Don’t worry. They might face tremendous pressure for a short time and might get hurt, but there will absolutely be no danger to their lives!” Su Yang said.

Jinghong Saint King slowly nodded. ”Alright, we’ll do as you say. But before that, I still want to ask you one thing!”

”Brother Jinghong, ask whatever you like!” Su Yang nodded with a smile.
