Beastmaster of the Ages

Fusing with the Primordial Chaos Beasts was yet another talent, much like how Tianming could share the benefits of Trisoul Prime and Aeonic Grandbane with his beasts. By fusing into one being, they might be able to surpass their innate limits!

”Alright, get out of my body. Don’t stick to me for no good reason,” he said with a smile.

”I was thinking that maybe we should find a proper time to make our debut so we can remove the stigma of a tainted beastmaster from you,” Ying Huo said.

”It’s something to consider....” The first thing Tianming had to do was return to the Infinitum Mundus. But before that, he had to go back to the Ascension Colosseum and spend some time there.

”My ancestral order greatly improved thanks to the ancestral idol. Coupled with your unlocked bloodline chains, let’s see if we can manifest my eighth cosmic chart. If it works, perhaps we can even fight the foundationeers in the Fortuna Ranking!”

Tianming calmed down his blazing heart and focused on manifesting his eighth cosmic chart. ”The more cosmic charts I have, the more powerful my orders have to be. Every single breakthrough will be much harder than the one before!”

That was why, even though his orders had improved, he wasn’t confident in being able to make a breakthrough. It was much harder than he thought when he actually got down to it. He had broken through quite a lot in the recent past, so he still felt a little hollow as he’d used the benefits of the ancient idols for his breakthroughs. After trying for a while, he still felt like he couldn’t manifest his eighth cosmic chart and chose to give up.

”There’s no rush. Let’s take a break for now. I have to stabilize myself at the upper Myriadpath Grand Ruins and the Suishen Ancestral Hall.” Even though he wasn’t able to make an immediate breakthrough, he could feel that he was only a tiny bit off. Since he didn’t have to desperately get stronger to overcome any specific obstacles, he decided to relax.

”Even without breaking through, I’m already a level stronger than when I defeated Huang Daosheng. Ying Huo and the rest can also fight while fused to me. I should be invincible against anyone below the Foundation stage, right? I think I can even handle twelfth-level cosmic cartographers from the Three Exalted Houses.” There were eighteen foundationeers on the Fortuna Ranking from the Three Exalted Houses.

”I should spend some time to get to nineteenth place then. That’s when I’ll announce that I’m not a tainted beastmaster!” He wanted to challenge the ranking once more before returning, because he didn’t want anyone to secretly badmouth him for being a tainted beastmaster any more.

Not to mention, he would be gone for at least a month, so getting a higher rank and letting the multiplied daily stipend gather would net him a decent amount of merit points and springwater. He didn’t want to waste one bit of it.

When he had made up his mind, he used a transmission stone to tell Suishen Zhao his plans. He sounded rather supportive and immediately got Fen Nu to escort the two of them to the Ascension Colosseum. He also told Suishen Yao about it and she immediately said that she would come over to watch.

”Alright. I’ll get into the top twenty, claim some springwater, and leave.” Tianming made up his mind just like that.

When the two minor pathkeepers showed up at the Ascension Colosseum, things got rowdy again.

”Pathkeeper Li!”

”It’s Li Tianming again!”

”He broke through after defeating Huang Daosheng. I knew he’d be coming again.”

”I wonder what rank he’s shooting for this time.”

As the hottest topic in Myriadpath Valley, Tianming immediately caused many fortuna disciples to stop fighting and move to the audience seats. He was currently ranked forty-fifth. Those in the top hundred could only progress ten ranks at a time, so Tianming needed to face at least two opponents to make it to the top twenty.

He quickly issued a challenge to someone in the thirties. Most of them were from House Suishen, and the reason he did that was that they wouldn’t refuse his challenge with Suishen Zhao around. All he needed was a stepping stone. It didn’t matter if he picked a Suishen, though, since even if he hadn’t, their rank would fall by one if Tianming defeated someone from a different house anyway.

Instead, becoming a stepping stone for someone so famous was an honor. Tianming was a minor pathkeeper that had an even higher status than the ones challenged despite bearing a different surname. As such, the geniuses of House Suishen felt a little mixed about him and wouldn’t mind getting a chance to prove themselves while fighting Tianming either.

It didn’t take long before the challenge was accepted. At that point in time, Ying Huo and the rest were still fused with Tianming. Since the opponent was rather average, Tianming didn’t let them out. Not even Suishen Zhao knew yet. They had just arrived at the colosseum, so it wasn’t that packed yet.

His first opponent was a twelfth-level cosmic cartographer of House Suishen, an entire level stronger than the late Huang Daosheng. Tianming didn’t hold back to save time and immediately defeated his opponent to enter the top forty. The fast battle caused quite a lot of people to draw breaths of awe. Once more, the red-and-black name rose higher in the Fortuna Ranking.

”Bravo!” Suishen Zhao kept applauding nonstop. Eminent Jiguang and Suishen Yao had also just arrived as Tianming happened to be picking out his new opponent.

Suishen Yao put her hands against her waist and pulled on Tianming’s face. ”Why haven’t you left for home yet?”

”I plan to squeeze myself higher up in the ranking. I’ll be gone for a month, so that’s quite a lot of merit points and springwater I’m leaving on the table,” Tianming honestly answered.

”You money freak! You already have so much, yet you still want that petty amount of merit?” Suishen Yao was quite speechless.

”Once I get in the top twenty, I’ll go claim some of my springwater. I also have a surprise to show you later,” Tianming said.

”A surprise?” Suishen Yao didn’t expect that. She hadn’t received any surprises all her life growing up. She angrily glared at him and said, ”As long as it isn’t shocking.”

”You have a surprise for my sister?” Suishen Zhao’s ears twitched when he heard that. He hurriedly picked out another opponent for Tianming, calling out three Suishen disciples who ranked in the twenties for him to choose from. He casually picked one of them and prepared for the second fight.

After this fight, he would have to challenge to be in the top twenty. There were only two potential opponents that ranked nineteenth and twentieth respectively. They were just a hair away from becoming foundationeers. Once they broke through, they even had a chance of making it into the top ten. In terms of talent, they scored pretty high, but they were weaker when it came to cultivation level. The degree of their talent was incredibly close to that of minor pathkeepers.
