Supreme Warrior in the City

The Jinghong Saint King looked at Su Yang: ”You mentioned earlier that someone familiar to me is among you. Who is it?”

”Hahaha...” Su Yang laughed loudly, looking up.

”What are you laughing at?” Jinghong Saint King frowned.

”You really are asking that question!” Su Yang laughed, ”It’s indeed someone familiar to you, and he received great favors from you in the past.”

”Who?” Jinghong Saint King pressed further.

”Do you remember, there was once someone under your command known as the Saint Venerable Jiushi?” Su Yang asked.

”Saint Venerable Jiushi?” Jinghong Saint King froze for a moment, then frowned: ”Saint Venerable Jiushi was killed by Ling Feng God, why are you bringing him up?”

”What if I told you he’s not dead, would you believe me?” Su Yang asked.

”Not dead!?” Jinghong Saint King’s eyes widened in disbelief: ”How can that be? Ling Feng God took action, how could he... how could he possibly survive? The entire city was gone, and he lived through it?”

”Not only did he survive, but he has also become a Saint Emperor!” Su Yang said, ”He’s one of us now, although he’s doing things elsewhere. Brother Jinghong, maybe in some time, you might get to see him!”

Jinghong Saint King’s face was filled with shock; he could never have imagined that the familiar acquaintance Su Yang referred to was Saint Venerable Jiushi.

Still, thinking about Saint Venerable Jiushi being alive brought him some joy. After all, he had thought very highly of Saint Venerable Jiushi and planned to cultivate him as his successor.

It was precisely because Ling Feng God killed Saint Venerable Jiushi that Jinghong Saint King lashed out in anger, causing factions within the Demon Beast Clan to unite and stir hostility against the Guardian God. In fact, the previous battle between the Guardian God and the Demon Beast Clan was significantly fueled by Jinghong Saint King, which led the Guardian God to desperately want to eliminate him!

”How did he survive?” Jinghong Saint King couldn’t help but ask, still unable to accept the fact. Surviving under Ling Feng God’s hand seemed almost impossible, didn’t it?

”Because Su Alliance Leader gave him a Protective Jade Talisman, Ling Feng God destroyed the city, but this talisman preserved Jiushi’s soul!” Su Yang explained, ”Ling Feng God was arrogant enough not to even glance back after taking action. So, he is unaware that Jiushi survived!”

Jinghong Saint King was dumbfounded, and after a long pause, he frowned and said: ”So you already had Saint Venerable Jiushi chosen?”

Su Yang smiled calmly: ”Not just him; among the Saint Emperors who saved you last time, several were chosen by us a long time ago.”

”Why?” Jinghong Saint King asked gravely, ”Why were they chosen?”

”Because they have the qualifications to become Saint Emperors!” Su Yang answered, ”The existing Saint Emperors surely won’t cooperate with us. So, we must cultivate our own Saint Emperors!”

Jinghong Saint King suddenly realized, thinking back to why he had favored Saint Venerable Jiushi for his extraordinary potential to become a Saint Emperor.

”So, this plan of yours started a long time ago!” Jinghong Saint King exclaimed.

”Yes, a long time ago...” Su Yang spoke softly, ”Ever since Red Leaf God left the Guardian Land, although formal action only began recently.”

”Is Red Leaf God’s matter related to you too?” Jinghong Saint King asked in surprise.

”Of course it’s related!” Su Yang said, ”We’ve already killed Red Leaf God!”

”Ah?” Jinghong Saint King widened his eyes, as Red Leaf God was one of the Three Great Main Gods.

”Thus...” Su Yang spoke softly, ”You should now understand our determination, right? This war with the Guardian God is already a fight to the death. It’s either we annihilate the Guardian God or be annihilated by them. But you must know, if we sit idle and do nothing, the outcome will still be annihilation by the Guardian God. So why not take the chance when we have it? If we win, it will be an eternal victory for the Human Clan and the Demon Beast Clan!”

Jinghong Saint King nodded slowly, Su Yang’s words had convinced him. As Su Yang said, they had no choice but to try.

”Alright!” Jinghong Saint King declared, ”Tell me what to do, and I’ll fully cooperate with you!”

Su Yang nodded with a faint smile: ”First, you need to return to the Luan Yu Dynasty. During the upcoming period, you should hide your power and not let anyone discover you are a Saint Emperor. Then, some of those Demon Beast Saint Emperors will seek trouble with you, and you must seize the right opportunity to kill one of them!”

”Kill directly?” Jinghong Saint King asked in surprise, ”Wouldn’t that escalate the situation? Those Demon Beast Saint Emperors have allied with the Guardian God. In the past, your group has killed Demon Beast Saint Emperors, but since the Guardian God couldn’t find you, and since you don’t count as a Saint Emperor of the Demon Beast Clan, the matter ended there. However, if I do it, I am part of the Demon Beast Clan, then the Guardian God will use it to pressure the Demon Beast Clan!”

”It’s precisely about escalating the situation!” Su Yang replied softly, ”Do you know what the biggest problem is in the alliance between the Human Clan and Demon Beast Clan?”

Jinghong Saint King thought for a while and then shook his head: ”I never considered cooperating with the Human Clan, so I truly don’t know what the biggest problem would be!”

”The biggest problem is the arrogance of the Demon Beast Clan!” Su Yang said, ”Don’t you realize? In this Great World, the Guardian God looks down on both the Demon Beast Clan and the Human Clan, while the Demon Beast Clan despises the Human Clan. To put it bluntly, in the Guardian God’s view, both the Demon Beast Clan and the Human Clan are seen as beasts. Yet, the Demon Beast Clan considers themselves as more superior beasts, looking down on the weaker Human Clan. Therefore, the Demon Beast Clan refuses to cooperate with the Human Clan, believing the Human Clan is too lowly to be worthy of alliance!”

Jinghong Saint King’s heart moved slightly; though he never thought this way before, hearing Su Yang speak now, he understood the situation. As Su Yang pointed out, he never considered cooperation with the Human Clan mainly because he never held them in regard.

Previously, when the Human Clan was weaker, the Guardian God and Demon Beast Clan united, splitting the Human Clan apart. For the Demon Beast Clan, the Human Clan was merely food, while for the Guardian God, the Human Clan was just beasts used for farming. In such circumstances, how could the Demon Beast Clan think of allying with the Human Clan?

Simply put, it’s disdain and contempt; the Demon Beast Clan looks down on the Human Clan, hence never considered alliance!
