Supreme Warrior in the City

The white-bearded old man finished speaking and went straight back into the thatched hut, not giving Su Yang a chance to speak at all.

Seeing Su Yang’s expression, Mahakaya smiled and said lightly, ”Su Alliance Leader, let me see you out first.”

Su Yang followed Mahakaya, glanced at the thatched hut behind him, still finding it hard to accept, and couldn’t help but say, ”I... does this mean I’ve finished? Wasn’t it supposed to be a challenge? Is... is this considered a challenge?”

”To be able to walk to my senior brother’s side on that platform is considered passing the challenge,” said Mahakaya. ”If you can walk there, it means your aptitude is sufficient, so there’s no need to fight. If you can’t, then you would need a fight, or my senior brother could see where your shortcomings are and help you improve. Before this, Qi Zhishan was like that, his Dragon God Technique was not yet complete, and that’s the advice my senior brother gave him. As for you, since you could walk to my senior brother’s side, there’s nothing more my senior brother could teach you.”

”Ah?” Su Yang was dumbfounded, recalling how he had walked to the Martial Champion’s side, and said in astonishment, ”No way? I... I just got to his side by luck!”

Su Yang had walked over by following the direction of the sound, what kind of aptitude is that?

”No matter how you walked over, being able to walk over is your ability,” Mahakaya said lightly. ”Over the years, there have been many talents like you. But to be able to walk to my senior brother’s side, there have only been your father, Su Zhan, and you.”

”What about Ye Sword Saint?” Su Yang asked in surprise, as Ye Sword Saint’s aptitude was also good.

”He has already surpassed this stage,” said Mahakaya. ”He entered the Land Immortal Realm too early, but everyone has their own beliefs, and we can’t say they are wrong.”

”What beliefs?” Su Yang asked in surprise.

Mahakaya smiled faintly and did not explain.

Su Yang thought for a moment and said, ”What about the assassin? Shouldn’t he be able to do it?”

”The assassin has also surpassed this stage,” Mahakaya paused and said, ”His situation is different from Ye Sword Saint; the assassin no longer needs to walk this path.”

”What do you mean?” Su Yang asked in surprise.

”You will know in the future,” Mahakaya smiled faintly.

Su Yang was puzzled, thought for a while, and suddenly said, ”So what you’re saying is, it mainly depends on a person’s aptitude, so why wait until they reach this level of strength to challenge? Why not have many people go up and try it, and wouldn’t you know?”

Mahakaya glanced at Su Yang and didn’t speak.

In fact, after saying this, Su Yang himself also blushed, because he knew well that once someone walked onto that platform, it was like entering outer space. It wasn’t a place that ordinary people could casually step into, even the Black Widow, with her strength, would probably be frozen solid by the time she reached the Martial Champion’s position.

And now, Su Yang finally understood why you had to reach this level of strength to challenge the Martial Champion. Because it was only at this level of strength that you could truly walk to the Martial Champion’s side without dying in that void!

”What exactly is that thatched hut? And what is that platform about?” Su Yang couldn’t help but ask again.

”That thatched hut is a space my senior brother created himself. As for that platform...” Mahakaya smiled faintly, ”This, I can’t tell you for now.”

Su Yang was bewildered, so many secrets, and none could be told to him?

By now, the two had reached the entrance of the Zhang Family, and Mahakaya clasped his hands together, ”Su Alliance Leader, I’ll see you off here. Now that the Human World is peaceful again, it’s all thanks to Su Alliance Leader’s efforts. I thank Su Alliance Leader on behalf of all living beings. Additionally, I have an unworthy request!”

”Master Jie Ye, please speak!” Su Yang said quickly, respecting Mahakaya greatly.

Mahakaya sighed and said, ”I have three incompetent disciples whose whereabouts are unknown after this great chaos. If Su Alliance Leader happens to find them, please take care of them for me!”

Su Yang knew exactly who Mahakaya’s three disciples were and quickly said, ”Of course, Master Jie Ye can rest assured. I will send people out to find them as soon as I return.”

”Thank you so much, Su Alliance Leader!” Mahakaya immediately expressed his gratitude.

”No need for thanks, it’s something I should do.” Su Yang paused and said, ”By the way, Master Jie Ye, how long will you be staying here?”

”Me?” Mahakaya gave a bitter smile, ”I guess I’ll be staying here for the rest of my life.”

”Why?” Su Yang asked in surprise, as Mahakaya was from the Buddha Palace. Although the Buddha Palace was destroyed, the situation in the Human World had stabilized, so he should go back to reestablish the Buddha Palace.

”My cultivation is now less than a tenth of what it was. Even if I leave here, it would have no meaning,” Mahakaya sighed. ”For years, my senior brother and I were too estranged, and I never came here. Now I finally have some leisure, and with the Jade-faced Judge gone, I’ll just stay here to spend my remaining years.”

Su Yang then remembered that Mahakaya once exhausted his essence to fight the Divine Master. In the end, his essence was nearly depleted, and the Martial Champion saved him. So now, it was already not easy for Mahakaya to be alive. With his cultivation reduced by ninety percent, only the Martial Champion could save his life, and even if Su Yang gave him a Yaochi Peach, it wouldn’t do much good.

Sighing helplessly, Su Yang bade farewell to Mahakaya and left the Zhang Family first.

After leaving the Zhang Family, Su Yang headed straight for Qinghe Academy. The information he didn’t get from the Martial Champion, he wanted to ask the headmaster.

Upon reaching Qinghe Academy, the headmaster was waiting for him.

In fact, the headmaster had been standing on the top floor, watching the situation at the Zhang Family.

Seeing Su Yang’s return, the headmaster smiled slightly, ”You passed.”

Su Yang glanced in the direction of the Zhang Family, knowing the headmaster hadn’t seen any commotion from a fight with the Martial Champion, which was why he said that. In other words, the headmaster was very clear about these things.

”Headmaster, earlier, you said the Martial Champion had a different belief from you. What exactly was the difference?” Su Yang asked curiously.

The headmaster smiled and said softly, ”There’s nothing special, really; it’s just about whether the Human Clan or the other Eight Clans is more important.”

”Huh?” Su Yang was stunned, ”What do you mean? The Martial Champion thinks the other Eight Clans are more important?”

”That’s not quite it,” the headmaster shook his head, ”it’s mainly about whether all the sacrifices made to protect the Human Clan are worth it.”

”Why wouldn’t it be worth it? Is there even a difference in beliefs about this?” Su Yang was bewildered, ”That’s really not even a question!”
