Supreme Warrior in the City

Standing in this void for a moment, Su Yang simply closed his eyes. He silently recalled the direction he stepped onto the platform, and the position of the Martial Champion on the platform. Then, he tentatively stepped forward.

Here he couldn’t find any direction, and could only rely on the memories in his heart to make judgments and search.

After taking three consecutive steps, Su Yang only felt that the surroundings were getting colder. However, this didn’t have much impact on him. But the crucial problem was that he had no idea if he was in the correct position. In such circumstances, how could he find the Martial Champion?

Outside, the white-bearded elder and Mahakaya saw everything clearly. Su Yang’s three steps were chaotic, and he didn’t walk in the direction of the Martial Champion at all.

The two exchanged glances, both faces showing a bit of helplessness. The white-bearded elder sighed and shook his head, seeming somewhat disappointed with Su Yang.

Su Yang was unaware of what was happening outside, nor did he know if he was moving correctly. In fact, at this moment, he suddenly heard some strange sounds in his ears.

The sound was heard when Su Yang took his third step. He originally intended to take more steps, but upon hearing this sound, he immediately stopped.

The sound was very peculiar, like some monsters roaring, or like some powerful creatures bellowing. This feeling was reminiscent of the sounds of fierce beasts he had encountered when he fell into the Rongshi Furnace Valley before.

Su Yang didn’t understand what the sound was about; why would such fierce beasts appear on this platform?

With doubt, Su Yang immediately opened his eyes. However, he couldn’t see anything, only hear the strange sound.

After pondering for a while, Su Yang suddenly moved again. This time, he had a goal, or rather, a direction, and he walked towards the direction from which the sound was coming.

He didn’t know what this sound was about, but there was no doubt, hearing sounds in such a place was quite a miraculous event in itself. Since Su Yang couldn’t find the Martial Champion, he decided to go and see where the sounds were coming from.

Su Yang never thought he could defeat the Martial Champion, but at the very least, he had to figure out what was going on in this void, and what the sounds were about.

At this moment, the white-bearded elder and Mahakaya were stunned. Because they could clearly see that after Su Yang’s chaotic three steps, he directly chose the right direction and walked straight towards the Martial Champion.

This situation was completely unexpected for them. They thought Su Yang was already impossible to succeed, but unexpectedly, he had found the direction in the end. What was happening?

The two exchanged another glance, and this time, both saw the shock in each other’s eyes. To be honest, such a situation was difficult for them to imagine!

The Martial Champion’s eyes also showed some surprise, but soon he smiled, with a hint of gratification in his expression.

Su Yang walked step by step towards the direction of the sound, not knowing how long he walked. Gradually, a white spot appeared in front of his eyes. As his distance grew farther, this white spot became larger and larger. Eventually, the white spot turned into a huge round disc, suspended in the air, a beam of white light descending from within it, shining right on Su Yang.

Su Yang’s heart stirred, and he couldn’t help but remember the beam of light on the platform earlier; could it be from this round disc?

Just as Su Yang was surprised, suddenly a voice came from his side: ”Su Alliance Leader, you’ve passed the challenge!”

After the voice finished, without giving Su Yang time to carefully observe the round disc, his body involuntarily flew up and quickly plunged downward.

Su Yang was taken aback, hurriedly exerting effort to hold himself, but it was all in vain. After a while, his feet suddenly stepped onto the ground, and the surrounding scene quickly changed, returning him to the palace.

Looking around once more, everything was just as before, nothing particularly special. Only the white-bearded elder and Mahakaya had a hint of shock and infinite joy in their eyes as they looked at him.

Su Yang was greatly puzzled, not knowing what these people meant, himself feeling completely bewildered.

”Is it... is it over?” Su Yang asked in surprise.

”It’s over.” The Martial Champion said calmly, ”And quite successfully!”

”Successfully?” Su Yang was even more bewildered. He had merely walked around on the platform—how was that a success? And, what kind of challenge was this?

”You have completed the challenge left by senior brother, which is the most crucial part,” Mahakaya explained on the side, ”You don’t have to fight senior brother. Previously, Qi Zhishan didn’t pass the challenge, so he fought senior brother. Since you passed, you don’t need to fight.”

”Ah?” Su Yang was even more astounded; what did this mean?

”The Su Family indeed holds hidden dragons and crouching tigers!” The Martial Champion remarked softly, ”In my two hundred plus years here, only two people have passed the challenge. One is you, and the other was your father, Su Zhan. Unfortunately, Su Zhan is no longer here. However, you reaching this step also leaves me gratified!”

”What... what does this mean?” Su Yang couldn’t help but ask.

The Martial Champion gently smiled, ”These matters, someone will explain to you later, so you don’t need to worry too much. Remember, the world’s issues are not as simple as you imagine. The Human World, even the Nine Realms’ crisis, isn’t just what you see. The real crisis in the world, you simply don’t understand—that’s the most terrifying!”

Su Yang was full of confusion. What did the Martial Champion mean by these words? Crisis in the Human World, crisis in the Nine Realms? He knew the Human World faced a crisis, but what crisis did the Nine Realms have?

Also, what did he mean by the crises not counting as what he’d seen? What actually are the real crises?

”Let’s call it a day.” The Martial Champion turned around, continuing to stand with his hands behind his back, speaking softly, ”I hope you can come sooner.”

Su Yang didn’t understand what the Martial Champion meant, but at this time, the white-bearded elder and Mahakaya had already come over.

”Su Alliance Leader, let’s go.” Mahakaya smiled, ”Senior brother needs to retreat.”

Su Yang glanced at the Martial Champion inside, his back facing everyone, appearing truly as if he was meditating. Ultimately, Su Yang said nothing more, following the two people out of the thatched hut.

Leaving the thatched hut, the white-bearded elder directly cupped his hands towards Su Yang, earnestly saying, ”Su Alliance Leader, we hope you enhance your power as soon as possible!”

Su Yang was full of confusion; what kind of words were these? Whether or not I should enhance my power—is that really your concern? Moreover, what kind of talk is this?
