Supreme Warrior in the City

Su Yang still didn’t know much about the Demon Beast Clan. Now, after hearing from Jinghong Saint King, he finally had an understanding of them.

The Demon Beast Clan is a powerful race, capable of rivaling the Guardian Gods, much like the Heavenly Warriors. However, the problem is that the Demon Beast Clan is too complex, too internally chaotic, and cannot unite, thus always being at a disadvantage against the Guardian Gods.

The Guardian Gods also understand the strength of the Demon Beast Clan, so they haven’t exterminated them entirely but have reached a so-called agreement with them. In fact, this agreement is very unfair to the Demon Beast Clan, yet it does not completely anger them, leading to the current situation.

The Demon Beast Clan is angry with the Guardian Gods, but this anger hasn’t reached a point where they can unite to fight back collectively. As a result, though powerful, the Demon Beast Clan remains entangled in internal strife, always suppressed by the Guardian Gods.

Su Yang sighed softly and muttered, ”My lord, I understand!”

Jinghong Saint King glanced at Su Yang and slowly shook his head, ”You don’t understand.”

Su Yang looked at Jinghong Saint King in confusion, ”I will make them retreat and stop opposing the Beast Tamers, and I will release those Beast Tamers.”

”That’s why I said you don’t understand,” Jinghong Saint King said softly, ”That’s not what I want you to do.”

”Oh?” Su Yang was taken aback. He thought Jinghong Saint King was trying to persuade him to compromise and release those Beast Tamers.

In fact, Su Yang was still worried about how to deal with this matter.

The Saint Emperor had sent an envoy with orders, and Jinghong Saint King had spoken at length. If he still didn’t release those Beast Tamers, it would be too much.

But who could have imagined that Jinghong Saint King didn’t mean that? If not, then why say all this?

As if seeing Su Yang’s confusion, Jinghong Saint King said softly, ”I told you all this to make sure you don’t release them. In fact, it would be best to kill those Beast Tamers!”

”Huh?” Su Yang stared at Jinghong Saint King in astonishment. What does he mean by this? Clearly, the matter had escalated to the point where even the Saint Emperor could not withstand the pressure, and had to send an envoy to resolve it, yet he’s asking me to withstand the pressure and kill those Beast Tamers. What does he mean by this? Does he want me to take the fall? Just say so if you want to harm me, there’s no need for all these troubles, right?

Jinghong Saint King continued, ”Do you know why the Saint Emperor ordered us to monitor those Beast Tamers?”

Su Yang shook his head. Could there be some connection between the two?

”Not only has our Saint Emperor issued such an order, but some other Saint Emperors have done the same,” said Jinghong Saint King. ”This matter has not only happened here but elsewhere as well. It’s just that other Saint Emperors didn’t escalate the situation like it has here, nor did they have Beast Tamers killing Holy Beasts. Only here did such things occur!”

Su Yang said nothing, as he knew all too well what was going on. Because in other places, no one pretended to be a Beast Tamer to kill Holy Beasts like he did, of course, nothing like this would happen there.

”I don’t know what the Saint Emperors truly intend, but I do know that the Demon Beast Clan has been enduring for too long. The Saint Emperors sending beasts to monitor the Beast Tamers might be a signal that they are preparing to launch a counterattack on the Demon Beast Clan!” Jinghong Saint King looked at Su Yang and said softly, ”That’s why I made this decision. Do not release the Beast Tamers, and instead, kill them!”

”Doing so will surely escalate this issue immediately. Then, the stance of the Saint Emperors will matter. I will try my best to blow this issue wide open, allowing many dynasties to learn about it, which might attract the support of all Demon Beasts. And with the Saint Emperors already having intentions against the Beast Tamers, by doing this, you might become a great hero of the Demon Beast Clan. By then, if the Guardian Gods go after you, it could act as a trigger to unite the Demon Beast Clan in opposition!”

At this, Jinghong Saint King sighed softly and said, ”Of course, doing this is extremely dangerous. You might face immense pressure, and even risk your life. Moreover, the best outcome is as I described, but the likelihood of this happening is very low. In other words, if you choose to do this, the ultimate result could be nine deaths for one life, or perhaps, that’s an optimistic estimate, maybe it will just be certain death. But for the Demon Beast Clan, are you willing to do this?”

Su Yang looked at Jinghong Saint King. This was the first time he had some understanding of the Jinghong Saint King. This Jinghong Saint King really shocked him.

As a Saint King, his talent and demeanor were far beyond that of other Saint Kings. Furthermore, his ambitious strategies could not be matched by other Saint Kings. Most importantly, as a Saint King who only governed such a small region, he harbors aspirations for the entire Demon Beast Clan, even wanting to single-handedly rally the entire Clan against the Guardian Gods. If Jinghong Saint King hadn’t personally said this, Su Yang wouldn’t have believed it.

This was something even the Saint Emperors dared not think, yet a Saint King dared to do so. It was simply unbelievable!

Su Yang took a deep breath, slowly nodded, ”I am willing, for the Demon Beast Clan, even if it costs me my life, what of it? The Demon Beast Clan cannot always be treated as livestock, cannot always be kept as mere animals. Because we are not beasts, we may lack Heavenly Dao and Earth Principle, but we are no weaker than them, which indicates that we are the true masters of this universe!”

Jinghong Saint King looked at Su Yang in surprise, as if not expecting him to say such words. After a long while, he nodded slowly and smiled, ”Indeed, we are not beasts; we are the true masters of this universe. Jiushi, you’ve truly made me see you in a new light. If this could be accomplished, you will be forever remembered in the history of the Demon Beast Clan. You will become the true guide for the Demon Beast Clan!”

Su Yang said softly, ”I just don’t want us to be trampled on. I never thought of being some sort of guide!”

In truth, inside, Su Yang was shouting that his sole purpose in doing this was to protect the Nine Realms. Otherwise, why would Su Yang embark on such a suicidal mission?

For the Demon Beast Clan, come on, what does the Demon Beast Clan have to do with Su Yang? After all, he wasn’t a demon beast!
