Supreme Warrior in the City

The skeleton gaped, its eyes blankly staring at Su Yang, clearly unable to understand what Su Yang meant. Or rather, it simply didn’t understand a word Su Yang was saying.

In fact, Su Yang didn’t expect these skeletons to understand him. With the limited intelligence of these skeletons, even normal humans wouldn’t comprehend Su Yang’s words in this World Melting Furnace. After all, the language spoken here can’t possibly be the same as that of humans, can it?

After dealing with the this troop of skeletons, Su Yang charged forward. Since the skeleton with the Space Artifact had reached this level, Su Yang would search this level for it.

Inside the house, there were indeed several skeletons sitting cross-legged on the floor, seemingly cultivating something. Su Yang could visibly see the yin energy continuously seeping into their bones, gradually strengthening them bit by bit.

Su Yang was inwardly surprised. These skeletons could actually use the yin energy here for cultivation, which wasn’t good news at all. Who knows if there could be some powerful existences among these skeletons?

The sudden appearance of Su Yang also made these skeletons in the house simultaneously turn to look at him.

After locking eyes with Su Yang for a moment, all these skeletons immediately leaped up and lunged toward him.

Though these skeletons could cultivate, in reality, their fighting abilities weren’t much stronger than the skeletons outside.

The power within Su Yang erupted, directly sending these skeletons flying.

Without pausing, Su Yang continued deeper. Along the way, he indeed encountered several skeletons, all of them cultivating.

However, compared to Su Yang, their fighting capabilities were far too inferior, and they were all easily dealt with by him.

Yet, Su Yang didn’t feel any triumph; instead, he grew worried. Because as he ventured deeper into the house, the fighting abilities of the skeletons he encountered became increasingly powerful.

The further in he went, the stronger the skeletons became.

These skeletons seemed to have a hierarchy, with the weakest on the outside. The deeper he went, the stronger they were.

Finally, Su Yang reached the deepest part of the house.

Here, there were only three skeletons.

However, these three skeletons were noticeably different from those outside.

These three skeletons’ bones emitted a faint glow, resembling a Netherworld Ghost Fire.

The skeletons outside mostly had no eyes, and those with eyes only had some rotting remnants.

These three skeletons also had no eyes, but within their eye sockets, there was a flickering ghostly fire.

This ghost fire seemed like eyes, and Su Yang could even sense emotional fluctuations from it.

When Su Yang appeared, the three skeletons were very surprised and furious, as if someone had intruded on their territory.

One of the skeletons on the outermost side jumped up, extending a bony finger at Su Yang, ghost fire flickering in its sockets, seemingly expressing something.

Su Yang felt a wave of spiritual fluctuation, his eyes widened suddenly, as he could sense the skeleton’s intention through the fluctuation.

This skeleton was questioning who he was and why he dared to trespass on the territory of the three ghost fires!

Su Yang was shocked; he thought these skeletons were incapable of communication, yet there appeared to be a chance for dialogue.

Taking a deep breath, Su Yang immediately projected a spiritual fluctuation, asking if they had seen a Space Artifact.

”Space Artifact?”

The three skeletons experienced a simultaneous spiritual fluctuation, exchanging glances as if they had thought of something.

Su Yang’s eyes lit up. Without a doubt, these three skeletons had seen the Space Artifact. This meant Su Yang was searching in the right place.

”Where is the Space Artifact?” Su Yang asked using spiritual fluctuation.

”Who are you to question us?” a skeleton responded indignantly.

Su Yang wasted no words, directly unleashing his power.

The intense pressure caused the ghost fires within the three skeletons’ eye sockets to flicker rapidly. Su Yang didn’t need to sense the spiritual fluctuation to detect their fear.

The strength of the three skeletons wasn’t weak, but compared to Su Yang, they were still far inferior!

The leading skeleton immediately stood up, its spiritual fluctuation trembling: ”The Space Artifact isn’t with us!”

”Where is it?” Su Yang pressed without any extra words.

”We... we gave it to the Great City Lord...”

”The Great City Lord?” Su Yang frowned, ”Who is the Great City Lord?”

”The... the master of this city...”

”The master of this city!?” Su Yang’s expression changed slightly. For such a large city, what level of power must its master possess?

Considering these three skeletons, they might be notable figures on this level, but in the entire city, they probably wouldn’t even rank. Nevertheless, their fighting power was still not weak.

This being referred to as the Great City Lord, what kind of power would they possess?

After pondering for a moment, Su Yang suddenly asked, ”Who are you?”

”We are the three ghost fires...” the skeleton replied.

”I’m asking how you came here?” Su Yang frowned, ”Why are you here? Why are you like this?”

The three skeletons looked utterly confused, seemingly unable to understand Su Yang’s words.

”Your flesh bodies?” Su Yang asked more bluntly.

”What flesh bodies?” The three skeletons were puzzled.

Su Yang was a bit bewildered. Did these three skeletons not know what ’flesh body’ meant?

Staring at the three skeletons for a while, a thought suddenly struck Su Yang.

These skeletons probably really didn’t know what a flesh body was!

It was clear that this city was a Dead City, and all the life within it had surely died.

Otherwise, there wouldn’t be so much yin energy concentrated.

These skeletons should be the remnants of the people who died before.

After those people died, they lost their memories as well.

Their remaining flesh bodies turned to skeletons, soaked in the yin energy over such a long time, gradually invaded by the yin energy, thus slowly resurrecting.

However, this resurrection resembles the rebirth of a new life, not the resurrection of the original people.

This means that after these skeletons resurrected, they actually had no previous memories.

Like newborn infants, they forgot everything from before.

Everything they knew, all their understanding had to be explored gradually, with no one to teach them.

All the skeletons in this city were like that, leading them to not realize their current state was abnormal.

On the contrary, they thought their skeletal form was normal, while Su Yang’s appearance was abnormal.

So, when Su Yang asked about their flesh bodies, they simply didn’t understand what he meant; they didn’t even have the concept.
