Supreme Warrior in the City

The Divine Master reacted extremely quickly, rapidly turning around to counterattack the monk with a palm strike. The monk retreated a few steps, while the Divine Master remained steadfast.

Glancing at the monk, the Divine Master furrowed his brows tightly and said in a deep voice, ”Mahakaya, you’re actually here!”

This monk was indeed Mahakaya. At this moment, his entire body was glowing with golden light, resembling a descending Buddha Venerable, which was awe-inspiring.

Mahakaya clasped his hands together and calmly said, ”Amitabha Buddha, this humble monk has always been here and has never left.”

”Always been here?” The Divine Master said in a deep voice, ”Impossible, I’ve been here once before and moved the stone coffin from the Heavenly Realm. Why didn’t I see you then?”

”The humble monk’s duty is to guard these eight Boundary Points. You moved the stone coffin from the Heavenly Realm without intending to open it, so it naturally had nothing to do with me,” Mahakaya said softly. ”Moreover, the Heavenly Road is already open. Even if you break that stone coffin, the outcome would be the same. If you’re willing to shatter the Heavenly Road, even better, as the Heavenly Realm would be completely unable to step into the Human World, which could be a better thing for the Human World, wouldn’t it? But this time is different. You want to open the stone coffin of the Asura Realm, thus opening the Boundary Point of the Asura Realm. The Asura Clan is driven by slaughter. If they were to enter the Human World, it would face a calamitous disaster. It’s only natural that I cannot sit idly by!”

The Divine Master furrowed his brows even tighter and said in a deep voice, ”So you’re saying you intend to stop me?”

Mahakaya smiled faintly and said softly, ”If the Divine Master is willing to retreat now, this humble monk would naturally not dare to oppose the Divine Master!”

The Divine Master said coldly, ”Hmph, do you know what price you’ll have to pay to stop me?”

Mahakaya still smiled faintly and calmly said, ”In these two years, the Divine Master’s power has increased rapidly, much stronger than Qi Zhishan before. In the current Human World, you could easily rank in the top five. With such strength, it’s clear that I am no match for you. However, as a guardian of the Boundary Point, it is my duty, and I cannot yield in the slightest. So, I ask for the Divine Master’s understanding!”

”You’re courting death, why should I understand!” The Divine Master shouted coldly, ”I’ll give you one more chance. Leave immediately, and I might spare your life. Otherwise, today, you’ll not walk out of here alive!”

Mahakaya remained calm, saying, ”Amitabha Buddha, it is my duty, and I cannot retreat. I ask for the Divine Master’s understanding!”

”Seeking death!” The Divine Master roared in anger, stepping forward aggressively, a formidable surge of power rushing straight towards Mahakaya.

”Amitabha Buddha!” Mahakaya clasped his hands together, with a Buddha statue faintly appearing behind him, projecting ten thousand rays of golden light, as if a Buddha had descended, extraordinarily dazzling.

Under the golden light, the Divine Master’s power was completely dissolved before it even reached Mahakaya, not leaving a trace.

The Divine Master laughed instead of raged, saying coldly, ”Mahakaya, all these years and yet you’ve not improved your strength the slightest. With just this, you want to stop me? It’s sheer folly, like an ant trying to stop a carriage!”

As he spoke, several beams of light emerged around the Divine Master, directly attacking the golden Buddha statue behind Mahakaya. These beams collided with the statue’s golden light, reminiscent of ice meeting fire, hissing as the golden light was continually dissolved by the beams.

”If not me to Hell, then who?” Mahakaya smiled faintly, still clasping his hands without panicking over the weakening golden light.

”Hell is empty, and the devils are in the human world!” The Divine Master floated in mid-air, walking towards Mahakaya step by step, his voice like a devil’s from the Nine Nether: ”The people of this world are greedy, hypocritical, arrogant, violent, scheming against each other to the point of waging wars and killing countless kin. This so-called Human Clan is even more terrifying than devils! What about this Human World is worth your protection? You’ve cultivated arduously to this day, which is not easy, and yet you throw away your life for these insignificant and filthy mortals? Is it worth it?”

As the Divine Master advanced towards Mahakaya, the Buddha statue behind Mahakaya gradually shrank. Those beams of light continued dissolving the statue while Mahakaya himself seemed unable to withstand the Divine Master’s pressure, bending under the strain.

Even so, Mahakaya remained calm, forever clasping his hands and declared, ”The Human World’s faults are its own. Humanity naturally has both good and evil sides. You cannot only see its evil and miss its good. Not all creatures subscribe to the law of the jungle. Humans are distinct from animals because humans possess humanity. Why not, Divine Master, have more patience and see more of humanity’s goodness?”

”Hahaha...” The Divine Master laughed wildly, ”Humanity’s goodness? Ridiculous! In this Divine Master’s eyes, they’re just a lowly, humble race. What goodness is worth me witnessing?”

”If they’re merely a lowly, humble race, then why, Divine Master, do you only see humanity’s evil?” Mahakaya retorted.

”You...” The Divine Master was momentarily speechless, then furiously said, ”To this Divine Master, there’s no difference. Being just a lowly, humble race, this Divine Master would wipe them out without concern whether they’re good or evil!”

”Divine Master, have you forgotten, you yourself also emerged from the Human World,” Mahakaya calmly stated.

”Hehehe...” The Divine Master chuckled darkly, ”Indeed I emerged from the Human World, but do you truly think this Divine Master is of the Human Clan?”

Mahakaya was briefly startled, and at that moment, the Divine Master had nearly reached him. The immense pressure bent Mahakaya’s body to its limit.

”Kneel!” The Divine Master coldly ordered.

Mahakaya strained to hold his posture, saying, ”Amitabha Buddha, a disciple of the Buddhist Sect cannot kneel to demons!”

”Is that so? Then let’s see how strong you really are!” The Divine Master sneered, stepping forward again.

With just this step, Mahakaya’s legs made a cracking sound, his bones pressed to the extreme. He could relieve the pressure by kneeling, but refusing to do so meant any further advance by the Divine Master would outrightly break his leg bones.

Mahakaya continued to clasp his hands, his face serene, never intending to kneel, stubbornly standing firm.

”I see you’re courting death!” The Divine Master stepped forward once more.

With two cracking sounds, Mahakaya’s leg bones directly broke, protruding through his thighs, gruesomely exposed.

Yet Mahakaya remained upright, accepting greater pain in his legs but showing no sign of retreat.
