Beastmaster of the Ages

When the silver egg descended, Tianming saw the earth beneath it crack and sink before it could even touch the ground. One could imagine its mass, density, and hardiness.

”Why don’t... you come... over? If... you’re my... brother, you’ll... come over... and hit... me me!” Yin Chen’s mechanical, yet pretentious voice sounded even louder and more forceful than Lan Huang. Of course, it would sound more terrifying if not for its speech impediment.

”Are you sure?” Tianming pulled out the fortuna-class Grand-Orient Sword. Although he had withdrawn the decapath era godswords, the sword was still powerful on its own.

”Trash! You’re... so longwinded!” Yin Chen mocked. ”What—”

Tianming couldn’t put up with Yin Chen’s pretentiousness any longer. Grand-Orient Sword in both hands, he charged toward the silver egg, appearing in front of it in just a split second. Without a word, he slashed with omnisentient power. A sharp, jarring noise rang out. Even with Ying Huo and Meow Meow for arms, he felt numb from the force of impact. The noise from the mighty sword grinding against metal and bouncing off almost made him vomit his guts out.

Not only was Yin Chen’s body glossy, it was also unimaginably hard. Without the decapath era godswords, Tianming’s fortuna-class cosmic artifact couldn’t damage it.

”This guy was already immortal, but now he’s even more impossible to kill!” Tianming looked down and found to his surprise that the sword failed to leave any marks on the silver egg.

“What kind of monster are you?!” Tianming was stunned.

The bright light radiating from the egg was due to the combination of innumerable astrons that had been compressed a hundred billion times!

”Heh heh... Is that... all the... ruler of...the Sun... can do?”

Tianming was still overjoyed for Yin Chen, but upon hearing its provocative words, his vision went red. Dammit, the bastard’s showing off again!

”So you can take a beating. What else can you do?” Tianming said.

”Haha... open your... eyes and... watch watch!”

Yin Chen gave a scornful smile, then, began transforming right before Tianming’s eyes. The egg was in fact its original form, so it could still turn into insects even if it had been compressed a hundred billion times. The silver egg transformed into a two-meter-long praying mantis in no time at all.

Its body was steely, yet sharp, and its contours were silvery smooth. Its triangular head was cold and hard, and its long legs were covered in sharp spines. Most terrifying of all were its two front legs, which were deadly serrated blades formed from countless metal veins, cosmic artifacts, and astralships.

Tianming was astonished.

”Take this!” Although Yin Chen didn’t have any complicated moves, its speed was a nightmare. It was fast, precise, and ruthless!

Tianming had yet to recover from the shock. Yin Chen’s move forced him to activate the grand lexicon wonder and raise his sword. Despite resisting with all his cosmoforce, omnisentient power, and the strength of his lifebound beasts, Tianming, who had the strength of a foundationeer, was still smacked aside, proving just how strong Yin Chen’s move was. Of course, Yin Chen also possessed part of his omnisentient power, so its attack wouldn’t be as powerful on its own. But it was still frightening!

That was just one aspect of Yin Chen’s transformation. A moment later, it split into spiders, centipedes, bonegnaw ants, butterflies, galactic swordbugs, jellyfish, eight-starred ladybugs, and dozens of other forms, each with different abilities. After being on the receiving end of its attacks, Tianming and his other lifebound beasts had to admit it was a monster.

”Stop! Stop!” Tianming had yet to fully recover. He wouldn’t be able to get up if Yin Chen continued torturing him.

”Are you... scared now?” Turning into a large silver cockroach, Yin Chen laughed out loud with its legs on its torso and a smug look on its face.

”Yes, you’re so powerful!” Tianming gasped for breath. Although he seemed to have been suppressed by Yin Chen, he was actually overjoyed. If his lifebound beast grew stronger, wouldn’t that make him stronger as well?

“Even without omnisentient power, its newly fused body possesses the strength of a sixth-level cosmic cartographer. It’ll still be a powerful killing machine anywhere else!”

A hundred billion merged into one! The Primordial Chaos Beasts were indeed incredible.

Ying Huo and the others would be just as strong if they had successfully evolved. What a pity! Tianming thought.

”Evolution takes time! If we didn’t fuse with you and evolved separately like Yin Chen instead, you’d have lost your chastity to that Demoness!” Ying Huo retorted.

”That’s true!”

Oftentimes, it was hard to judge if something was a blessing or a curse.

”Yin Chen, Yin Chen!” Waving at the dazzling Yin Chen, Tianming asked, ”Can you still merge all of your bodies once you reach a trillion of them?”

”Of course... I can... but it’ll... take more... time time!” Yin Chen replied.

A trillion! Tianming’s eyes lit up. ”Wouldn’t that make you invincible?” he asked.

”No way... If it’s... destroyed, all... my existing... bodies will... be gone... and I’ll.... have to... start from... scratch scratch!” Yin Chen said.

”What?”

If Yin Chen were shattered after merging its existing bodies, all of them would be destroyed and it would have to begin all over again. How was he to find so many metal veins?!

”The combat power of a single unit has increased, but its monitoring range is now limited. And there’s a chance of complete loss.” Tianming understood.

In fact, there wasn’t much difference between merging nine hundred billion and a trillion Yin Chen. As long as a hundred billion of its bodies remained, Yin Chen would never die. A hundred billion bodies would be enough as backup on Ebonia and the Sun. Yin Chen could still monitor everything after splitting twice.

”It’s already so hard but Yin Chen can still compress up to nine or ten times. There really aren’t many people that can knock it down!” Ordinary attacks were nothing to Yin Chen in its fused form. What it was vulnerable to was instant destruction, which was even harder to do than killing Tianming.

After testing Yin Chen’s newly acquired combat power, Tianming could only say that the cows had finally come home. ”Finish the metal veins on the Sun and I’ll take you to Ebonia. Anyway, let’s get up to a trillion of you first,” he said.

”Okay.”
