Supreme Warrior in the City

Su Yang and the others had been running in this valley for quite a while, yet they still hadn’t reached the end. The extent of this valley’s range was unknown, making it seem almost impossible to escape.

Along the way, they found more and more skeletal remains. And these remains mostly belonged to strong warriors.

This situation left Su Yang deeply shocked.

What kind of valley was this, and why did so many strong warriors perish here?

The most crucial question was, if even these powerful warriors died here, what chance did Su Yang and his companions have of surviving?

After running for a while, the Second City Lord suddenly said, ”Big brother, I can’t take it anymore. Let’s rest. I... I really can’t go on, I... I can’t run any further…”

”You can’t run any further?” Su Yang was stunned. At their level of cultivation, even if their power was suppressed, their bodies were still incredibly strong. Running for months would be no problem at all, so what was this about not being able to run?

He turned his head and saw that the three Crystal Skulls were panting heavily, looking very exhausted. Especially the Second City Lord, who was nearly collapsed on the ground, his skeletal frame trembling continuously.

”Are you really that tired?” Su Yang couldn’t help but say, ”We’ve only been running for a short while, and you’re already this tired? Who are you trying to fool?”

”Big brother, we... we really are very tired…” said the Great City Lord, gasping for breath. ”For some reason, after running for a bit, we feel completely drained. Are... are you feeling fine while running?”

If even the Great City Lord personally said so, there must be no doubt about the matter.

Su Yang frowned. What exactly was going on?

Under normal circumstances, given their strength, even if their power was indeed limited, relying solely on the power of their bodies to run in this place shouldn’t be an issue.

But why were these three guys so exhausted?

The most crucial question was why only they felt fatigued while Su Yang felt nothing. Was there something special about this place?

After thinking for a moment, Su Yang said, ”Alright, then let’s take a short break.”

The three Crystal Skulls immediately collapsed on the ground, visibly very exhausted.

Su Yang, however, didn’t sit down. He walked around, observing the surroundings, hoping to find any peculiar traces.

However, he didn’t discover anything.

After about half an hour, Su Yang returned to their previous spot, only to find the three of them lying on the ground.

”Hey, have you rested enough? Let’s go!” Su Yang called out.

”Big brother, we can’t. We… we can’t even lift a finger now…” the Second City Lord cried out urgently, ”It feels like all our power is gone…”

”What!?” Su Yang immediately ran over, finding the Great City Lord and the Third City Lord in the same state, lying on the ground, seemingly unable to move.

”What’s going on?” Su Yang asked, puzzled.

”I... I suspect our power is being drained…” the Great City Lord said, ”Otherwise, how… how could we feel more tired with more rest?”

”Power being drained?” Su Yang was taken aback. What was this situation? Could this place actually drain someone’s power?

”However, I don’t feel anything!” Su Yang said.

The three Crystal Skulls looked at Su Yang with a face of grievance, knowing that Su Yang felt nothing. He was jumping around energetically, not looking powerless at all. But the problem was, the others weren’t like him!

”This… it might be a matter of physical constitution…” the Great City Lord said, ”We… we don’t have physical bodies, only skeletons; perhaps we can’t hold onto our power. You’re different, having a physical body, making your situation somewhat better…”

”Is that so?” Su Yang questioned, wondering if the presence of a physical body was truly preventing his power from being drained.

Su Yang felt this wasn’t the case, and the situation might not be that simple.

If it were, how did those strong warriors die here?

Those warriors must have been subject to some restrictions, ultimately leading to their deaths here.

After pondering for a while, Su Yang said in a serious tone, ”This place is very sinister, we can’t linger here too long.”

With that, Su Yang straightforwardly put the three of them into the Personal Space and moved on. It seemed there was no point in relying on them in this place; better to depend on himself.

Traveling alone, Su Yang wasn’t restricted and began sprinting wildly through the valley.

Su Yang didn’t know how vast this area was, running at full speed for an unknown amount of time until a gigantic chasm appeared before him.

The abyss was pitch-black, making it impossible to see anything within. Additionally, Su Yang noticed a mass of black mist gradually spreading, as though slowly seeping from the abyss.

Su Yang, filled with doubt, wondered what all this meant. What was this abyss?

Standing by the chasm and pondering for some time, Su Yang eventually decided not to descend.

He was here to find the Dean and the others, not to explore recklessly.

Given the situation, the Dean and his companions likely wouldn’t have jumped into this chasm. Therefore, diving into it held little value—Su Yang wouldn’t find the Dean and his group there and would be putting himself at unnecessary risk, which wasn’t what Su Yang needed to do right now.

So, Su Yang turned around and started running back.

Su Yang didn’t choose another direction; he ran all the way back to the spot where they initially fell.

During his run, Su Yang contemplated how these mighty warriors could have died after falling into this place.

If their power was merely restricted but their bodies remained strong, it wouldn’t result in such deaths. They surely would have run around trying to find a way out instead of slowly waiting to die here.

Thus, Su Yang speculated that their bodily strength might have been siphoned off, leaving them to perish here miserably.

If this hypothesis were correct, two questions arose.

First, why wasn’t Su Yang’s bodily strength drained?

Second, if the Dean and his companions fell into this place, were their bodily powers also drained?

To verify his guess, Su Yang returned to their initial fall spot to begin a meticulous search of the surroundings.

If Su Yang’s hypothesis held true—that the physical body couldn’t prevent power drainage—then the Dean and his group would also have lost their strength and wouldn’t have gotten far. Thus, starting a systematic search from their fall position should lead him to find them quickly.
