Extraordinary Realm from Persuasion System

Zhang Beixing.

A foreigner from the distant East. It was only his second day in Ancient Rome, yet he was already an undeniable person of interest. This was because Zhang Beixing was incredibly adept at stirring up trouble. Since disembarking from the plane, he hadn’t been still for a moment. Taunting Black Ghost, a massacre in a bar. And now, he had even appeared before the D&E laboratory, located in the tallest building in Ancient Rome. How could people not pay attention to him?

What is he planning to do, attack the D&E laboratory? Watching Zhang Beixing approach, armed and exuding a menacing aura, the Brotherhood’s godfather furrowed his brow, muttering to himself. The bar massacre last night had cost him a night of sleep. Consequently, he had spent the night investigating Zhang Beixing’s background, thoroughly familiarizing himself with the man. He considered such an event entirely possible.

The animosity between Zhang Beixing and the D&E laboratory ran too deep. So deep, in fact, that any direct confrontation was bound to be a fight to the death. This hadn’t been apparent before because they had never faced each other head-on. But now that Zhang Beixing had taken the initiative to come to them, this affair clearly wouldn’t end well.

With this thought, a flicker of anticipation ignited in the Brotherhood godfather’s heart. He sat up straighter, his eyes fixed unblinkingly on the screen. Just moments ago, he’d been lamenting the lack of a suitable way to deal with Zhang Beixing; now, unexpectedly, Zhang Beixing had delivered himself right to their doorstep. Although Zhang Beixing was confronting the D&E laboratory and not him directly, it was of little consequence.

The outcome would be the same. Zhang Beixing would undoubtedly be defeated!

There was no denying Zhang Beixing’s strength. But the D&E laboratory stationed in Ancient Rome was no pushover. They had developed their influence to such an extent that they could establish a conspicuous high-rise in the city center, conducting clandestine activities and mysterious experiments within its walls, unknown to outsiders. This wasn’t merely because powerful backers supported the laboratory; more importantly, the laboratory itself possessed formidable strength. Their security forces were rumored to be capable of rivaling the Roman city guard! Otherwise, it would have been devoured by the other factions in Ancient Rome long ago. Zhang Beixing wouldn’t even have stood a chance, and none of these complications would have arisen.

The Brotherhood’s godfather was not optimistic about Zhang Beixing’s chances. Holding the contrary view was the godfather of Golden Wind.

In a private villa in Maro, sunlight streamed through a window, illuminating a piano. The ivory piano shimmered with a soft glow in the light. The middle-aged man who had previously spoken with Zhang Beixing approached a table near the piano. He gently placed a cup of tea on it and, looking at the figure whose back was turned to him, said, ”Please, have some tea.”

At his words, the chair swiveled around. A black suit adorned with a maple leaf insignia came into view. Above the suit, one could see long golden hair plaited into braids that hung down his back, and a young face that still retained a touch of youthful innocence. He looked to be barely in his early twenties, yet no one dared to underestimate him. For this was Kaiser Joestar, the illegitimate son of the former godfather. He was the current godfather, having joined the gang at fifteen through his own capabilities. He had risen from the lowest ranks, step by step, bringing increasing stability to Golden Wind and earning the sincere allegiance of all the gang’s elders.

”Thank you.” Kaiser picked up the teacup from the table, took a light sip, and then addressed the man before him. Savoring the rich aroma of the tea as it lingered on his palate, Kaiser looked at the man. ”Bruno,” he asked, ”what are your thoughts on this matter?”

He was, of course, referring to Zhang Beixing going alone to the D&E laboratory.

Hearing Kaiser’s question, Bruno pondered for a moment before replying, ”Godfather, forgive my foolishness, but I feel that Mr. Zhang’s chances are slim in this situation.”

”Chances are slim...” Kaiser mused over Bruno’s response, a wry smile playing on his lips as he shook his head. ”It seems you still don’t have much confidence in the wager I’ve made.”

Bruno’s expression changed abruptly at these words. ”I apologize, Godfather,” he said hastily, ”I only...”

Before he could finish his apology, Kaiser raised a hand, silencing him. ”That’s enough, Bruno. I’m not blaming you. You have limited information, so it’s understandable that you’re not optimistic about Zhang Beixing. You are the one I trust most. Just stay here with me and observe. If you keep watching, you’ll understand why I chose him to be the one to break this deadlock for us.”

Hearing this, Bruno visibly relaxed, breathing a sigh of relief. He nodded, then stood silently beside Kaiser, his gaze fixed on the screen.

The Mafia was already aware of Zhang Beixing’s situation, so naturally, the Ancient Rome police couldn’t have remained ignorant. Especially since Zhang Beixing was the prime suspect in last night’s bar massacre. Although the police had eventually withdrawn their forces, their monitoring and surveillance of Zhang Beixing had never ceased for a moment. Therefore, upon learning of Zhang Beixing’s current actions, the Ancient Rome police department assigned the matter high priority.

”What is he thinking? Does he intend to declare war on the D&E laboratory?”

”That damned Great Xia person! Wasn’t the colossal mess he made last night enough? Does he really have to turn our Maro completely upside down before he’s satisfied?”

”Chief, I request permission to go and apprehend him! We can’t allow him to cause any more disturbances!”

In the chief’s office of the Ancient Rome police station.
