Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 3497 - Suishen Ranxing’s Ambition

Suishen Ranxing’s gaze fell on the valley lord and his ilk. He appeared to glow with divine power and had a steady look to him. Even though the valley lord hadn’t advanced beyond the Foundation stage, he no longer took anyone else seriously, including House Yumo and House Suishen. It had been like that since the very beginning.

”There’s something odd about his aura, but I can’t quite figure it out,” the old patriarch said, furrowing his brows.

”It’s as if his super-zenith cosmoforce has something else mixed in it, but I don’t know what....” Suishen Ranxing stared for a good, long while.

”This is the first time he’s made an appearance since returning from the Yin-Yang World, right?”

”That’s right. Perhaps that has something to do with it. This might be a trace of some kind of formation core. He’s obtained something that might’ve made him stronger,” Suishen Ranxing whispered.

”Do you feel any pressure?” the old patriarch asked.

Suishen Ranxing shook his head. ”I’m only guessing that he’s stronger than before, but it seems weird to me so I can’t be sure. Dad, you’re more familiar with the Grand Myriadpath Ruins. How long would it take for a vessel with a maximum speed of the Grand Myriadpath Ruins to reach Myriadpath Valley from the Yin-Yang World?”

”It wouldn’t take long. However, the valley lord might’ve already taken what truly matters.”

”At the very least, we won’t have to face the threat of a fortuna-class ship before it comes, then.”

”We might not be able to tell exactly how long the trip would exactly take, but it’s definitely way longer than the time it’d take you to step over there,” the old patriarch said with excitement in his eyes. ”I didn’t think that among you, Qitian Muyu, and Yumo Diyan, you’d be the first one to edge toward the super zenith!

”Son, you’ve taken the most important step in your life. It’s a step that’ll change the fate of House Suishen! What you need to do next is to focus on advancing and let go of everything else. Focus only on reaching the pinnacle of the Foundation stage!”

”The pinnacle....” Suishen Ranxing’s eyes blazed like two flaming stars. He tightly clenched his fists, feeling the emotional turmoil that brewed within him. Over the past years, House Suishen had been ranked third and ceaselessly mocked. The failures he had experienced on the path of growth were things that he wouldn’t be able to forget.

On top of that, many other things weighed upon him, such as the rift between him and his siblings and being made to kneel after his wife returned to him. He kept it all bottled up, not wanting to let his father down! The weight of all that pressure on him had, ironically, allowed him to transcend himself and touch upon the next step toward the super zenith.

Even if it was only the start, it already made him much stronger than Qitian Muyu and Yumo Diyan! Who would have guessed that he, among the three of them, the one who didn’t stand out at all, would be the first one to take that step? Only his father knew about the rage that burned within him!

There were far too many others within House Suishen that were dissatisfied with him, forcing him to deal with internal troubles on top of external threats! When he suppressed the rage he felt from all that and went into the depths of the Yin-Yang World’s storm to train for decades, he had finally achieved his current result.

Everyone in the Yin-Yang World was looking for treasure or people, but he alone used its storms to train and cultivate. Eventually, he had finally succeeded in taking that step. Who knew that I’d become the next super-zenith foundationeer?! House Suishen hasn’t had valley lords for a few generations. It should be our turn next!

Suishen Ranxing looked at the Myriadpath Sourcespring and felt his ambition rise at the thought of the Source Progenitor. House Qitian... House Yumo... and Suishen Hongtian, Xiyue, and Jiguang.... Those were the ones that stood against him. He could only dream of making them submit!

Myriadpath Valley’s already in chaos. We still don’t know who will emerge on top as the central emperor. His blazing gaze fell on the valley lord. ”If I reach the super zenith, can I defeat him?”

”He’s been at his peak for too long. He’s old now. It’s only a matter of time before you take him down, just like he did to his own master. It’s a universal law that nobody can resist!” The old patriarch seemed completely confident in his assertion.

”He must have everything he got from the Yin-Yang World with him. But he also happens to be the only valley lord in the history of Myriadpath Valley to not control the Grand Myriadpath Ruins.

”We must eliminate him before the fortuna-class astralship arrives if I’m to rise to become the next valley lord! I’ll take everything he got from the Yin-Yang World! House Qitian might think they’re on top of the world for now, but at the very end, they’ll end up falling below House Suishen....” If anyone heard his ambitions, they would think him a madman.

”That’s why we must hold steady! Drag things out for as long as we can. We can’t end up like House Yumo. They can’t turn back any longer, but we have plenty of options available to us,” the old patriarch said.

Suishen Hongtian had no idea what House Suishen was waiting for, thinking that if they didn’t submit to House Qitian soon, they would end up on the valley lord’s bad side. Little did he know that his father and younger brother’s plans were much more ambitious than anything he could conjure up. They hadn’t told him a single word, however, trusting him less than they did Suishen Jiguang.

House Suishen had to hold firm no matter what. No matter how tough things get, they had to endure and not take any action that didn’t involve protecting themselves. It was the only way for them to rise to the top. Otherwise, the old patriarch wouldn’t have knelt before his daughter-in-law and begged her to make the decision to preserve the might of House Suishen.

”Suishen Xiyue and Suishen Jiguang’s might will be really important to us. Once you show your brother that you’ve almost achieved the super zenith, you should be able to convince him, too. That way, we and House Yumo combined will be able to push back against House Qitian!” The old patriarch greatly anticipated it.

”Those three?” Suishen Ranxing coldly smirked. He didn’t really hold much hope for them, but he wouldn’t mind using them if he could.

”I asked you to make up with your wife to ensure that she’ll come to our aid at our time of need. Did you do any of that?”

”No.”

”You.... Sigh, you’ve already knelt to her. What use is your sense of pride? When you finally succeed, even if she’s achieved the major zenith, she won’t be able to touch you! How can you become the valley lord if you can’t even persuade a woman? How can you become the ruler of the empire at the center of the astralscape? Not to mention, nobody but her is a good match for you....”

The old patriarch sighed, ”Who doesn’t make mistakes in life? It’s already a thing of the past. Your children have grown. By now, the two of you have bonds that can’t be broken. The fact that she hasn’t told the children about what you did is a sign that she still cares for this family. At the end of the day, human relations can be simplified to the oppressor and the oppressed. It’s just the way of things. All you have to do is to treat her better when you take over and, in time, she’ll begin to forgive you.”

”Really?” Suishen Ranxing smirked. ”You’re making me see the light. You’re right. If I can’t even convince her, how can I rule the universe?” The path of domination was trod by stomping everything beneath one’s feet!
