Beastmaster of the Ages

”These animals aren’t showing a shred of mercy! They want to wipe out ebonkind from the Infinitum Mundus for good! We’ll fall to the lowest rung of races in the astralscape! Dad! Where are you? Dad! They found me!”

The transmission cut off; Shenxi Tianxi had been found. As one of the top ten on the Infinitum Stele, he was a peak-level cosmic cartographer. However, there were seven others that fought him who were on his level as well! The transmission stone exploded, but there were others that continued reporting on the nightmarish situation.

”Rex Mundi! After Ebonopolis fell, Yi Daiyan’s troops launched an attack on our ships outside!”

”We make too big of a target! We aren’t able to hide at all! Scatter and evade!”

”Scattering’s pointless. They’ll search all of Ebonia and wipe us out all the same.”

Every single ebon felt endless despair. Yi Daiyan had left a mark of terror in their hearts that would remain until they died.

”Rex Mundi... Lord Tianxi... has been killed.... A lot of people ganged up on him during his final stand! Rex Mundi, where are you?”

”Rex Mundi, they’ve occupied Ebonopolis. Yi Daiyan showed herself there and ordered the city to be locked down. We don’t know what she’s attempting to do....”

”Agh! Aaah!”

”Rex Mundi! Yi Daiyan announced that she’ll kill us all! It’s a genocide!”

”Save us! Save us! Waaaah!”

Shenxi Xingtian smashed one transmission stone after another, but even more of them lit up.

”Rex Mundi! The Infinitum Bodhimanda’s armada has cut us off! They far outnumber us! Come save us!”

”We’re suffering huge casualties!”

”It’s over! There’s nowhere to run! This is the end!”

”It’s over for the ebons!” f𝗿e.com

Shenxi Xingtian’s skeletal head turned redder and redder from the surrounding subterranean heat. Nothing but the vines of the bloodline wisteria surrounded him. He couldn’t help himself and began sobbing nonstop, his shoulders violently shaking. ”I’ve lost everything, even my people! Our legacy of tens of millions of years.... The legends that passed from generation to generation.... All of it was lost in my hands!”

The ebons went from being a massive clan with more than four million astral gods to a mere target of massacre and extermination. Only a few rogue members would survive the purge. As for the Shenxi Clan, Shenxi Xingtian was probably the sole surviving member. Their extermination had been set in stone.

Everything had all started when Yi Daiyan had usurped his position as first rex mundi. Then Tianming had come along, and now it was Yi Daiyan’s turn once more to push him into the abyss. All his efforts and strategic errors back then hadn’t managed to sway his belief that he was in the right all along. Objectively, he had made the right calls only to face the most devastating results. His two foes simply possessed unbelievable luck. One had an endless supply of trump cards to turn things around, while the other was cruel and unconventional. Could there be anyone that despaired more than he did?

”Hehehehe.... Hahahahahaha!” His skull chattered as he maniacally laughed. ”I’m no longer tethered to my clan. It’s such a freeing feeling. There’s no longer anything that I won’t do. Yi Daiyan!”

He sank deep into the magma and let the heat into his body. The magma pool bubbled with his power. ”Since you massacred my ebons, I’ll massacre your people. You took everyone from me, so I’ll make sure that you end up alone. Trillions of people will be buried alongside you. From the start, all of you have used trick after trick to turn the tables against me. But now it’s finally my turn. Thank you for reminding me that I am also evil!”

His skull suddenly fractured and turned into a charred black mass that sank into the magma. However, his headless body began to expand and pulse with a fiendish aura.

......

Over the past few days, Tianming and the others had paid close attention to the war in Ebonia.

”Ebonopolis was breached and sacked, then everyone in it was killed. The blood of gods has pooled into a sea that filled the subterranean world. Everyone, young or old, was killed all the same. The Ebonfiend has also been moved away by Yi Daiyan. As for the hundreds of thousands of ebon astral gods, most of them abandoned their astralships and are hiding in Ebonia, scattered. Apart from them, the rest don’t possess any power to resist. The ships they’ve abandoned are a mess as well. Without anyone to control the nova wildbeasts, most of them returned to the underground, though the Infinitum Bodhimanda is systematically wiping them out. The bloodline wisteria is still alive, but nowhere to be found.”

That summarized what had been going on in Ebonia. Yi Daiyan’s unsurprising victory was also a ruthless one. No doubt, the Swordgod Lin Clan had significantly contributed to the victory. If Yi Daiyan hadn’t pretended to help them, the ebons wouldn’t have been lured out of their hole. Not to mention, her gamble that the Sun wouldn’t easily fall to the wonderians and elites from other mundi had paid off. And Meng Ying’s death had also resulted in the departure of four and a half million wonderians!

Naturally, Tianming and the rest had no stakes in her bet. It wasn’t like they could intentionally foil her by getting themselves killed just to be contrarian. As such, her plan was nothing short of masterful. She had singlehandedly weakened the wonderians while exterminating the ebons, greatly reducing their threat to her. The Swordgod Lin Clan had become priceless to her.

”In a few short days, the ebons were completely exterminated....” Tianming recalled the days of Chi Hun forcing a rift within the Lin Clan a few years back. It hadn’t been that much time since then. ”Yi Daiyan truly is ruthless! She’s put herself in the perfect spot to wait out our fight to claim the spoils for herself. By getting us, who have no choice, to fight and hold the line, she can swoop in later to achieve final victory....”

”Is there a way to direct Myriadpath Valley and Intrepidus to deal with her first?”

”I don’t think so. The Starshatter Formation is more than half completed. There aren’t that many wonderians left, either, so the influence they’ll have on Ebonia is limited. Mister Taihe and the other top elites are the only ones who’ll fight against Yi Daiyan.” It was still a hopeless situation no matter how they looked at it.

”According to Meng Ying’s promise, they’ll wipe out five trillion people now that five days have passed!” Lin Chongyao said, echoing everyone’s worries.

”It’s pointless to bring that up now. If we didn’t surrender on day one, there’s no sense in surrendering now,” Lin Xiao said.
