Supreme Warrior in the City

Su Yang hadn’t expected that after all these years, the lights here could still be turned on.

However, upon closely examining the ceiling lights, Su Yang felt it was normal. Because these weren’t energy-consuming lights; they were gems, glowing gems.

Presumably, this switch was just the switch to reveal the gem. Once opened, the gem would be exposed, and naturally, the light would shine forth.

Turning his head to look around, Su Yang’s expression changed instantly.

There were over thirty skeletons in this room, all collapsed on the ground. Some were clinging to each other, some curled up alone on the floor, and others seemed to be struggling to crawl forward.

It was evident that the danger came suddenly; these people weren’t prepared when they died, hence the chaotic scene.

Su Yang couldn’t figure out why so many people had fallen in such a small room.

Luckily, these skeletons hadn’t awakened; they were completely dead.

Su Yang walked cautiously through the room, trying to find the Space Artifact of the Divine Master by the broken window.

In the end, after searching for a while, Su Yang found nothing. It seemed the Space Artifact wasn’t here.

Su Yang frowned, wondering if he had made a mistake?

While puzzled, Su Yang suddenly noticed something: there was a faint skeleton imprint on the floor in a section of the room.

The prints were the places where the dust hadn’t accumulated, as though a skeleton had once lay there. The dust had fallen on the skeleton instead of the ground, and later, when the skeleton left, it left this mark.

So, was there once a skeleton here that later left? Does this mean the skeletons in this room can resurrect?

Thinking of this, Su Yang immediately became alert, looking around to prevent being ambushed.

At the same time, Su Yang carefully examined the floor and noticed traces of something having fallen. It meant something indeed fell to the ground, creating such marks.

But now, it was no longer on the ground. Moreover, there were faint skeleton footprints on the ground.

Su Yang stared at these traces for a while and suddenly frowned: Could it be that a skeleton took the Space Artifact?

Considering the situation with the skeletons, it’s possible that these skeletons possess some level of consciousness, making it normal for them to take the Space Artifact.

But what would this skeleton do with the Space Artifact? Where would it take it?

Following the footprints, Su Yang passed through several rooms, finding skeletons scattered everywhere within them as well.

Finally, he reached the last room, where the skeleton footprints stopped at the end of a wall.

Standing there, Su Yang was a bit confused. The footprints ended there, but there was nothing there—where did the skeleton go?

With his curiosity piqued, Su Yang reached out to knock on the wall, and to his astonishment, found it was hollow.

Searching around, Su Yang indeed found a switch on the wall. He flipped the switch, and the wall opened, revealing a small room.

Su Yang stepped inside and discovered many buttons on the adjacent wall, all labeled with numbers. It felt like stepping into an elevator.

Su Yang was perplexed. This building was only five stories tall; did it really need an elevator? Moreover, the numbers went over a hundred—how could there be such a tall building?

After careful observation, Su Yang noted some marks on the number twenty-seven, suggesting a skeleton likely pressed it.

Su Yang pressed this number too, and immediately, the small room’s door closed. He clearly felt the room beginning to sink downward.

Su Yang’s eyes widened in surprise—was this really an elevator!?

And most importantly, the elevator was going down?

This building didn’t rise upward but extended downward, going down more than a hundred levels?

Su Yang was perplexed, having always wondered why the buildings in such a large city were so low.

Now, he finally understood.

It wasn’t that the buildings were low; the construction here was different from that in the Human World.

In the Human World, buildings are constructed above ground, whereas here, they are built downward, making the underground the focal point.

This building, which appeared to be five stories tall, had over a hundred levels underground—who would have thought!

Soon, the elevator stopped, and the display showed twenty-seven, meaning Su Yang had reached the twenty-seventh underground level.

The door opened, prompting Su Yang to heighten his alertness. The skeleton brought the Space Artifact down here, and who knew what the situation would be!

However, after the door opened, Su Yang found nothing special; it was empty outside as well.

Walking out, Su Yang discovered he seemed to be on a modern-looking street. Neon lights flickered, casting an urban glow, and a wide road stretched out not far before him.

On both sides of the road were various shops and houses, resembling the streets of the Human World.

Su Yang felt bewildered; was the city’s street really underground? Or was the whole city underground, and the exterior was just an entrance to below?

While walking, Su Yang quickly noticed many skeletons. However, they were immobile.

From a glance, it was hard to tell how many skeletons were there. It was like a bustling commercial street, but all the people had died, turning into skeletons.

After walking a bit, Su Yang finally heard some noise. Immediately, he dashed toward the sound, arriving at a spacious house five minutes later.

Outside the house, four or five skeletons were gathered—these were living entities.

The skeletons sat together, seemingly talking. Su Yang’s sudden appearance stunned them; they had no idea what was happening.

Su Yang didn’t give them time to think. He charged straight at them, releasing his power to pin the skeletons to the ground.

These skeletons weren’t particularly strong, at least not compared to Su Yang. In his presence, they couldn’t put up any resistance.

After searching the area near the skeletons, Su Yang didn’t find the Space Artifact. He frowned, grabbed one of the skeletons, and said in a deep voice, ”Where is the thing you brought down from above?”
