Beastmaster of the Ages

Tianming and Moran furrowed their brows at the same time. All of a sudden, the puddle of water that they had imprisoned using their divine wonders vanished! ”The stealth of the ruler of the godshades is unbelievable!”

In the next instant, Demoness Yin appeared at a different location. ”Be a good boy and wait for me inside. I’ll come spoil you with my love.”

She seductively smiled, then the bloody needle in her hand turned into a gigantic blood-colored pillar and continued drilling into the back of the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb, greatly compromising its divine astralship formation. Cracks began forming in it, causing the entire ship to rumble like a wounded dragon. Terror began setting in on those who were on board. If Demoness Yin made her way inside, the other elites from Intrepidus—the five foundationeers in particular—could come in and end things.

”We have to stop Demoness Yin!” Xiaodao barked. Seeing that even Tianming and Moran’s divine wonders were unable to stop her, he made his decision. ”I’ll go out and force her to leave!”

Tianming shook his head. ”If we do that, you won’t be able to leave!”

”It’s better than all of us failing to leave.” Xiaodao shot him a burning gaze and held his shoulders tight. ”Feng’er, the Starshatter Formation still requires more than two days to be completed. As long as you live and the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb is intact, we’ll have hope! Our attempted attack failed, and we have to pay the price for it. You aren’t a kid anymore, so don’t hesitate when it comes to making sacrifices. There’s no free lunch in this world.”

”No, what I’m trying to say is that my godfather and I have a better idea than letting you go out to sacrifice yourself.”

”What is it?”

”My godfather is almost here. He plans to use the same trick he used against Meng Ying: trapping Demoness Yin within the Flameyellow Coffin. You can enter the coffin and gang up on her together with him. And if it doesn’t work, just eject her from the coffin. At the very least, it’ll buy us time and the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb will be free from her attack.”

”The Flameyellow Coffin?” Xiaodao nodded. Surely, the coffin would have better odds of keeping her trapped compared to divine wonders. Not to mention, Xiaodao was armed with the Xiao Nu Gourd and Primordial Demonshade and would be fighting Demoness Yin with Wudi. ”Alright, I’ll try it out with Brother Wudi.”

Tianming didn’t say another word and quickly made preparations. ”Godfather’s here! Go out and draw Demoness Yin away!”

”Okay!” Thousands of flameyellow fiends approached the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb. The ship and the coffin, both relics left behind by the flameyellow divinities, joined up with each other within the burning pink star.

Within the coffin, Wudi was piloting the Thousand Foundation Divine Puppet that stood a few meters tall. An ancient aura emanated from it as it pulsed with the power of Flameyellow Bloodsoul.

Xiaodao charged out of the ship on his gourd. Thanks to the flameyellow fiends paving a way for him, he managed to reach Demoness Yin. Tianming and Moran changed the target of their divine wonders to the other elites from Intrepidus that were attached to the ship.

”Big Sis! Someone came out with a death wish! It should be Lin Xiaodao!”

”He’s that daredevil that stole Mister Taihe’s Primordial Demonshade!”

”What a foolish animal!”

The elites from Intrepidus immediately recognized him, the sole foundationeer on the side of the Sun.

Demoness Yin smiled. ”Get rid of him and help Mister Taihe reclaim his Primordial Demonshade.”

”Yes!” They happily accepted the order. But just as they turned their attention toward Xiaodao, the three divine wonders worked their magic! With the heat from the Sun and the speed the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb was traveling at, the enemies were just barely hanging onto the ship. The subsequent attacks and illusions of those divine wonders caused them to lose Xiaodao’s location right away as they fell into chaos.

”Are they trying to take my head?” Demoness Yin smirked at the thought.

Right then, Xiaodao appeared right before her with the ink-green gourd in his left hand and the Primordial Demonshade in his right. His six lifebound beasts had adopted their swordbeast spiritforms and entered the sword, allowing their abilities to be directly used with Xiaoado’s sword strikes and greatly enhancing his combat prowess. The fortuna-class artifact became even stronger; Meng Ying and Shenxi Xingtian wouldn’t be able to hold a candle to him now.

”You think you’re able to take me on alone?” The puddle that was Demoness Yin congealed into a petite, womanly form and smiled at him.

”Is there anything wrong with that?” Xiaodao said, his hair unkempt.

”You look rather decent. A shame that you’re a bit old for my tastes. Big Sister here likes them young, you see.”

”You simply don’t get it. I’m a popular model. They call me Uncle Melancholy. I didn’t think that someone like you, Auntie Flirt, wouldn’t know my type well.”

”Who said I didn’t know your type? I know it so well that you disgust me to the point that I want to tear you to pieces,” Demoness Yin snapped.

”Well? What’re you waiting for? I’d like to see you try!” Xiaodao sneered.

Both of them clashed when it came to looks, values, and philosophies. They were such a horrible match that it could never work out between them. Being provoked like that considerably tested Demoness Yin’s patience. What was worse was how Xiaodao didn’t even wait for her and immediately attacked with both his cosmic artifacts. He used the swordbeasts’ abilities to pave a way for his Xiao Nu Gourd’s thick green smoke, creating a storm that shot toward Demoness Yin!

Demoness Yin kept on trying to breach the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb while Xiaodao harassed her. The cosmic impulse inside the Primordial Demonshade surged, forming a black sword projection that completely neutralized the suppression of Demoness Yin’s order, allowing Xiaodao to directly strike the puddle! The puddle blasted apart with such force that the blood-colored needle was shaken free of the ship!

”Oh, you’re so dead!” The puddle reformed into Demoness Yin’s appearance. She seemed completely livid. Xiaodao was stronger than she had expected; she wouldn’t be able to focus on breaching the Ninedragon Imperial Tomb with him around.

In a fit of rage, she changed her target to him. Taking him down would be the same as taking out half the Sun’s forces, given that he was its sole foundationeer. She turned into a thread that looped through her bloody needle and began stabbing at Xiaodao.

”Whoa!” Xiaodao immediately escaped into the Xiao Nu Gourd. Then Demoness Yin’s boundless foundation fortress laid on the pressure against Xiaodao’s fortress of death sword ki! Countless bloody threads spread out like snakes, closing in toward the gourd from all directions.
